LATEST NEWS SPORTS
By Agency Report
On Oct 18, 2019
Arsenal defender Rob Holding has offered supporters a sneak peak into the club’s pre-match ritual.
The centre-back has been at the Emirates Stadium since 2016, so will have been part of many pre-match huddles with former players such as Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Furthermore, he will have many more experiences with the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Matteo Guendouzi and Mesut Ozil.
Although, Holding was a long way from the dressing room during the second half of last season due to injury.
But he’s back fit again – making two appearances this season – and has been answering questions about his recovery, the Gunners squad and much more ahead of Monday’s Premier League clash against Sheffield United.

During a Q&A session with Arsenal fans on Reddit, one supporter asked: ‘Hi Rob, simple question, who hypes up the squad before games, Or you just go in without all that and just focus?’
Prompting Holding to reveal all about the Gunners’ pre-match ritual.
“The whole team is together just before we go out and we have our final words and shout ‘Arsenal’ together three times in reply to ‘who are we?’
“That gets everyone hyped and I love that feeling!”
After featuring against Nottingham Forest and Standard Liege, Holding returned to a Premier League matchday squad for the first time since last December against Bournemouth before the international break.
He was an unused substitute as the Gunners kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 win.
Next up for Holding and Arsenal is a trip to Bramall Lane on Monday night to face a Sheffield United side which has already drawn away at Chelsea, beaten Everton at Goodison Park and lost narrowly against Liverpool.

The presidency has expressed optimism that with the bumper harvest expected from farmers, the price of a bag of rice would crash to N9,000.

This statement came from Lauretta Onochie who is the Social Media Aide to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Onochie was reacting to a report by a local daily that which quoted the president of the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN) Aminu Goronyo as saying that there is a bumper harvest of the food crop in the country.

In a tweet on her handle, Onochie noted that “Rice addicts like me, should expect a crash in the commodity’s price to about ₦9,000 per 50kg bag in 3 weeks, as rice farmers record a bumper harvest.

“Instead of paying 25,000 for “Foreign” Nigerian Rice, you will now have extra ₦16,000 towards other needs.”

Deji Adeyanju petitions EFCC over Tinubu’s election day bullion vans

Published

October 24, 2019

Eniola Akinkuotu, Abuja

Human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju, says he has taken up the challenge by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and had agreed to write a petition against National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu.

He said the petition will be submitted on Friday.

Adeyanju, who is the convener, Concerned Nigerians, said this in a Facebook post.

Adeyanju’s decision is coming barely a week after the EFCC had dared social media activist, Segun Awosanya, aka Segalink, to write a petition against Tinubu if he felt it was wrong of the APC leader to have had two bullion vans at his Bourdillon, Ikoyi, Lagos home on the eve of the presidential and National Assembly elections.

Adeyanju, who spent 78 days in custody between last December and March, said he was not confident that the EFCC would take action on the matter, but decided to take the action because it was the right thing to do.

He wrote, “We, Concerned Nigerians, are going to submit a petition to the EFCC on Friday about these bullion vans at Tinubu’s house on [the] eve of presidential elections, then wait to hear what excuse they will give again.

“We know they won’t take any action but we will submit the petition.”

The EFCC had been under fire on social media for failing to take action against Tinubu who admitted on live television that he, indeed, had money in the bullion vans whic

“Before this administration, we collected some loans and the one that strikes me the most is the $460m for CCTV installation in Abuja.

“I want to know the position of this loan. I am sure we are paying back, but the CCTV is not working.

“Any time we take loan from China, the Chinese will come and do the job, they will bring all their equipment, the personnel and the goods and yet we do not have value for the money, especially that of the CCTV.

“Where are we? I need you to look into it and send us a memo on this particular project,” he said.

Responding, the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, said Nigeria was servicing the loan but she had no explanations on the status of the project.

“We are servicing the loan, but on the project, we will have to ask the Federal Capital Territory Authority because the project was deployed in the FCT.

“I have no information on the status of the CCTV.

“The conditions of the loans that we take from China always will be that a Chinese company will provide the infrastructure services.

“These are loans that are of three per cent, the rail lines are being rolled out, the Abuja-Kaduna, Lagos-Ibadan rails are all loans from China and are being executed by Chinese companies,” she said.
