Washington, DC – October 23, 2025 – Dîner en Noir, the global social enterprise and professional networking organization dedicated to advancing Black entrepreneurship, economic growth, and community excellence, proudly announces its expansion into Africa—launching in three powerhouse cities: Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Lagos.
-
With a membership base of more than 50,000 entrepreneurs, professionals, artists, and visionaries across the United States and Europe, Dîner en Noir now extends its mission to the African continent—continuing its work to dismantle structural inequities in arts programming, small business and economic development, and health and wellness education and delivery.
-
At its core, Dîner en Noir creates spaces where members unite to advance Black excellence, empower Black-owned businesses and brands through curated solutions that strengthen commerce, and support mission-aligned nonprofits that stand at the heart of thriving communities through sustained, local impact.
-
Through strategic partnerships with nonprofits, small business incubators, arts organizations, and health and wellness initiatives, Dîner en Noir ensures its presence enriches entire ecosystems. Each Host City was strategically selected to meet distinct needs and amplify local strengths:
• Cape Town (Dîner en Noir - Cape Town), celebrated for its cultural heritage and dynamic creative industries, will see Dîner en Noir elevate local arts programming and small business innovation.
• Johannesburg (Dîner en Noir - Johannesburg), Africa’s economic heartbeat, will gain new platforms for entrepreneurs to access curated networking opportunities, resources, and collaborations that drive job creation and sustainable growth.
• Lagos, a global hub of culture, music, and enterprise, will serve as a vital bridge for international collaboration—empowering creatives and entrepreneurs with expanded access and global visibility.
-
“Bringing Dîner en Noir to Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Lagos represents more than just global growth—it’s about creating intentional spaces where Black excellence is celebrated, connections are deepened, and communities are uplifted,” said Howard Nelson Cromwell, Founder & President of Dîner en Noir Worldwide. “Our goal for this expansion is to weave together culture, commerce, and community in ways that empower people and spark lasting change across Africa and beyond.”
-
Founded in 2016, this historic expansion into Africa marks a defining 10-year milestone in Dîner en Noir’s global movement—bridging continents, amplifying Black entrepreneurship, and strengthening cultural legacies across the globe and throughout the African diaspora.
