Silver Caduceus Societies (SCS) are private associations established for Medical Service Corps (MSC) officers to conduct professional and personal development and offers a forum for MSC officers to be updated on the advancements in technical, administrative and scientific arenas.

The CSA has published his 2017 professional development reading list. While these books are not mandatory reading requirements, there are some valuable resources among the list. Today, we celebrated our Warrant Officer Colleagues' 99th birthday on Ft. Detrick. Our CWOs are part of a time honored corps of professionals within the AMEDD! Assisting in the celebration was COL Dave Sloniker, the Ft. Detrick SCS President. Happy birthday CWOs!

MG Lein mentorship session at Fort Detrick's Silver Caduceus Society Meeting.
The Silver Caduceus Society will be hosting a luncheon on 23 May, from 1115-1245, Building 810 Conference Room 1&2. Come network, meet your new Governing Council, say goodbye to your outgoing council, renew your membership, enjoy some fellowship, and hear our CG speak!
The guest speaker for this event will be MG Brian C. Lein, Commanding General, USAMRMC. We will be hearing about the CGs leadership philosophy and the importance of networking and mentorship to the MSC community.
If you can please RSVP for this event, and include if you will be participating in the lunch, to CPT Stacey Bateman by 18 May, that would be appreciated. Lunch will be provided courtesy of the SCS. Please invite other MSC Officers who may be interested in joining. We will have membership forms at the event.

Ft. Detrick SCS Officers, there is an exciting Professional Development opportunity for Junior Officers hosted by the WRNMMC Junior Officer Council. WRNMMC JOC has arranged for five Flag officers to conduct a Leadership Discussion Panel and graciously offered Ft. Detrick Officers the opportunity to participate. **Note- there will be limited parking, so please see details below for transportation.
