In one of my recent posts about Distinguished Senator Patrick Abba Moro PhD, I made it clear that "Leadership and followership in Nigeria are taking a new dimension. Many people are now more interested in the personality of the political aspirants more than just their political parties." A good leader is very scarce to find. The reason is that many of our leaders lack integrity and consistency in their democratic journey and belief.

In politics and governance ethics generally, track record is very important.

These days, many naive and blind followers don't just border about asking basic questions: Who is this man or woman who is asking us to give him or her our mandate or votes so that he would assume the position of leadership or trust, to lead us; including taking decisions on our behalf? Who is he or she, and what was he or she doing before coming into politics; and who is his or her sources of income....is it legitimate? All of these questions and many more should form the basis for taking a stand to support a political leader; regardless of his or her political party.

We need to do regular background checks on the level of integrity and consistency of our leaders so that we the electorates won't become victims of one-chance politicians who often recruit illiterates and street touts to make noise everywhere on social media.

Senator Abba Moro deserves more awards as the Most Consistent Politician of our Time.!
It's only in America that you will see a politician calling himself a Democrat and remains so.....or a Republican and maintains it so.

Dr. Abba Moro began his academic career at Benue State Polytechnic as a lecturer where he served as head of the Department of General Studies for one year (1991-1992) and head of the department of Public Administration for four years (1992-1996) and later as dean of studies, School of Business and Administration Studies. He is well-admired by men, women, children and adults everywhere in Benue State as a lecturer...many of his students often fondly called him "Moro for Better Tomorrow"!

Senator Abba Moro as a well-known lecturer and builder of men is loved by many leaders from Idoma, Tiv, Igede and so on.
Davide Mark, former Senator and a one time Military Governor in Nigeria likes Abba Moro so much that he took special interest in him.
Distinguished Senator Abba Moto began his political career from Peoples Democratic Party and he has remained faithful, truthful, fruitful and powerful. He is currently nicknamed the father of modern Benue politics....you can't meet him and your life remains the same. Recently one of the beneficiaries of his massive foreign scholarship said that the secret of her successful emergence for the Scholarship is that *she cried Abba father*!

Below are few of his achievements, I just decided to make this post short so that my Social Media handle no go collap.se because it won't carry all his good works in one single post:

Senator Abba Moro: Six years of effective, transformative, impactful representation

June 13, 2025, makes it exactly six years that the senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro PhD gracefully took the stage to represent the good people of Benue South Senatorial District ( Zone C) in the senate.

Before becoming a senator, Abba Moro is well known for his capacity, competence, capability, intelligence and love for the masses. He had held several positions of trust in Nigeria, where he left indelible marks in the a**l of history: one time Chairman , one time Okpokwu Local Government chairman, one time Honourable of , and currently a very Distinguished Senator of the of ; most performing Senator in Benue South Senatorial District.

Since his assumption of office, Senator Moro has been consistent, focused and deliberate in making robust laws for the country and delivering on his campaign promises to his people. His achievements, which are visible everywhere place him at advantage position to continuously represent Benue South Senatorial District come 2027 as the best among the rest candidates who's interested in the race. Benue South needs the best and we cannot settle for anything lesser other than the best!

In the 10th Senate, Senator Abba Moro has been shinning like a star and making histories everywhere. In the senate, his voice is loud and clear with his quality bills and motions, cordial relationship with members of his party and other parties; and sound contributions to topical issues. He's not an absentee nor sit-don-look senator; he is active, responsive, vocal and eloquent legislator whose opinions are always sought and respected in Nigeria.

*When the Effium vs Ezza conflict since 2021 snowballed into a full scale war, Senator Abba Moro was the very first person to raise the matter at the floor of the Senate at the National Assembly, asking the Federal Government to intervene and provide security of lives and property to his constituents.*

Senator Moro's emergence as Senate Minority Leader on the 21st November, 2023, was applauded on the floor of the Senate. The appointment, which, received applauses from across the country, strategically positions Senator Moro to be amongst the decision-makers and opinion moulders not just in the senate but the entire country.

He is effectively utilizing the senate minority office as can be seen in his achievements so far in the 10th senate. As minority leader, the senator is providing quality leadership for the minority caucus of the senate that continues to see him as a dependable, reliable and trustworthy leader.

In the last two years of the 10th Senate, Senator Moro has achieved so much. Within the period in view, the senator sponsored and secured presidential assent for two notable establishment bills, namely; The North Central Development Commission (NCDC) Establishment Bill, and the College of Agricultural Technology, Opialu-Ojapo Establishment Bill. In the 2025 budget that's about to kick off, Senator Moro has facilitated laudable projects that will greatly impact positively on Benue South Senatorial District, which will be rolled out in the process of time.

Senator Moro's political presence has not just been one of visibility, but of substance; a quiet but forceful dedication to principle, representation, and national stability. Today, he stands not merely as a legislator, but as an icon of purpose-driven governance. His primary interest is to develop communities, build the capacity of our youths, men and women, foster social unity among all tribes, tongues, religions and even stabilize political understanding and tolerance among citizens. This uncommon trait in him has recently earned him the nickname, *The Bridge Builder*!

Unlike many who posture with so much noise and propaganda, Senator Moro has embraced his legislative and leadership roles with a measured approach. He does not seek the spotlight for spectacle but commands it through consistent advocacy for security, constitutionalism, development, youths/women empowerment, equity and rule of law.

In conclusion, Senator Moro’s political journey reveals a man driven by conviction to impact lives, and not any personal gains. As a lawmaker, his voice is loud in defense of his people's rights and privileges when it matters. As Minority Leader, his voice resonates not just as a critic, but as a stakeholder in Nigeria’s growing democratic project. Senator Patrick Abba Moro has the best and people friendly staff in the Senate.

Senator Abba Moro is my leader and my heroe...I will name a son after him because he is a man under divine grace.

IS WIDELY LOVED, SUPPORTED AND KNOWN AS A HOUSEHOLD NAME IN EZZA LAND AND BENUE STATE AT LARGE*:

Benue State as a multi-ethnic state is blessed by God with the good peoples of Idoma, Tiv, Ezza, Igede, Utonkon, Izzi, and so on.

Each people with their unique language, culture and history which predated 1914 amalgamation of Northern and Southern Protectorate by the colonial masters, the independence of Nigeria in 1960 and subsequently the creation of Benue State in 1976 respectively.

Benue State, the Food Basket of the nation is no doubt the agricultural and food hub of Nigeria courtesy of the collective efforts of every ethnic nationalities that make up the state. Our strength, social dignity and national recognition depend largely on our unity and cordial relationships.

However, in the history of Benue state, Ezza people have never be recognized by progressive administrations until recently in the year 2021 when Ezza Ezekuna Benue state formed a socio-cultural group known as Ezza Ezekuna Benue Development Association (EEBDA), a non-political association and the umbrella body uniting all Ezza sons and daughters of Benue state origin.

*WHY SENATOR ABBA MORO DESERVES APPRECIATION AND SUPPORTS*

During the inauguration of Ezza socio-cultural association in 2021, an official invitation was extended, first verbally to Senator Abba Moro by the President-General of the Association, Lady Perpetual Nkechi Okafor, PhD.

Surprisingly, the Senator said, "Madam, tell me where you live, I will come to your house and collect my invitation letter with my hand. I have heard about Ezza people in Ado and Oju local government respectively, as very peaceful and hardworking people. I would like to visit Ezza people because every person in Benue state especially Benue South Senatorial District under my leadership as a Senator is very dear to me." The conversation appeared to Madam Nkechi as a normal joke but the Senator been a man of integrity insisted that he must come and before you knew it, he drove straight to her house and collected the letter!

On the very date of the Ezza Benue Inauguration, Senator Abba Moro came alongside with other dignitaries: Hon. James Oche, Chairman Ado LGA, Hon. Francis Ottah Agbo, member representing Zone C at the National Assembly Abuja and other persons who were also invited to the event, sitting on a bike and rode on a track road of over 18 kilometers to the venue at Inikiri Ichari, under Ulayi district, Ado local government area of Benue state.

In the remarks of Senator Abba Moro, he sympathized with the good people of Ezza over the long time neglect of Ezza Benue, saying that he never knew that Ezza people have such appreciable population in Benue state. He enthusiastically made many promises including donation of N1 million naira which he fulfilled, he also promised to appoint an Ezza son as a Liaison Officer, who will be interfacing between Ezza Ezekuna Venue and his estmeed office at the National Assembly Abuja and he fulfilled his promise. He equally pledged to build a memorial which will serve as Senator Abba Moro Liaison Office, Ezza Ezekuna Benue State.... Unfortunately, this noble plan was negatively affected by the Effium vs Ezza conflict that broke out in Ebonyi state which later escalated to Ado LGA of Benue state. But the Senator is still very much interested in fulfilling all his promises to Ezza, especially now that the war has ended; courtesy of Senator Abba Moro's stand at the National Assembly by raising a Motion on the Floor of the Senate towards addressing the plights of his constituents in Ado local government area council.

Ezza Ezekuna Benue state will remain eternally grateful for Senator Abba Moro's fatherly disposition over the years and his leadership ingenuity, especially now that Nigerian leadership is fast changing from party politics to people-oriented politics.

These days people lend their supports particularly to individuals based on their conviction that they are capable, reliable and available to respond to their yearnings for political inclusion and social development. Ezza Benue once neglected are remembered for good.

In this platform, you're highly valued, not just on political ground but because you're a change-maker and lover of good governance; regardless of your gender, religion and political orientation.

There are many wonderful plans, programmes and activities which Senator Abba Moro has in stock for the benefits of all his constituents. In the course of our continued interactions in this Platform, I will be unveiling many of his good plans and developmental initiatives, especially to the good people of Ezza Benue.

*Please, Senator Abba Moro being a servant leader also welcomes your prayers and developmental suggestions in how we can collectively build a better future, peaceful and prosperous Benue State.

Cordially yours,

*Mathew Nwokwu*
Development Advocate
