NEW YEAR MESSAGE FROM THE 6TH LEGISLATIVE ARM, BARIGA LOCAL COUNCIL

The 6th Legislative Arm of Bariga Local Council formally extends New Year greetings to the good people of Bariga.

The commencement of a new year provides an important institutional moment for reflection, responsibility, and recommitment to the principles of governance, accountability, and service to the public. The Legislative Arm remains conscious of the trust reposed in it by the people and is fully aware that legislative authority exists solely to advance the collective interest of the community.

In the year ahead, the 6th Legislative Arm will continue to discharge its constitutional responsibilities with firmness, independence, and fidelity to due process. Our focus remains on the enactment of people-centered bye-laws, effective legislative oversight, and constructive engagement with the Executive Arm and relevant stakeholders to promote order, stability, and sustainable development within Bariga Local Council.

We assure the residents of Bariga that the Legislature will uphold institutional integrity, protect the rule of law at the local government level, and place the welfare, security, and socio-economic progress of our people above all other considerations.

As we enter the new year, we call on all residents to sustain peaceful coexistence, civic responsibility, and collective commitment to the growth of Bariga.
