CALEB ANI HAILS MBAH'S THREE YEARS OF IMPACTFUL GOVERNANCE
The Executive Chairman of Enugu South Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Caleb Ani, has congratulated the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, on the occasion of his third anniversary in office, describing his administration as a defining period of impactful governance anchored on bold reforms, infrastructural renewal, and measurable development outcomes.
In a goodwill message issued to mark the anniversary, Ani said Governor Mbah has institutionalised result-oriented governance built on innovation, discipline, economic expansion, and human capital development.
He said the administration has significantly altered the developmental trajectory of the state through reforms, large-scale infrastructure projects, aggressive economic policies, and a governance style driven by performance indicators rather than political expression.
Ani expressed appreciation to the governor for the opportunity to serve the people of Enugu South, noting that the achievements recorded in the local government were made possible through the governor’s support, mentorship, and enabling environment.
He said, “Your Excellency, history will remember your administration as one that redefined governance in Enugu State through courage, vision, administrative competence, and uncommon political will. Your leadership has inspired a new culture of productivity, accountability, and developmental urgency across all tiers of government in the state.”
The council chairman described the governor’s governance model as a practical demonstration of transformational leadership rooted in strategic planning, institutional reforms, and people-centred development.
He noted that within three years, the Mbah administration has embarked on what he described as one of the most ambitious infrastructural and economic transformation programmes in the state’s history, citing ongoing road construction and dualisation, transport infrastructure modernisation, investments in Smart Green Schools, healthcare revitalisation, water schemes, security architecture, and digital economy initiatives.
Ani commended the administration’s education reforms, including the establishment of Smart Green Schools across all wards, describing it as a landmark intervention aimed at repositioning the state as a knowledge-driven economy.
He also praised the government’s healthcare reforms, particularly the construction and upgrade of Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres across wards, saying it reflects a commitment to accessible and equitable healthcare delivery.
The chairman further lauded the government’s security interventions, including the deployment of surveillance systems, patrol vehicles, and command-and-control infrastructure, which he said have improved public safety and boosted investor confidence.
Speaking on Enugu South, Ani said the council has witnessed enhanced development through road rehabilitation, urban renewal projects, improved sanitation, street lighting, market upgrades, youth empowerment programmes, and social intervention schemes.
He added that the state’s economic agenda has stimulated commercial activities within the local government, creating opportunities for traders, artisans, transport operators, and young entrepreneurs.
Ani also noted that Governor Mbah’s plan to grow the state’s economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion is a structured economic blueprint already showing results through increased investment inflows, infrastructure expansion, and improved business confidence.
He described the governor as a courageous reformer whose leadership aligns with global governance best practices.
“In only three years, Ndi Enugu have witnessed a transition from conventional governance to a modern system driven by innovation, speed, transparency, efficiency, and economic productivity. Governor Mbah has shown that governance can be a tool for real transformation when guided by vision and discipline,” he said.
Ani reaffirmed the support of the people of Enugu South for the governor’s administration and pledged continued grassroots partnership in achieving its development agenda.
He prayed for divine wisdom, strength, and greater accomplishments for the governor as he continues in office.

Gov Mbah Unveils Re-equipped Neonatal Ward in Parklane Hospital
…As Jim Nwobodo Rallies Support, Insists Mbah Deserves Re-election
Governor of Enugu State, Dr Peter Mbah, has unveiled the newly renovated and re-equipped Neonatal and Special Babies Ward at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology Teaching Hospital (ESUTH), Parklane, Enugu, as part of the activities marking the 2026 Children’s Day celebration.
The facility, upgraded through the intervention of the Cecilia Oyebola Foundation founded by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Health, Dr Yomi Jaye, is equipped with modern incubators, infusion and syringe pumps, phototherapy equipment, autoclave machines, baby monitoring devices and upgraded nursing facilities aimed at improving neonatal care and reducing infant mortality in the state.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, Governor Mbah, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, commended Dr Jaye for his commitment and personal sacrifice towards advancing healthcare delivery in Enugu State.
According to the governor, the intervention reflected the culture of collective responsibility and service championed by his administration, where government officials go beyond official duties to contribute personally to the development of the state.
He described Dr Jaye, who also marked his 51st birthday, as a humble and exemplary public servant whose humanity and dedication had continued to inspire confidence in the administration’s healthcare transformation agenda.
Governor Mbah noted that the state government had transformed the ESUT Teaching Hospital from what it met in 2023 into a modern and rapidly improving medical institution capable of competing with leading healthcare facilities across the country.
He stressed that his administration remained committed to building a world-class healthcare system through strategic investments in infrastructure, equipment and manpower development.
In his remarks, former Governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo, lauded Governor Mbah for what he described as unprecedented transformation in the health sector, insisting that the governor deserved overwhelming support for re-election in 2027.
Nwobodo, who cut the ribbon and performed the unveiling ceremony, alongside his wife, Dr. Patricia Nwobodo, said he was deeply impressed by the quality of facilities at the neonatal ward, stressing that he had hardly seen such standards even in some hospitals abroad.
He stated that the development contradicted criticisms from political opponents and further confirmed that the Mbah administration was delivering tangible results across sectors.
Also speaking, Dr Jaye said the project was inspired by his lifelong commitment to children’s welfare and in memory of his late mother, who was a teacher.
He explained that the renovated neonatal ward was designed to meet modern infection prevention protocols critical to newborn survival, recalling the painful loss of his almost twin brother due to infection-related complications.
He said the intervention aligned with Governor Mbah’s vision of transforming healthcare delivery through preventive and patient-centred care, adding that the state government’s investments in hospitals, primary healthcare and medical training had continued to reposition Enugu as a leading healthcare destination.
Earlier, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Prof. Bethrand Ngwu, expressed gratitude to Governor Mbah and Dr Jaye for their consistent interventions and support for the hospital, staff and patients.
He said the administration’s investments had significantly improved healthcare delivery and boosted staff morale within the institution.
Prof. Ngwu assured that the newly installed facilities would be properly maintained and maximally utilised for the benefit of residents, particularly newborns and vulnerable patients requiring specialised care, while pledging the hospital’s continued commitment to quality healthcare services.
