ONGOING ROAD REHABILITATION AT 21 ROAD, AMUWO ODOFIN

The ongoing rehabilitation of 21 Road, Amuwo Odofin, stands as a clear demonstration of purposeful governance and a strong commitment to grassroots development under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Prince Lanre Sanusi.

PRESS RELEASE

Strengthening Collaboration Between Local Government and Federal Fire Service

The Local Government Authority today conducted a courtesy visit to the Federal Fire Service of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, located at 3rd Avenue, festac town Lagos. The visit was aimed at fostering stronger communication and collaboration between the local government and personnel of the fire service.

The delegation included the Supervisor for Special Duties and a representative of the Local Government Chairman, Mr. Bob, who also attended as a close associate of the Chairman. The engagement provided an opportunity for open dialogue regarding the operational needs and challenges faced by the fire service.

During the meeting, officials of the Federal Fire Service highlighted several pressing concerns, including the urgent need for repairs of fire trucks, maintenance of pumping machines, and the renovation of their facility. These issues were formally documented for further action.

In response, the representative of the Local Government Chairman assured the fire service personnel that all identified needs have been duly noted and will be carefully reviewed. Appropriate steps will be taken to address these concerns in line with the commitment of the local government to support critical emergency services.

UPDATE: ONGOING DRAINAGE CONSTRUCTION AT ABULE-ADO LINKED ROAD, 7TH AVENUE JUNCTION, FESTAC TOWN

Significant progress is being recorded at the Abule-Ado linked road by 7th Avenue Junction, Festac Town, as drainage construction works continue in full force.

This critical intervention is part of the ongoing infrastructural drive of the Executive Chairman of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government, aimed at addressing flooding challenges, improving road durability, and enhancing the overall living conditions of residents in the area.

AMUWO ODOFIN LG RESPONDS SWIFTLY TO ABULE-ADO FIRE INCIDENT

Amuwo Odofin Local Government recorded a fire outbreak in the Abule-Ado axis on Sunday morning, involving a residential building reportedly used partly for storing flammable materials.

Upon receiving distress calls, emergency response teams Ijegun Fire Service, Ojo Fire Service, and the International Trade Fair Fire Service Unit were immediately mobilized to the scene.

Despite initial logistical challenges, swift coordination and backup efforts ensured the fire was successfully contained. Thankfully, no lives were lost.

The response was further strengthened by the proactive efforts of community stakeholders. Acting on the directive of the Executive Chairman, local youths and residents were mobilized early, providing critical support even before the arrival of fire officials.

The Abule-Ado youth community showed remarkable courage and unity.
Traditional leadership, led by HRM Oba Alado, also played a key role in supporting emergency operations.

• Mr. Abiodun Emmanuel (Abbey), Immediate Past SA on Environment
• Comr. Esho Olakunle (NYCN Coordinator, Amuwo Odofin LGA)

This incident highlights the need for proper handling of hazardous materials, community vigilance, and collective responsibility.
