GOOD MORNING AND THANK YOU ALL , I,PRINCESS CALISTA ANENE AHMED, FACILITATOR AND INITIATOR OF OGUTA LGA ANTI DRUG CONSUMPTION CAMPAIGN FLAGGED OFF YESTERDAY 18TH DECEMBER, 2021 AT OGUTA CIVIC CENTER

I sincerely thank all our hardworking Autonomous community youth leaders ,our speakers, our leaders, our Royal father's ,our parents and our targeted audience (youths)for honouring our invitation as we begin our collective war against drug abuse through persuasive approach and sensitization campaign.I resolved to take the bull by the horns by reaching out to our youths to team up with me in pursuing this noble cause of mobilizing forces to make Oguta drug free.

This laudable initiative of declaring war against drug abuse should be everybody's business and am glad that our youths under the auspices of Autonomous Community Youth Presidents of Oguta LGA bought into the project to advance the cause as the most strategic segment at the grassroots with enormous capacity to do the needful.I see this venture worthwhile and challenging but despite those challenges, I still deemed it pertinent to put everything at my disposal to make the project work.I believe there is nothing more important than nipping drug abuse in the bud by reaching out to our youth and galvanizing them to end social malaise.

I will be highly elated with the caliber of persons that will show interest in this crusade as we progress I am pleading with great personalities and our stakeholders to redoubled their efforts to be part of this project by joining us in prayers , helping with solutions and funding as their sprit direct them .I am pleading again that All hands should be on deck to make this noble objective come through. We must collaborate and nip this scourge in the bud and I rely on us, especially the leaders and youths.Yes we can!We have what it takes to convince our people to avoid the social malaise of drug addiction and peddling.

Thank you all for coming! I know you all , had safe journey back to your destinations ,.Lets consolidate on the gains of yesterday, today and do more exploits in mobilization. Yours

Princess Calista Anene-Ahmed

A Public Sensitization Campaign from the office of The Governor Via the SSA on Social Development and Humanitarian Services (Princess Calista Anene-Ahmed)

As part my dedication in supoorting our PERFORMING Gov .Dist Senator Hope Uzodimma in improving The well-being,by alliviating suffering and maintaing dignity of Imo people in all areas
Today I am discussing the high price of Sachet Water ,Popularly known as Pure water” Pure Water” it’s high Price, Socio-Economic Implications and substitution in Imo state and Nigeria

- Majority of the houses in Imo State depend on sachet water as a source of drinking water.
- There has been a recent strike action by the sachet water manufacturers association in Imo State and this is affecting homes in the State.
- This strike action has caused a drastic increase in the cost of sachet water as a sachet which was initially sold for N10 is currently sold at N20; also, a bag of sachet water which was initially sold for N150 now goes for between N200 and N250.
- This price increase has made it difficult for many individuals and homes to afford portable drinking water making them resort to other sources of contaminated drinking water which may expose them to diseases like cholera, dysentery, diarrhea and typhoid etc.
- As the State Government works towards resolving this problem and ensuring a healthy populace, Imolites are advised to use water purification methods before drinking tap water or water from other sources.

WATER PURIFICATION METHODS
(1) Boiling: The longer the water stays at a "rolling boil", the more likely it is that any dangerous bacteria will be killed off. The minimum suggested period of rolling boil is 1 minute but 10 minutes is recommended to be safe.
(2) Filteration: Filters require you to manually pump water through a filtration device. They can be clunky and a little fiddly due to the number of parts they contain, but if used effectively, can filter upwards of 1.5 litres per minute.
(3) Purification Tablets or Drops: Water purification tablets and drops make use of chemicals to kill off bacteria lurking in your water. Iodine, chlorine and chlorine-dioxide are the most common chemicals used.
(4) Combination of Filtering and Disinfection: Other than boiling, filteration and disinfection used in combination provide the most effective pathogen reduction in untreated water.

This is a government sensitization campaign from the Senior special Assistant on Social Development and Humantrian services ,Hon Princess Calista Anene-Ahmed to Imolites malaria.

She went on to remind Imolites that While humanity is struggling with coronavirus outbreak, the world was observed Malaria Day On April 25th to highlight the importance of the fight against another life-threatening disease.

We all know that it is very easy and inexpensive to prevent deaths from malaria, people in Imo state and Nigeria are still suffering from it, Princess Anene-Ahmed says

The office of the Imo state government Joined the rest of the World to commemorate World Malaria Day to draw attention to the devastating impact of this disease on families, communities and societies. ... Every year over 400 000 people die of malaria,in Africa and 50% of these deaths occur in Nigeria

That day “World Malaria Day”was observed .it is annually to bring global attention to the efforts being made to bring an end to malaria, and encourage action to reduce suffering and death from the disease.

Malaria can be prevented by applying
Repellents on bare skin, and clothes can be treated. Other ways to avoid being bitten include burning mosquito coils or using heated insecticide mats in living and sleeping areas at night, and using insecticide-treated mosquito nets

Together, we need to move from the perception of malaria as a health problem, to understanding this disease as a threat to socio-economic development that requires a multisectoral response.

With an all-of-society response to draw the line against malaria, together, we can ensure Nigerian communities, societies, economies and individuals, prosper in good health and long life

The theme for this year is “Zero Malaria starts with me “– Lets Draw the Line Against Malaria” because every malaria case is preventable, and every malaria death is unacceptable.
