A NEW NIGER STATE IS POSSIBLE: DR. MK KPUTAGI AND THE DAWN OF TRUE LEADERSHIP

Niger State stands today at a defining moment in its history. Our state is richly blessed with vast agricultural land, hardworking people, abundant natural resources, and a strategic location at the heart of Nigeria. Yet, despite these enormous advantages, the majority of our people continue to struggle with poor infrastructure, limited access to basic services, unemployment, and a declining standard of living.

For almost three years, the administration of Governor Umar Bago has had the opportunity to transform the fortunes of our dear state. Unfortunately, the reality on the ground tells a different story. Many communities still lack access to clean drinking water, our hospitals remain under-equipped, schools continue to deteriorate, and roads across the state have become a nightmare for commuters, farmers, and traders.
This is not the Niger State our people deserve.

However, hope is not lost. A new path is emerging, and that path is represented by a credible, experienced, and visionary leader Mohammed K. Kputagi, popularly known as Dr. MK Kputagi, under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

A Man of Integrity, Experience and Competence.

Dr. MK Kputagi is a seasoned administrator, a respected scholar, and a man whose life has been defined by discipline, professionalism, and service to the nation. Rising through the ranks of the Federal Civil Service to the position of Director, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership, accountability, and the ability to manage complex systems.

His experience in governance, planning, and administration places him in a strong position to understand the challenges facing Niger State and, more importantly, to implement practical solutions.

Dr. Kputagi is not driven by personal ambition but by a genuine desire to rescue and reposition Niger State for prosperity and progress.

The Reality Facing Niger State Today
Across the state—from Minna to Bida, from Lapai to Kontagora, from Mokwa to Suleja—the story is largely the same. Our people are yearning for leadership that will prioritize their welfare.

Many rural communities still lack access to safe drinking water. Primary healthcare centres remain neglected and poorly equipped. Schools lack adequate learning facilities. Farmers struggle with poor roads and lack of access to modern agricultural support.

Despite significant federal allocations and resources available to the state government, the expected transformation has not been felt by the majority of citizens.

The people of Niger State deserve better.
Dr. MK Kputagi’s Vision for a New Niger State is possible.

Dr. Kputagi’s agenda is centered on people-focused governance and sustainable development. His vision is simple yet powerful: to build a Niger State where government truly works for the people.

His priorities include:

1. Revitalizing Healthcare
Dr. Kputagi plans to strengthen primary healthcare across the state, equip hospitals with modern facilities, and ensure that every citizen, especially those in rural communities, has access to affordable and quality healthcare services.

2. Transforming Education
Education is the foundation of development. His administration will invest heavily in schools, provide better training and welfare for teachers, and ensure that our children receive the quality education needed to compete in the modern world.

3. Massive Infrastructure Development
Road networks across the state will receive urgent attention to facilitate movement, boost trade, and improve access to markets for farmers and businesses. His government will also prioritize rural electrification and access to clean water.

4. Agricultural and Economic Development
Niger State has the potential to become Nigeria’s agricultural powerhouse. Dr. Kputagi plans to support farmers with modern tools, improved seedlings, and better access to markets while also promoting agro-processing industries that will create jobs for our youth.

5. Youth Empowerment and Job Creation
Young people will not be left behind. Through skills acquisition programs, entrepreneurship support, and investments in small and medium enterprises, his administration will create opportunities that allow young people to thrive.

A Call for Unity and Collective Action
The journey toward building a new Niger State cannot be achieved by one man alone. It requires the collective support, prayers, and commitment of all Nigerlites who desire genuine change and development.

Dr. MK Kputagi represents a new direction—a leadership built on competence, integrity, accountability, and genuine love for the people.

The Time for a New Beginning
Niger State deserves leadership that listens, leadership that delivers, and leadership that puts the people first.
The time has come for a new dawn.
The time has come for responsible governance.
The time has come for Dr. MK Kputagi.
Together, let us rise and build the Niger State of our dreams.

ADC GOVERNORSHIP ASPIRANT, DR. MK KPAUTAGI, BLASTS NIGER ASSEMBLY OVER APPROVAL OF $14.4 MILLION NIGER FOODS LOAN.

Governorship aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Niger State, Dr. MK Kpautagi, has strongly condemned the Niger State House of Assembly for approving the reported $14.4 million loan for Niger Foods, describing the action as a shameful abdication of responsibility and a betrayal of the people of Niger State.

According to Dr. Kpautagi, the primary duty of any lawmakers is to protect the interests of citizens through rigorous oversight, accountability, and prudent management of public resources and not to serve as a rubber stamp for every borrowing request brought before them by the executive.

He questioned how legislators could approve yet another loan when the state is already grappling with crippling insecurity, widespread poverty, massive youth unemployment, failing healthcare facilities, collapsing educational standards, and deplorable road networks.

Dr Kputagi quarrels "Is the Assembly Still Working for the People?"
He expressed deep concern that nearly three years into its tenure, the current Assembly has failed to demonstrate the independence, courage, and vigilance expected of a legislature in a democratic society.
He accused the lawmakers of abandoning their constitutional duty and becoming mere spectators while the state sinks deeper into economic hardship and debt.

The people elected these lawmakers to be watchdogs, not lapdogs. Their responsibility is to ask tough questions, challenge questionable decisions, and ensure that every kobo borrowed in the name of the people delivers measurable value. Instead, what we are witnessing is an Assembly that appears more interested in approving loans than protecting citizens."

Where was the rigorous debate? Where was the due diligence? Where was the concern for the future generations who will be saddled with the burden of repaying these debts?"

Serious Questions Must Be Answered
While acknowledging the importance of agriculture to the state's economy, Dr. Kpautagi insisted that no responsible legislature should approve a financial commitment of this magnitude without full transparency and convincing evidence that it will genuinely benefit the people.

He challenged the Assembly to publicly explain why this loan was approved, what safeguards are in place to ensure accountability, and how the investment will directly improve the lives of ordinary Nigerlites.
"Niger State cannot continue borrowing its way into prosperity while basic services remain in ruins. The people deserve answers. They deserve accountability. And they deserve a legislature that stands with them, not one that blindly endorses every request from the executive.

Dr. Kpautagi warned that history would judge both the executive and the Assembly for decisions that mortgage the future of Niger State without delivering tangible improvements to the lives of its citizens.

JUST IN: President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, has been caught on video openly advising Leke Abejide, a key figure in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), to remain in the party and “fight them… scatter them.”

In the viral video, Gbajabiamila, while speaking with Abejide, urged him not to abandon the ADC despite ongoing leadership crises and court battles rocking the opposition party.

“I know you to be a committed party man. I know you to be a fighter… So please, my charge to you is to stay in that same ADC. Fight them. Scatter them! Hold on to your party, ADC. Do not abandon them. We like what you are doing. Continue,” Gbajabiamila said.

He dismissed suggestions that Abejide should leave the ADC, insisting that the party belongs to him since he built it “with your sweat and your money.”

“Don’t mind them — the former Governor said that you should come and join… No, no, no. Stay in ADC. Win your election in ADC as you will. Bring Dada Gombe… Those of us in support… Do the right thing. You are a fighter,” he added.

Gbajabiamila further encouraged Abejide to fight in court to retain control of the party.

The explosive video has sparked massive outrage online, with many accusing the Tinubu administration of actively working to destabilise the opposition ADC ahead of the 2027 general elections. Watch the video in the comment section.
