SMEDAN Business Support Centre Osogbo Osun State is a Federal government agency under the Federal Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment saddled with the development of Nano, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises within Osun State and its environs. The State Manager of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), Osun State, Dr. Samuel Adebola, facilitated a session on Idea Generation and Innovation during the boot camp of beneficiaries of the Folorunso Awomolo Mentorship and Entrepreneurship Project (FAME) at Hill Top Hotel, Ilesa on 12th August, 2026. The session equipped participants with practical approaches to generating viable business ideas, identifying opportunities and developing innovative solutions to market needs.
Dr. Adebola emphasised that successful entrepreneurship begins with the ability to identify problems and create value-driven solutions. He encouraged the beneficiaries to embrace creativity, innovation and continuous learning as essential tools for building sustainable enterprises.
The interactive session featured practical discussions and active participation, reinforcing the importance of innovation in driving entrepreneurship, employment and economic growth.

SMEDAN, Osun State Office, participated in a two-day Entrepreneurship Development Training under the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) Programme at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Ede, on 11th –12th August 2026. The training equipped Corps Members with skills to identify opportunities, build viable businesses, and become self reliant. SMEDAN State Manager, Dr. Samuel Adebola facilitated sessions on idea development, market analysis, business planning and financial management. He emphasized that entrepreneurship requires knowledge, discipline, and value creation beyond ideas and capital. Corps Members actively engaged in discussions on turning skills into business ventures.
The programme also highlighted the role of MSMEs in economic development and available support systems. It ended with renewed interest in entrepreneurship, with SMEDAN reaffirming its commitment to youth empowerment and MSME growth in Osun State.
The SMEDAN–NYSC SAED partnership remains a key platform for preparing young Nigerians to create jobs and build sustainable enterprises.
