In line with the administration's commitment to public health and urban sustainability, the Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Hon. (Mrs.) Adetola Adunni Abubakar, today led environmental officers, executive members, and enforcement teams on the September edition of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise across the local council development area.

The exercise involved extensive monitoring of ongoing drainage desilting operations aimed at mitigating flood risks, evaluating community compliance, and reinforcing environmental safety standards across major residential and commercial hubs.

During the field exercise, Hon. Adetola Abubakar engaged directly with market leaders, transport operators, residents, and community stakeholders, emphasizing the critical need for sustained civic responsibility regarding waste disposal and environmental hygiene.

The Agboyi-Ketu LCDA administration continues to prioritize sustainable infrastructure maintenance, regular waste clearance, and community sensitization to safeguard public health and improve the quality of life for all residents.

*ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH: AGBOYI-KETU LCDA LAUNCHES COMPREHENSIVE DOOR-TO-DOOR INTERVENTION/MOP-UP EXERCISE ACROSS ALL 7 WARDS*

In a major proactive measure to safeguard public health, prevent environmental hazards, suppress disease epidemics, and control disease-carrying pests and rodents, the Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Hon. (Mrs.) Adetola Adunni Abubakar, has flagged off a massive door-to-door Refuse Intervention and Mop-Up Exercise across all seven (7) political wards of the local development area.

The council-wide initiative is being executed in active partnership with the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) and accredited Private Sector Participant (PSP) operators. To ensure rapid evacuation and maximum operational depth, heavy-duty refuse compactor trucks have been fully deployed across all wards to eliminate refuse black spots and clear accumulated environmental nuisances.

The environmental drive is structured around five core activity pillars across each ward:

- *Refuse Black Spot Intervention:* Identification, clearing, and complete evacuation of accumulated waste from major black spots and environmental nuisance areas.
- ⁠*House-to-House Refuse Intervention:* Mobilization and sensitization of residents on proper refuse storage and presentation for timely collection, alongside the evacuation of household waste backlog.
- ⁠*Public Stakeholder Engagement*: Direct community interaction with residents, traders, landlords, tenants, Community Development Associations (CDAs), Community Development Committees (CDCs), market associations, and local leaders.
- ⁠*Jingle & Mobile Awareness Campaign*: Continuous broadcast of environmental jingles and public service announcements and mobile awareness units to combat illegal and indiscriminate refuse dumping.
- ⁠*Enforcement & Compliance Monitoring:* Sensitizing households and commercial premises on their legal environmental obligations, with persistent violators subject to enforcement actions under applicable environmental laws and regulations.

The administration urges all residents, business owners, and community leaders across the seven wards to cooperate fully with the environmental intervention teams and mobile compactor units to sustain a cleaner, healthier, and vector-free Agboyi-Ketu.

*HON. ADETOLA ABUBAKAR FLAGS OFF ROAD & DRAINAGE CONSTRUCTION IN ALAPERE, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO INFRASTRUCTURAL GROWTH*

In line with her administration’s unwavering commitment to urban renewal and long-term development, the Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Hon. (Mrs.) Adetola Adunni Abubakar, yesterday officially flagged off the construction of roads and drainage systems at Anuoluwapo Street, Bola Hassan Street, and Kay-Eff Omoniyi Street in Alapere, Ketu.

The ceremony, attended by community leaders, CDC representatives, and residents, marks the official commencement of critical civil works designed to tackle local flooding, improve inner-road connectivity, and boost grassroots economic activity within the Alapere axis.

Delivering her opening remarks, Hon. Adetola Abubakar emphasized that infrastructural development remains the cornerstone of her administration’s service delivery agenda.

"For our administration, infrastructural development is not an afterthought; it is a fundamental, long-term commitment to elevating the living standards of every resident in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA," Hon. Adetola Abubakar stated. "We are taking on critical access roads to ensure our neighborhoods remain flood-resilient, economically vibrant, and structurally sound."

AGBOYI-KETU SPECIAL WARD-BY-WARD REFUSE REMOVAL INTERVENTION EXERCISE

The Executive Chairman of Agboyi Ketu LCDA, Hon. Mrs. Adetola Adunni Abubakar, today, September 12, 2026, led a special refuse removal intervention across all wards of the council area. The exercise, carried out using the LCDA's Intervention Compactors, covered streets within the seven wards of the community.

Participants in the exercise included the Councillors, Supervisors, Community Development Associations (CDA), Environmental Health Officers (EHO), and members of the community.

Residents of Agboyi-Ketu, who were urged to cooperate with the teams by properly presenting their refuse for collection, complied fully, and the exercise recorded huge success.

*HON. (MRS) ADETOLA ABUBAKAR SUSTAINS EDUCATION DRIVE WITH FREE GCE COACHING IN AGBOYI-KETU*

Following the recent distribution of 500 free GCE forms to students across the council area, the Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Hon. (Mrs.) Adetola Adunni Abubakar, has flagged off an intensive Free GCE Coaching Programme to ensure high academic performance among the beneficiaries.

The ongoing coaching scheme provides structured, subject-specific tutorials delivered by experienced tutors to prepare candidates for the upcoming West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates.

Participating students expressed immense gratitude to Hon. (Mrs.) Adetola Adunni Abubakar for the comprehensive support, noting that the daily lectures and practice drills provided by the Chairman have significantly improved their examination readiness.
