The Young Lawyers Forum (YLF), Port Harcourt Branch, led by its Chairman, IBIM DON BRIGG’S, Esq. and the Executive committee members was at the Stop the Cycle Global Summit 2026 on Friday, 2nd October 2026, at Suntaal Event Centre, along SARS Road, Rivers State.

NBA PORTHARCOURT SEPTEMBER MEETING ~ DR. CHINEDU MADUBA LED EXCO DELIVERS ON HEALTH CARE WELFARE

The statutory monthly meeting of the Nigerian Bar Association, Portharcourt Branch, was held on Wednesday the 23rd of September, 2026. The meeting, which usually holds every last Thursday of the month, coincided with the new legal year opening ceremony and necessitated the backwards shift of the Branch’s September meeting.

One of the exciting and most commended viewpoints of the September meeting was the “FREE MEDICAL CHECKS FOR MEMBERS.”

The initiative, which is part of the administration’s commitment to prioritizing the health and well-being of members, was widely commended by members of the branch.

Members enjoyed a Free Medical Check conducted by qualified medical personnel, covering Blood Pressure, Malaria Parasite, Fasting/Random Blood Sugar, and PVC (packed cell volum). It is also recorded that a medical doctor was on ground and gave instant prescriptions upon the conclusion of the checks.

The chairman, Dr Chinedu Samuel Maduba, reiterated that the health of members remains a top priority of his administration and assured that more welfare-driven programmes will be rolled out in the coming months.

With profound gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility, we sincerely thank every member of the NBA Young Lawyers Forum, Port Harcourt, for the confidence reposed in us to serve as your executives for the 2024–2026 administration.

Leadership is a call to service, and we did not take this opportunity for granted. Your trust inspired us to remain committed to advancing the interests of young lawyers, promoting professional excellence, fostering meaningful engagement, and creating opportunities that will positively impact our members and the legal community at large.

We acknowledge the support of our seniors, mentors, colleagues, and all stakeholders whose guidance and encouragement continue to shape our vision.

Let us continue to build on existing achievements, strengthen our collective voice, and create a Forum that every young lawyer will be proud to call home.
