BEING A COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF THE 8TH GENERAL MEETING OF BENUE YOUTH BRIGADE FOR ORTOM'S CONTINUITY HELD ON THE 17TH JULY, 2018 AT WOODLAND PARK MAKURDI, BENUE STATE.

As the 2019 General elections draw closer, political stakeholders, opinion leaders, support groups, women and youths alike, for obvious reasons have started perfecting plans to mobilize support for aspirants of their choices in various elective offices, be it at the State or Federal level. In the build up to this 2019 General elections which is characterized by unpredictable outcome and high waves of conspiracy theories being hatched by high prolific players in the Nigerian political system, Benue State in particular. Benue Youth Brigade for ORTOM'S Continuity, a support group whose core mandate is ensuring Governor Ortom's re-election come 2019. The group which cuts across the 23 Local Government areas of Benue State having critically analysed the current state of political skirmishes or squabble, have reaffirmed their resolve in their 8th general Congress to queue behind Governor Ortom to enable him actualize his dreams of being re-elected come 2019 irrespective of party affiliation. "WE SHALL GO WITH YOU ANYWHERE YOU GO"
2.The group therefore, unanimously endorse and support Gov. Samuel Ortom for 2019 Governership elections.
3. The group hereby calls on other well meaning Benue people to support the candidature of Gov Samuel Ortom who in addition to his firm stands on the Anti-open Grazzing and Ranches Establishment Law, Transparency, Fairness and all Inclusive policy
of governance, is a core party man with rich political experience and wide network of political friends which can positively bear on the development of Benue State.
4. The group also aligned themselves with the Middlebelt Forum in agitating for the restructuring of Nigeria and the need for a Middlebelter as president of Nigeria in the forth coming general elections.
5. The group further used the opportunity of the Congress to congratulate members of Gov. Samuel Ortom's Cabinet that were retained in the recent partial cabinet desolution by the Governor which is a clear indication of hard work, dedication to duty and their loyalty to the Governor in particular and the people of Benue State at large. They are;
I. Dr Tony Ijoho, Secretary to the State Government.
II. Hon. Terwase Orbunde Chief of staff to the Governor.
III. Hon. Barr. Michael Gusa, Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the State
IV. Prof. Dennis Ityavyar, Comm. for Education Science and Technology.
V. Mr David Olofu, Comm. for Finance.
VI. Mr Bernard Unenger, Comm. for Land, Survey and Solid Minerals.
VII. Dr Magdalene Dura, Special Adviser on Development Coorperatives, SDGs and NEPAD.
VIIl. Mr Matthew Mnyam, Special Adviser on Education.
IX. Chief Ode Enyi, Special Adviser on Gender Employment and Labour Matters.
X. Mr Thomas Anajav, Special Adviser on Government House Adminstration.
XI. Lt. Col. Paul Hemba Rtd., Special Adviser on Security.
XII. Mr Tahav Agerzua, Special Adviser on Media and ICT.
XIII. Mr Joseph Odauda, Special Adviser on Special Duties. The members are particularly happy over the retention of their patron, Hon Barr Michael Gusa and encourage him to continue to do more for Gov Samuel Ortom to succeed.
6. The group equally congratulates the newly sworn in Special Adviser to the Governor on Beaureu for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Jerome Tor Shimbe. The appointment is well deserved.
7. The 17th July, 2018 Congress has condemned in totality the activities of those enemies of Benue State who have suddenly abandoned the people's Governor for their selfish interest and have embarked on a campaign of calumny against the person and Government of Governor Samuel Ortom with the aim of tarnishing his image and thereby jeopardizing his chances of being re-elected. These apostles of deceit and mischief should themselves be ignored by the good people of Benue State.
The group finally pray God to continue to guide, protect and strengthen the Governor, His Excellency Samuel Ortom as he continues to steer the affairs of the State.
