NIGERIAN NAVY BASIC TRAINING SCHOOL BATCH 37 RECRUITMENT EXAMINATION

The Nigerian Navy wishes to inform the general public and all applicants who registered online for its NNBTS Batch 37 Recruitment Exercise that commenced on Friday 15 November 2024 of its Recruitment Examination scheduled to take place on Saturday 18 January 2025 at 30 designated centres across the nation. However, due to the forthcoming Ondo State Local Government elections holding on the same date, the Recruitment Examination for applicants who chose the 323 Artillery Brigade Akure has been rescheduled to Saturday 25 January 2025 at the same centre. The list of all applicants shortlisted to sit for the Examination is published at www.joinnigeriannavy.com. Shortlisted applicants are to report at their chosen examination centres by 7.00 AM. It is important to note that applicants will not be allowed to write the Recruitment Examination in any centre other than their chosen centres. Applicants are to come along with the following:

a. A print-out of their Application Form showing their particulars.
b. One Coloured Passport Photograph.
c. Writing materials (2B Pencil and Eraser).

THE CHIEF OF THE NAVAL STAFF INSPECTS NAVAL SHIPYARD LIMITED AND ERIEBE BARRACKS ELEME PORT HARCOURT

On Sunday, 29 December 2024, the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla inspected the Naval Shipyard Limited and Eriebe Barracks in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Firstly, the CNS inspected several ongoing projects including the reactivation of some Naval Security Houseboats, construction of ferries for the Akwa Ibom State government, and the completion of locally constructed patrol boats.

In his remarks, the CNS expressed satisfaction with the shipyard’s activities, describing the activities as vital to Nigerian Navy’s operational readiness while reducing reliance on expensive imports, and strengthening Nigeria’s maritime security infrastructure. The CNS also highlighted ongoing dredging efforts to expand the waterfront, allowing larger ships to berth, and the near-completion of a slipway.

Finally, the CNS emphasized the need for greater awareness of the Nigerian Navy’s local shipbuilding capabilities. The inspection underscored the CNS resolve to pursue vigorously the constitutional mandate of the Nigerian Navy regarding security of Nigeria’s maritime domain.

FINAL PHASE OF THE NATIONAL VOLLEYBALL PREMIER LEAGUE COMES TO AN END

The Phase II and final phase of the Comptroller General of Customs sponsored National Volleyball Premier League being organised by the Nigerian Volleyball Federation was held from 1 - 15 December 2024 at MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja. The tournament comprised 12 male and 12 female teams each from across the Country.

The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Male and Female Spikers participated in the League. The Male Spikers won the League while the Female Spikers came second in the league. The two teams played a total of 11 matches each. The Male team won 9 of their matches and lost 2 thereby emerging Champions of the 2024 National Volleyball Premier League with a cumulative aggregate 56 points. The Female Spikers on the other hand won 10 of their matches and recorded 59 points to end the League as the First Runner-up. The teams won 5 individual awards including the Most Valuable Player in of the tournament.
