'In dire circumstances JESUS IS LORD''

01/07/2017

As we take the hymnal for this special Day of rededication let us also be guided by the word of the Lord in Proverbs 16:20 -
"He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he"

1 When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his Word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there's no other way
to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey.

2 But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
and the joy he bestows
are for them who will trust and obey. [Refrain]

3 Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we'll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go -
never fear, only trust and obey. [Refrain]

Beloved , May the name of Jehovah Almighty be praised for leading us all safely through the first half of the year 2017, our year of restoration .
As we begin our journey into the second and last half of the year, it is pertinent to remind the church that in attracting desired accomplishments God should be put as First in all our endeavors. Our priority should be to please JEHOVAH our God , for the joy of the Lord is our strength ;
Nehemiah 8:10- "Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength".

Also God's word in Exodus 19:5- Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

Keeping the Lord's covenant implies obeying his commandments. May our hearts be inclined to do this in Jesus name , amen .

Day 31- Friday March 31, 2017

Memory verse - Psalm 24:14
"The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant".
Today's Topic:
Where Does your Anchor Hold ?
Bible reading - Numbers 14:1-23

1. And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.

2. And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!

3. And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?

4. And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.

5. Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.

6. And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes:

7. And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land.

8. If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.

9. Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.

10. But all the congregation bade stone them with stones. And the glory of the LORD appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel.

11. And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them?

12. I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they.

13. And Moses said unto the LORD, Then the Egyptians shall hear it, (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;)

14. And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.

15. Now if thou shalt kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying,

16. Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.

17. And now, I beseech thee, let the power of my LORD be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying,

18. The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.

19. Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.

20. And the LORD said, I have pardoned according to thy word:

21. But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.

22. Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;

23. Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:

24. But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.

Beloved , where does your anchor truly hold ? The first quarter of the year is over today and it is time for us to review our relationship and faith in the Lord so far . Do we allow our circumstances to weigh us down and thus make us blaspheme the name of the Most High? We shouldn't toe the path of the children of Israel who never truly trusted in the power of Jehovah God but were rather blinded by the perceived problems before them. We should have a TOTAL BELIEF in our God and strictly rely on his grace to deliver , provide and protect us . There is a reward in blasphemy and a reward for fully following Jesus !

Do have a blessed week end

Day 30 - Wed March 30, 2017
Today's Psalm 47
Main bible reading - Proverbs 8:11-19
Message - Wisdom brings much gain

11. For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.
12. I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.
13. The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
14. Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.
15. By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
16. By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.
17. I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
18. Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.
19. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.

Beloved , as we step out into this day with the garment of honor , mercy , favor etc , let us also be cautious of verse 13 of Provers 8 in order not to Corrupt the glorious garment me wear today
(The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate)

Be careful for nothing brethren !

Happy Thursday

Day 25- March 25, 2017
Today's Psalm is #11

Today's message - TO FAITH ADD WORKS
Memory verse - James 1:27
"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world".

Main reading : James 2:1-20
1. My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
2. For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
3. And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
4. Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
5. Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
6. But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?
7. Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?
8. If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
9. But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
10. For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
12. So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
13. For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
14. What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15. If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16. And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17. Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
19. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Beloved to be pure spiritually we need to care for one another . Love matters a great deal. From the scripture above , we are instructed to treat every one equally , no partiality . See also verses 15&16- If you are in a position to help any brethren materially JUST DO IT.

Blessed morning to you all.

Day 23- Thurs March 23, 2017
Today's Psalm- 27

Lesson : Joy of the New Life
Bible reading : Philippians 3:7-10

7. But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
8. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
9. And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
10. That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

Beloved the knowledge and true acceptance of Our Lord Jesus brings so much joy into our lives . St Paul realized all that he had missed when he didn't know the Lord. Let us therefore continue in our spiritual commitment this season and as written in the scripture ; "all the things of the world are nothing to be compared to the knowledge of Christ and There is great power in his resurrection"

Continue ye in this devotion.

God bless

Today's Psalm - 15
Today's message - Casting all your care upon him; for he Careth for you

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
‭‭(1 Peter‬ ‭5:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬)
Thank the almighty for giving you the assurance that you can rely on Him totally for all your needs. This morning the Lord will grant you peace of mind and grace to surrender all your burdens to him. May He reward your efforts with fruitful results in Jesus Name Amen.

And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.”
‭‭(2 Chronicles‬ ‭31:21 kJV)
As you serve the Almighty God wholeheartedly with your time, He will reward you and make things easier for you. You will work little but reap bountifully in Jesus name.

Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.
‭‭(Prov 22:29‬ ‭KJV‬‬)
As you show integrity in all that is committed into your hands, may God grant you favour before kings.

Today's Psalm #27
Lesson : Remain spiritually connected
Bible reading -John 15:1-7

1. I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
7. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Beloved , you cannot make a call or surf the internet if you don't recharge your line . We are also automatically disconnected once we fail to pay for our DSTV subscription. Let us also do what's needed to stay connected to our maker who by his grace keeps us alive and makes provisions for us. We need to
1. Pray without ceasing
2. Continue in the current fast
3. Attend church services
4. Daily study and meditate on the word of God (this is key)
5. Pay your tithes and offerings . We have to take this more serious than we take our PHCN, DSTV and mobile network bills.

May the Lord grant us a very special blessing and spiritual uplifting this week. Amen

Day 17- Friday March 17, 2017
Today's Psalm- #17
Lesson- Effects of Impatience

Bible reading - Gen 16:1-6
1. Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.
2. And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.
3. And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife.
4. And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.
5. And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the LORD judge between me and thee.
6. But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face.

Beloved, impatience turns us away from the true route to our destiny into situations that impact negatively on us . Sarah's impatience on God's promise brought about a problem in the family and a seed which gave rise to a people who would never walk in the ways of Jehovah God. We are still having the negative effects of that action in the world today; Ishmael's descendants. Impatience sends us outside of God's plan.

Also note that our impatience cannot change who God is neither can it alter His strong divine master plan - Let's see Gen 21:12
And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.

God maintained his strong will and master plan.

Additional prayer points
1. Father grant me full understanding of your will and cause me to patiently wait on your promise.
2. Forgive me of all the wrong moves I've made in the past and redirect me to your master plan concerning my life and destiny

Good morning and stay lifted !

DAY 16 - Thursday March 16 "17

Today's Psalm- 136
Message - God dwells in our Praise
Bible reading - Psalm 22:3
"But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel"

Beloved as we continue in our devotion this period remember that praise and worship moves God to action. It should not only be prayers and requests to God alone . Sometimes you need to just praise him and hold your peace . Paul and Silas were not deterred by the dire situation they found themselves but rather opted to sing praises to God, an act which brought down the Holy Spirit and the angel of the Lord was assigned to miraculously lead them out of the fortified prison walls to freedom . As we also praise God today may God cause us to have that miraculous breakthrough and all round freedom in Jesus name, Amen .
The Lord also instructed the Israelites to march round the city of Jericho in praise with the trumpets and then shout out with the voice of victory. We all know how the wall of Jericho fell without a hand touching it. Today, Jehovah will cause that supernatural power to move in your behalf in Jesus Mighty name , Amen !
Be lifted !

Today's Hymn- I've reached the land of corn and wine

I've reached the land of corn and wine,
And all it's riches freely mine;
Here shines undimmed one blissful day,
For all my night has passed away.
Chorus:
O Beuhla Land, sweet Beuhla Land,
As on thy highest mount I stand,
O look away across the sea,
Where mansions are prepared for me,
And view the shining glory-shore,
My heav'n, my home for evermore!

My Savior comes and walks with me,
And sweet communion here have we;
He gently leads me by His hand,
For this is heaven's border-land.
Chorus:
A sweet perfume upon the breeze
Is borne from ever-vernal trees,
And flow'rs, that never-fading grow
Where streams of life forever flow.
Chorus:

The zephyrs seem to float to me
Sweet sounds of heaven's melody,
As angels with the white-robed throng
Join in the sweet redemption song.
Chorus:

Day 15- Wed 15 March, 2017
Today's Psalm - #84
LESSON- Baptism of Fire
Key verse - Acts 1:5
"For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence"

Main Reading : Matt 3:1-11
1. In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
2. And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
3. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
4. And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.
5. Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,
6. And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
7. But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
8. Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
9. And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
10. And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
11. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Beloved , as we continue in our special communion with our Lord Jesus Christ there is need to meditate on the message as delivered by John the Baptist . Let us also send this message across to the world that ;
1. God still calls all men to true repentance , receive the Lord Jesus and be saved
2. Get baptized by water
3. Receive baptism of the Holy Spirit which is the BAPTISM OF FIRE

Baptism of fire is to receive the great gift of the Holy Spirit as was poured upon the apostles in Jerusalem. The baptism of fire changes one from inside out so that those who knew you before would see a great transformation and say 'It can only God'. The fire must be at work in you in order to become a true child of God. You must be a carrier of fire wherever you go. Fire attracts attention, therefore your life must attract attention. Let the world marvel at the glory of God being revealed in you in word and action.

May the Lord Jesus graciously baptize us with the fire of the Holy Spirit within this period. Also pray for spiritual top up this season . Victory Is Sure !

Pepple Samuel I (Bishop)

Today's hymn A&M533,SS&S762
Full Text
1 Jesus calls us: o'er the tumult
of our life's wild, restless sea;
day by day his sweet voice soundeth
saying, "Christian, follow me."
2 Jesus calls us from the worship
of the vain world's golden store,
from each idol that would keep us,
saying, "Christian, love me more."
3 In our joys and in our sorrows,
days of toil and hours of ease,
still he calls, in cares and pleasures,
"Christian, love me more than these."
4 Jesus calls us: by thy mercies,
Savior, may we hear thy call,
give our hearts to thy obedience,
serve and love thee best of all.

Today's hymn (March 14, 2017- Lenten Fast Day 14)
"My Hope is Built on Nothing Less"
by Edward Mote, 1797-1874
1. My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus' name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

2. When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

3. His oath, His covenant, and blood
Support me in the whelming flood;
When every earthly prop gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

4. When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found,
Clothed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne!
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

Beloved you may wish to know this
