Our New Year Message of Hope.

Dear People of Okrika, we salute you and bring you good tidings of the season. It is a thing of joy that we finished 2024 strong and made it together into a glorious year 2025.

Upon our election and subsequent taking of oath of office, we swore to abide by the principles of good governance and giving our people quality leadership, and to ensure the security of lives and properties of all Okrikans and residents in and around Okrika Local Government Area. These we have held with utmost vigour in the last two months of our administration.

As a government moving on with courage, we are aware of the many desires and wishes of our people from all tiers of government to have infrastructural and human capital developments attracted to our dear Local Government Area. This is an earnest desire of our administration to ensure that we collaborate with all tiers of government, agencies, and parastatals to bring such developments to bear in our dear land. We will do all in our purview to see how our people will get a better life.

We, therefore, enjoin our people to be part of the system by fronting ideas, advice, prayers, and suggestions believing that two good heads are better than one. For the development of Okrika, rest not upon one man's solder but through a collective synergy,we shall shall deliver democratic dividends to improve our values . It is our belief that Nation will be first amongst her equals if we are united and speak with one voice in our aspirations.

The long-awaited 2025 is here. Let's put the past behind, learn the lesson, accept our mistakes, and press forward towards our greater goals. In a short while, our administration shall present our 2025 appropriation budget to the Okrika Local Government Legislative Assembly for scrutiny and passage for the inclusive growth and development of Okrika Nation

So far, our light up Okujagu, Ojimba, and environs are ongoing. Our six classrooms block construction at Ojimba Ama is also ongoing. To curb the menace of kidnapping on our waterways, we have mounted sophisticated digital cameras and have engaged the security operatives to patrol the waterways often. We believe these measures will help to put a stop on the molestation of our people plying the sea routes.

Our promise to engage 200 sanitation ad-hoc staff has also started in earnest. The first set has been engaged, and the second batch will be engaged in this early month of the year. We implemented the 30,000 Christmas bonus payment to the workers of Okrika Local Government Council. We have so far engaged several health activities in different primary health care centres. We have also dolled out materials and cash gifts to flood impacted areas of Okrika Local Government Area.

All our programs aimed and geared towards taking Okrika to greater heights will he pursued with renewed vigour and deliberate vested interest to ensure it is Okrika first.

Here we are in 2025, and we enjoin all of us to see ourselves as one indivisable entity. There's hope by the grace of God. We will get to the destination we so desired as a people. Let us specifically thank our revered traditional rulers for the desire to work with the government as a united body. In our meeting with them, we made it specifically clear that there could be no meaningful development without the unity of the people, and they agreed to set the pace. We pray for sustainance of that will of our kings.

Beloved Okrikans, Okrika Nation is ours. No one can think of her more than we can. Let's therefore put all hands on deck and join the governor of Rivers State, HE. Sir. Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS to attract developments to our land.

Thank you, and God bless Okrika Nation.

Sir. Achese Igwe.
