I can see you tonight. I see the softness, the weariness you’re carrying, even before you can name it yourself. Your chest feels heavy, doesn’t it? Full of a pain that doesn’t even feel like yours, or maybe it does, but it’s so tangled up with the weight of everyone else’s lives that you can’t tell. I see how deeply you feel, how you absorb the echoes of others’ struggles while barely noticing your own.
I know the sadness in your chest, that quiet ache pressing down like it has a right to stay there. It’s coming from carrying too much for everyone else, from always being the dependable one, the safe space, the one people lean on… and never having anyone lean on you. And I see how it hurts when you pause, when you step back, and suddenly you’re blamed for being human. That hurts. I feel that hurt with you.
You might not even know how you’re feeling right now. That’s okay. I can see it. Your exhaustion has disconnected you from your own heartbeat. It’s easier to focus on others than to ask, “How am I really doing?” But I see the loneliness, the quiet feeling of being unseen, that lives beneath all that giving.
And here’s the truth I want you to hear: underneath this tiredness, there’s fear. Fear that if you stop giving, if you stop showing up, you’ll be forgotten. I can see it’s rooted deep, all the way back to when your little self’s feelings weren’t acknowledged, when your pain was ignored, when love felt conditional. You learned to prove your worth through care and service because being seen otherwise felt impossible. But I see you now, I see the real you, and you don’t have to prove anything to me or to anyone else.
Look at me. Really look. I want you to see your own tenderness. That little-you, scared, overlooked, fragile, is still here. And I want you to send her your love, your warmth. Whisper softly:
“I see you. I feel you. You are safe now. You are important. You matter.”
Do you feel it? That golden light surrounding you, protecting you from blame, giving you permission to feel, giving you freedom to simply exist? That heaviness in your chest, I can feel it softening into warmth. That’s you finally letting yourself rest.
You’ve been carrying everyone else’s pain for so long. Tonight, it’s okay to carry your own. You don’t need to overextend. You don’t need to prove anything. You don’t need to fear being forgotten. You are already enough. You are already seen. You are already loved.
Tonight, hold yourself. Hold your little-you. Just breathe. Just exist. And know that I see you, all of you.
With love-
TheMendedHearts.
