PATANI KEEPS IT CLEAN
AUGUST SANITATION EXERCISE HELD TODAY

Earlier today, August 29, 2026, Patani Local Government Council carried out its monthly environmental sanitation exercise under the directive of Executive Chairman Hon. Isaac Aguanah.

Leading the exercise is Supervisory Councillor for Environment Hon. Alaowei Bebeteidoh, alongside the Environmental Health Department HOD San. Mrs. Ado Ebinepre Goretti and Operations Officer Chief ThankGod Ado.

This month's spotlight: Aven/Koloware community, where two habits are hurting our roads and our image;
• Indiscriminate dumping of refuse on roadsides and medians
• Garri processing (squeezing) done right on the road, the corrosive juice eats into the road surface and leaves the area looking unkempt
Affected spots have been marked, and defaulters notified: clean up by Monday's inspection, or face the consequences.
Residents turned out to clear their surroundings and drainages and we appreciate every hand that helped.

This administration remains committed to a cleaner, safer, more attractive Patani — one exercise at a time.

PATANI LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL CHAIRMAN INTERVENES TO EASE TRAFFIC GRIDLOCK AT KOLOWARE/PATANI CHECKPOINT

Motorists plying the express road around the Police and Customs checkpoint near Koloware have been experiencing severe traffic congestion, caused by large potholes and breakdowns of trailers navigating the damaged stretch. The situation was worsened by the ongoing road construction in the area, with vehicles struggling to pass through Patani as a result.

Upon the matter being brought to his attention, Hon. Isaac Aguanah moved swiftly to address the problem, directing that stone base be laid to fill the potholes and restore free flow of traffic along the expressway, even though it does not fall under his jurisdiction.

Comr. Bebeteidoh Alaowei Williams (Supervisor, Environment) was assigned by the Council Chairman to supervise the exercise, which has since brought considerable relief to commuters and transporters using the route.

Thanks to our working Chairman for his swift intervention.
