*GIANTS OF MY TIME (GOMT)*
📌 Weekly Article for Parents & Guardians – 2026
*Week 1 & 2 | January 2026*
Let me begin by congratulating all parents and guardians for entering triumphantly into 2026. 🎉
*As you step into this new year, here are a few important principles that will help you on your parenting journey in 2026*:
📌1. *Decide to Lead by Example*
✅ Make a conscious decision to practice what you teach your children.
👉 I once had a discussion with a parent who admitted that her son started stealing because he saw her repeatedly take money from his father’s safe without informing him.😞
At the time, she and her husband were having marital issues, so whenever she needed money, she secretly took it.
👉 Years later, when her son became a pre-teen, he started doing the same thing to her.🙁 She was angry and confused until she realized that he was simply repeating what he had seen her do while growing up.
👉 She shared that it took a long time for the boy to stop, because he genuinely believed his actions were right.
👉 The turning point came when she owned up to her mistake, apologized sincerely, explained that what she did was wrong, and told him she had repented. Only then did the boy change — and he did.🙏🤗
📌 2. *Learn to Apologize When You Are Wrong*
In 2026, if you make a mistake, apologize to your children or teenagers.🙏
👉 If your actions have contributed to bad habits, negative character, or unhealthy lifestyles in them, please acknowledge it and say you are sorry.🙏
👉 Many parents and guardians struggle with apologizing, even when they know they are wrong — but this does not help effective parenting.
👉 Saying “sorry” teaches children accountability, humility, responsibility, and the courage to change when they make mistakes.🙏
📌 3. *Depend on God for Strength*
Take it easy on yourself and ask God for help to do better in 2026.
👉 No parent can truly succeed by their own strength alone.
The Bible says in *1 Samuel 2:9*: 📖
“He will guard the feet of His faithful servants, but the wicked shall be silent in darkness; *for by strength shall no man prevail.”*
There will be moments when you feel exhausted, overwhelmed, or unsure — *but God’s strength will carry you through if you depend on Him.*
Happy New Year once again, and stay strong as a parent or guardian.🙏
▪️*Prayer Point*🙏
Father, I ask for Your strength and wisdom to parent rightly in 2026.
— 1 Samuel 2:9 📖
