The Special Adviser and Focal Person to the Executive Governor of Niger State on National Social Investment Programme Hon. Hauwa Bako Mohammed alongside the Governor's Coordinator on Ward Development Project Hajiya Amina Magaji held a town hall meetings with leaders of the various political and entrepreneurial groups that forms part of the Progressive Women Network to discuss modalities in anticipation of the disbursement of the N250,000,000 revolving fund meant to enhance the economic growth of the Kontagora Women Entrepreneurs.

This interface is one of the steps in the strategy outlined in ensuring a spotless implementation of the project initiated by His Excellency Farmer Governor Mohammed Umar Bago to empower women in business. Earlier in January, a midlevel engagement sufficed with critical stakeholders involving leadership representstive from the grassroots including:

- Traditional and Religious Leaders (Hakimai and Council of Ulamas and CAN representative
- Kontagora Legislative Council
- Representatives of Women Associations
- Community-Based Associations

Key Outcomes
1. Stakeholders/Beneficiaries Buy-in: The engagement secured the support and cooperation of key stakeholders and beneficiaries, paving the way for successful program implementation

2. Feedback and Recommendations: Valuable feedback and suggestions were gathered, which will inform the program's design, ensuring it meets the needs of women entrepreneurs especially in Kontagora Local Government and Niger State in general.

Recommendations

After successful presentation of the operating manual to the stakeholders' which most of them tagged as spotless and equally testifying being in tandem with the vision of the Farmer Governor especially in terms of inclusivity, the stakeholders demanded a copy of the operating manual for them to be able to acurately play their roles overseeing the program's implementation and to provide guidance.

The Special Adviser on Social Investment Programme Hauwa Bako Mohammed is equally been praised and appreciated by the stakeholders' for her spectacular act of transperency and for her intentions to carry everyone along in the process. Intensive and passive prayers were dedicated to the Executive Governor and the Special Adviser

Conclusion:

Both The Special Adviser and Hajiya Amina Magaji calls for calm and implore both the stakeholders' and beneficiaries to remain patient as we undergo the process together.

KONTAGORA COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AUGUST 20TH-21ST

I began with a formal visit to our party office where I had a fruitful engagement with the party excos and subsequently holding interactive sessions with Ward to Ward Kontagora Local Government Women Leaders and other political groups and associations - this is to strengthen our shared value of serving the people and helping His Excellency Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago in his governance.

My other line up of activities in the glorious visit was attending the free medical outreach session organised by the Honorable Commissioner Ministry of Rural Development Hon. Phalal Bako Mohammed as well as acting as a guest speaker at the maiden Kontagora Women Entrepreneurs public lecture.

This past week, I joined a high-profile delegation from Niger State, comprising esteemed Commissioners and Special Advisers, on an official visit to Soilless Farm Labs in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Our mission was to witness firsthand the innovative agricultural practices being implemented and to explore opportunities for further collaboration.

With 560 greenhouses and over 7 successful training cohorts, Soilless Farm Labs is a trailblazer in sustainable farming, utilizing cutting-edge techniques like hydroponics, aquaponics, and aeroponics. This initiative is transforming agriculture and empowering youth across Nigeria.

During our visit, we had the chance to engage with the passionate youths from Niger State. Their enthusiasm was palpable as they showcased the greenhouses they built from scratch and the bountiful harvests of cucumbers, bell peppers, and vegetables they’ve produced. Their dedication and gratitude towards Governor Bago’s support truly resonated with us.

Our visit also included a productive meeting with Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, where we discussed the critical role of agriculture in Nigeria’s future. His insights on agro-business and food security were both inspiring and affirming of our shared vision. Chief Obasanjo’s commitment to visiting Niger State and supporting our agricultural initiatives, including the adoption of “Operation Feed the Nation,” is a testament to the potential we hold.

This visit has deepened our understanding of innovative agricultural practices, strengthened our partnerships, and reaffirmed our commitment to youth empowerment through sustainable development.

Together, we are paving the way for a brighter, more prosperous future for Niger State and Nigeria.
