PRESS RELEASE: ADC Saki-West Mourns the Passing of Legendary Cultural Icon, Baba Alabi Ogundepo

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Saki-West Local Government Chapter, through the office of the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Alhaji Salaudeen, expresses deep sorrow over the passing of our revered elder, legendary Ijala poet, and the composer of the historic Saki Anthem, Chief Alabi Ogundepo.

Baba Alabi Ogundepo was an invaluable asset to the Saki community, Oyo State, and the entire Yoruba cultural heritage.

His masterful deployment of poetry, wisdom, and leadership elevated our traditions globally. His transition leaves a massive vacuum that will be incredibly difficult to fill. We send our deepest sympathies to the immediate family of the deceased, the literary community, and the entire good people of Saki Land.

May the Almighty grant his loved ones the immense strength to bear this monumental loss.

Sun re o, Baba Alabi Ogundepo! Your monumental legacy and melodies will live forever in our hearts.

Signed:
Alhaji Salaudeen
Public Relations Officer (PRO)
