& THE ADVOCATES SUMMIT with the theme: BUILDING THE NATION; THE ROLE OF THE LAWYER AS A SOCIO-LEGAL ENGINEER.
The Court is to the Lawyer as the Hospital to the Doctor.
The above is in line with the solemn mandate of the Attorney General to avail primarily Lawsanites the opportunity of acquainting themselves with the modus operandi and rudiments of judicial proceedings as well as fostering intimacy between the law and the lawyers in Equity. This is what the JTF01 from 1st -3rd, Nov. 2021 aims to achieve. The Highcourt of the State, Federal Highcourt, National Industrial Court, Magistrate Court, Law Libraries inter alia shall be visited by some members of all levels in the faculty of Law.
The Advocates Summit billed to hold on Friday, 5th November, 2021 is open to all and it's the first of it's kind.
The Summit is borne of the imperative need to build not just lawyers of National Impact but Proactive Citizens of positive national and international impact.
Distinguished Personalities already building the Nation in their own quota would be experienced and their strides in building the Nation unveiled in order to inspire and motivate us. The summit also features some side attractions such as spoken word presentation, interview session, Inter Chambers Competition, comedy, award presentation amongst others.

This wonderful initiative will be launched with a 1-day symposium tagged *The Legal Clinic: A Tool For Effective Advocacy* .

This Symposium organized by the Emeritus PRO, Maxwell A. Maxwell (Jr)of this Chambers was a success for which we are grateful to God. Fortiori, we appreciate the effort of everyone who made it so. Thanks to the Brilliant Speakers for their impartation.

The police uniform under any particular tasksquad shouldn't be a disguise to perpetuate lawlessness and extrajudicial acts.
When the purpose of a thing isn't known, abuse is inevitable. The essence of the police is to safeguard and protect lives and properties not rob society of same mandated to protect.

B. M. WIFA BRAINSTORMING FACTS
3rd August 2020
David Joe, a well known celebrity, didn't feel he was living up to his full potential being a man, so he arranged for a full body surgery to transform him to a woman a year ago.
Now being a transgender, he's very attractive to men.
On the 24th March 2020, he went to visit a friend Golden Thomas, who was attracted to what he could see. Thomas made advances at Joe who resisted them. Thomas in a curious manner then forced himself on Joe and had carnal knowledge of him.
Joe, aggrieved, reported to the police, making a r**e claim.
The police only laughed and said according to Law, a man could not be r**ed.
Joe, being an assaulted transgender now feels excluded and has come to you as a lawyer....
Advice him bearing in Mind the following issues:
1: Whether given his gender, the Law recognizes him as a potential r**e victim.
2. Whether the offender could be convicted on a charge other than r**e.
3. Would your position remain thesame if the incidence occured in FCT, Abuja?
Do render your legal or jurisprudential opinions... We would like to know your thought on this...
