*ARREST OF SUSPECTED VANDALS AT AMUZUKWU PRIMARY SCHOOL*

The Abia State Homeland Security Agency has apprehended a group of suspected vandals caught in the act of vandalizing the roofing structure of Amuzukwu Primary School.

The suspects were apprehended early this morning following a coordinated operation by our operatives and the Amuzukwu Vigilante group. Their swift response and cooperation led to the successful interception of the suspects.

The apprehended suspects have since been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for thorough investigation and subsequent legal proceedings.

The Agency unequivocally condemns all acts of vandalism and reiterates its zero-tolerance stance against the destruction of public infrastructure. Measures are being intensified to safeguard government facilities and maintain public order across the state.

Members of the public are hereby enjoined to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies without delay.

OFFICIAL PRESS STATEMENT

The management of Abia State Homeland Security Agency wishes to address a matter of urgent public concern regarding the involvement of one of the agency’s personnel, DDL Tochi Oluebube in an incident of vandalism of government property at Osisioma Local Government Area.

The Agency has zero tolerance for acts of indiscipline perpetrated by any personnel. This act of vandalism allegedly involving the named personnel will therefore not be an exception. The officer in question is currently suspended pending a full investigation with the Nigerian Police Force. She will be dealt with in line with the extant Code of Conduct for personnel of the agency once the police concludes their investigation.

The public is hereby assured that the investigation will be thorough, transparent, and impartial. This will be done in liaison with relevant authorities to ensure that the matter is resolved swiftly and justice is served.

The general public is once more reminded that the agency is committed to safeguarding the lives and properties of Abian's and upholding the rule of law. Actions inimical to the agency’s mission to protect and serve the people of Abia State, in line with the mandate of his Excellency, the Executive Governor of the state, Dr Alex Chioma Otti OFR, will not be tolerated.

ABIA STATE HOMELAND SECURITY AGENCY – ABIA CENTRAL OFFICERS INVESTITURE ACTIVITIES
Date: 2nd April 2026

Today marked the turn of Abia Central Senatorial District, as all six (6) Local Government Areas within the zone were fully represented. Eligible personnel across the LGAs were duly screened and ranked prior to the commencement of the formal Investiture Ceremony, which was held at the Umuahia South Local Government Council Headquarters.

In line with established protocol, the leadership of the Agency paid a courtesy visit to the Number One Citizen of Umuahia South, Hon. Chinedu Enwereuzo, Mayor of Umuahia South Local Government Area.

The delegation was led by the Commander General, accompanied by members of his executive arm, the Abia Central Area Commander, and all six (6) Local Government Commanders within the zone.

The meeting was brief but productive, as the Mayor expressed appreciation for the visit, commended the efforts of the Agency, and assured his readiness to collaborate in strengthening security and development across the State.

OFFICERS’ INVESTITURE CEREMONY

The highlight of the day’s operations was the formal investiture of officers within the Abia Central Senatorial District, carried out in line with established command procedures and institutional standards.

The exercise centered on the decoration of qualified personnel with official rank insignia, marking the transition from general duty roles into positions of defined authority and responsibility within the Agency’s operational structure.

Beyond rank elevation, the investiture signified a structured assumption of command, where officers are now entrusted with supervisory control, field coordination, and tactical leadership across their respective jurisdictions.

Personnel drawn from all six (6) Local Government Areas who satisfied the service requirements were formally presented and affirmed, reflecting their progression into roles that demand increased discipline, operational awareness, and leadership capacity.

Cadres impacted include:

Supervisory Command Structure: Officers responsible for oversight, coordination, and administrative control

Field Coordination Units: Team Leads, Assistant Team Leads, and Troop Leaders charged with direct operational ex*****on

Core Operational Base: Troopers serving as the primary enforcement and response force of the Agency

The ceremony was conducted under the authority of the Commander General, supported by the executive leadership and zonal command structure, ensuring full compliance with agency protocol.

This investiture establishes a clear chain of command, strengthens internal coordination, and enhances the overall operational readiness of personnel within Abia Central.

ABIA STATE HOMELAND SECURITY AGENCY – ABIA NORTH OFFICERS INVESTITURE CEREMONY
Date: 1st April 2026

Prior to the commencement of the Investiture Ceremony, the leadership of the Abia State Homeland Security Agency conducted a courtesy visit to the Greater Ohafia Development Authority (GODA), led by Engr Obinna ODUM.

The delegation, headed by the Commander General, included the Deputy Commander General, Director of Logistics, Deputy Director of Logistics, Abia North Sector Commander, and other senior personnel of the Agency.

The visit featured strategic discussions on potential collaboration between GODA and the Homeland Security Agency, emphasizing joint efforts to enhance security across all localities under the Authority’s jurisdiction.

Following the visit, the Abia North Officers’ Investiture Ceremony was formally held, wherein eligible personnel were decorated with their new insignia and officially commissioned into their operational ranks.

The ceremony reinforced principles of protocol, discipline, and responsibility, marking the formal transition of officers into positions of command and field authority. Officers from all Local Government Areas within the zone, who have completed six (6) or more years of active service, were recognized for their dedication, discipline, and unwavering commitment to the Agency’s mission.

Ranks elevated during the investiture include:

It is with deep sorrow that the Abia State Homeland Security Agency announces the untimely passing of one of our personnel, Mr. Ikenna Onuoha of Umuoko Amuzukwu Ibeku, who served under the Umuahia North Command.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. His dedication, loyalty, and service to duty will always be remembered.
The Agency assures the general public that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure that those responsible for this tragic loss are brought to justice.

COMMANDER GENERAL VISITS UMUAHIA SOUTH COMMAND FOR OFFICIAL HANDOVER AND DECORATION

The Commander General of the Abia State Homeland Security Agency paid an official visit to Umuahia South Command in continuation of ongoing command restructuring and operational strengthening across the State.
The visit featured the formal handover of command responsibilities and critical operational documents to the newly appointed Commander, Commander Enwerem Chisom, marking a significant step in ensuring continuity, accountability, and effective leadership within the Command.
In his address, the Commander General highlighted the strategic progress recorded by Umuahia South Command over the years, while reaffirming the Agency’s commitment to discipline, professionalism, and service delivery.
A key highlight of the visit was the decoration of the Operations Commander, Chukwudi Nwaubani, charged with the responsibility of coordinating and driving operational activities within the Command.
Personnel of the Command were charged to remain vigilant, disciplined, and fully aligned with the Agency’s operational standards, while giving maximum support to the new leadership to ensure seamless command transition and enhanced security service delivery.
The Commander General further emphasized strict adherence to established laws, operational protocols, and ethical standards guiding the Agency.
