As INEC took the shape of a Political party instead of that of the umpire, Obi's counsel this week presented a well packaged, tagged and arranged evidence from states it had won but were overturned by INEC.

In the mind of some Nigerians, Obi should JUST go and rest - forget about the court case. The pessimism of a gullible and docile citizen has caught up with them. "Accept everything as the will of God and pray that Tinubu's government will favour me and my family". That's the mentality that held us bound for years and the singular reason why laws are not working in Nigeria - prayers of a hypocritic life.

This is also the reason why a Local govt workforce will not earn salary for years even while their statutory monthly allocation are been disbursed, nobody cares to go court to challenge the state responsible for such evil. They are comfortable with it, typical of a gullible and docile citizenry.

Truly when sheeps are the citizens, the leaders become wolves.

What Peter Obi is doing is kicked against because of sentiment that calls evil good and good evil. Bloomberg and CNN thorough polls were conducted, Peter Obi led with a reasonable gap, they knew it was impossible to win so they boycotted the BVAS for presidential to enable them change results. Even when court ruled that INEC should give access for inspection of materials, they refused to grant access till now. Then somebody will come and be praying:

"May the govt favor me and my family"

The selfish mind is devilish the collective mind is godly. A godly citizen move for righteousness because that's the only remedy to change a nation.... You cannot change a nation without righteousness especially the fantastically corrupt one like Nigeria. If the law doesn't work, the country cannot work.

How can a country be comfortable with an umpire acting like a Political party? Yet you want thesame govt to favour you and your family. That's the prayers of a corrupt mind. It's as good as praying that God should make the armed robber to share what he has plundered with the owner of the plunder.... Totally evil and corrupt prayers

This is why a Local govt in Nigeria has more churches and mosques than a whole country abroad. Nothing to show for it. They pray for the plunderer to succeed so that the owner of the plunder doesn't catch the plunderer. You pray for the man who gives bribe to succeed so that his bribe will be accepted by the authority.

What a mentality? How can you build a working system without a working law? Your laws must work for your country to progress. The people who kill your refineries and build their own abroad are thesame people clamouring for subsidy removal because you were a sheep for them to be wolves that's why anybody you see challenging evil is a fool to you.

The real victory of an election is not in the declaration of a candidate but in the fairness of the process. The credibility of the process is the real victory of a collective populace that voted. Once the judiciary fail to facilitate the evidence to justice by way of taking bribe, the common man becomes hopeless.

Please keep safe and plan ahead beyond the Corona Virus pandemic...

Initially, I declined making comments, primarily because I have never witnessed a health pandemic of this nature before. However, after much promptings, I dug into my finance theories bags, and came up with the following comments/forecasts:

1. Future Income
2. Expenditures
3. Debts
4. Assets/Investments

*FUTURE INCOME:
Whether you like it or not, your current level of income cannot be guaranteed into the distant future. Yes, for the next one to three months, but if this pandemic continues, I foresee organizations telling their staff that they can only pay half or quarter or zero salary until things get back to normal.

For this reason, my advice is that you should guard whatever money you have jealously because if the pandemic persists, many businesses will collapse, and the multiplier effects will be great.

As I write, some establishments have even asked their employees to commence some weeks of leave without pay. But then, usually, during or after a crisis like the one we are witnessing, new businesses will also spring up as learnings from the crisis. More people will be hired on part- time basis and many businesses will be conducted on-line etc. Existing businesses may be remodelled.

*EXPENDITURES:
Interestingly, expenses will be on the rise! The problem here is that "fixed" expenses like food items and medicines will continue to rise due to their scarcity (whether real or artificial) . Other expenses like rent (for those in rented apartments), electricity, transportation, fuel, toiletries, etc. will also be affected. As basic and trivial as bathing soap or toothpaste are, their prices may also rise.

At this point in time, there is need to review your living/survival expenses. Frugal spending should take the place of reckless or spontaneous spending. Proper/rational planning should be in place now. If you think it's going to rain
for forty days and forty night but goes to ninety days and ninety nights, what will happen?

I tell family & friends to plan for a MINIMUM of six months. If a solution is found to the problem that we are experiencing now (a vaccine), then the better for everyone.

*DEBTS:
Taking and spending money borrowed is equivalent to spending future income today. With the prevailing global uncertainty, this is evidently the worst time to borrow ..., except of course for survival! For businesses, this is the wrong period for borrowing and doing so will be tantamount to business su***de.

Any individual that borrows for the purpose of starting a new business or for expansion of its existing business may be in for a rough time. Except your business is in the food chain, and other essential or fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), then it will be unwise to borrow now.

Meanwhile, if you do not have money to stock your house with food under the current situation, please look for friendly loan to do so. However, a salary advance from the bank is not the right decision to make. I must also add that borrowing to invest in capital assets at this time is also not the right path to take.

*ASSETS/ INVESTMENTS:
It is time to begin to reap what has been sown... It is also the time to sow slowly or sparingly. It is the time to take a critical look at different available seeds and be selective in sowing them.

Some investments will continue to drop fruits despite this pandemic while some are already in jeopardy and their value nearly wiped out. Very soon, we will begin to see many tenants owing landlords. So if you are planning based on expected rental income, please develop plan B).

We will continue to see the value of companies’ equity shares crashing, foreign currencies losing value, exchange rate of Naira to other currencies will continue to worsen, etc. Be cautious how you invest your money at this time so that you do not burn your fingers.

The general advice is to put your money in an investment that will at least retain its value even if it does not grow.
