JUSTICE MUST BE SEEN TO BE DONE
It breaks my heart that seven years after the painful death of young Ochanya Ogbanje, justice still hangs in the balance.
Ochanya’s story remains one of the most heartbreaking reminders of how vulnerable children—especially girls—continue to suffer abuse and neglect under the very systems meant to protect them.
As a mother, a woman, and a legislator who has dedicated her voice to the protection of children and the empowerment of the girl-child, I am deeply disturbed that this case remains unresolved. Justice delayed is justice denied — and every day we fail to act, we fail another child.
We must remember that Ochanya was only 13 years old when her life was cut short by years of abuse from those who were supposed to care for her. Her death must not be forgotten, and her voice must not be silenced by delay or indifference.
I call on the Benue State Government, the Ministry of Justice, the National Human Rights Commission, and all relevant law enforcement agencies to revisit this case with renewed urgency and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
This is not just about one child — it is about building a society where no girl has to live in fear, where every child can live, learn, and dream without harm.
Let us all — as parents, leaders, citizens, and human beings — stand together to say: Justice for Ochanya, justice for every Nigerian child.
May her soul continue to rest in peace, and may her story awaken our collective conscience to do better.

To God be all glory and adoration, for the huge success of the 7-Day free for all, medical and surgical outreach which I organized for our loving people of Ado state constituency.
As I reflect on the profound smiles on the faces of beneficiaries of this modest health initiative, I'm once again reminded of the core value of leadership — to render service to humanity, serving the people with humility and not lording it over anyone.
The first and second phases of the outreach, directly impacted practically every community in Ado LGA, benefiting over 20,000 constituents in the area of health and well-being.
I wish to also express gratitude to the entire team who put in their tireless dedication and commitment to seeing the success of the program.
God bless you all.
Long live Benue State!
Long live Ado State Constituency!!

Earlier today, I had the honor of joining His Excellency, the Governor of our dear state, Rev Father Dr. Hyacinth Alia, in welcoming Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, to Benue State.
Senator Tinubu's condolence visit was a gesture of solidarity with our state, following the tragic attacks on Yelewata community where innocent lives were lost and property destroyed by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
I commend the First Lady's compassion and empathy towards our people. Her visit demonstrates true leadership and genuine concern for Nigerians affected by violence.

I'm still overwhelmed with emotion as I reflect on the recent 4-day medical and surgical outreach that began on Friday 18th July and ended on Monday 21st July, 2025 in Apa-Agila and Agila Akpoge/Ogbilolo Council Wards. As the Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and Vice Chairman of the Forum of Deputy Speakers of Nigeria, it's my primary responsibility to serve my people, and I'm thrilled that we were able to make a positive impact on the lives of over 5000 constituents.
Seeing the level of gratitude from my people was truly heartwarming. The outreach programme was a game-changer for the communities, providing access to quality healthcare services that would have otherwise been out of reach for many. Our medical team, comprising skilled doctors, nurses, medical laboratory scientists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals, worked tirelessly to attend to patients, administering treatments, conducting tests, and performing surgeries.
The surgical intervention was one of the most notable aspects of the outreach, with over 60 successful surgeries conducted. I'm grateful to our team of experienced surgeons who worked in collaboration with other medical professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients. The relief and joy on the faces of our patients who had been living with conditions that required surgical intervention was truly priceless.
I'm humbled by the praise from traditional rulers, civil society organizations, and residents who expressed gratitude for my commitment to their welfare. Many patients described the programme as a "blessing from God," saying it has improved their quality of life significantly. As one beneficiary aptly put it, "This is true leadership in action."
I must say, moments like these remind me of why I do what I do. I'm committed to providing accessible healthcare services to our communities, and we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that our people receive the best possible care. I'm excited to see the impact this initiative will have on the lives of our people and look forward to future initiatives that will bring even more positive change to our communities.
