N20bn Kogi State Salary Bail-out Loan: Court Grants EFCC’s Application.

Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, October 15, 2021, granted the application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, seeking to discontinue the matter in Suit No. FHC/L/ CS, 1086/2021 involving the N20bn Kogi State Salary bail-out loan. The application, according to the Commission’s counsel, Kemi Pinheiro, SAN, is sequel to the decision of the management of Sterling Bank Plc to return the total sum of N19, 333,333,333.36 standing in the credit of the frozen account back to the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Yesterday, I represented my boss Alhaji Yahaya Bello at the Olojo festival in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

The Olojo Festival is one of the most significant Yoruba festivals which marks the day Olodumare created the earth and the beginning of a new dawn in the Yoruba calendar.

This cultural festival is synonymous to some of the Igala Cultural Festivals like the Ocho etc which was restored by the trado-cultural loving GYB after a record 63 years of its abolishment by the British Colonial Government.

As we await the confirmation of the next Attah Igala as promised by His Excellency - who will rather do what’s right by the people at all times for posterity sake, we trust that as soon as the Attah is crowned and he ascends them throne, he shall take up Igala cultural festivals to a whole new level. And by God’s grace; we shall be here to be part of that rise. For nothing unites a people deeper than their shared cultural heritage.
