Thank You, Jesus, for being ever so faithful.

Thank You, Jesus, for keeping us till now- my friends and I- keeping us till now and making us see another month of August.

Lord Jesus, we do not take this for granted at all. It is so uncommon for a human to be alive. It is You that has made the uncommon, common. And so today, on behalf of my friends and me, I have come to say, Thank You, Jesus, for being ever faithful. Thank You, Jesus!

Welcome to August, folks. Guess what? Jesus is still on the throne and so because Jesus is still on the throne, your matter is not lost. Just hang in there. You will testify soon. Hugs.

N.B: There will be no Miracles and Power Night this month of August. However, please scan the QR code to share your testimonies. Thank you for reaching out to me one-on-one to share your testimonies, but truly, you will be helping me big time if you scan the QR code and drop your testimonies in the form that comes up. Thanks a lot for your support.

Happy New Month, Folks.

Welcome to July.

Welcome to the 2nd half of the year.

Welcome to the beginning of the 3rd quarter.

This second half of the year, you will sing a new song and dance a new dance in Jesus' mighty name.

Scream a believing, "Thank You, Jesus", to thank Him for what He's done so far and for what He is set to do for you.

Don't lose faith...Be Expectant.

Isaiah 26: 4- Trust in the Lord forever,
For in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength.

That's for someone out there. Let me throw in verse 3 too:

"You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You".

Let your mind stay on God, not on the situation and circumstances around you.

Hugs!

School of Politics, Policy and Governance (Cohort 4)

For the past 5 months, I have been in a Specialized School called SPPG, an acronym for School of Politics, Policy and Governance. Before we began Sessions in November, I kept hearing that the School is tedious, hectic, and time-consuming. I was like, “ki lo le to to yen”, a Yoruba phrase for, “it cannot be as hard as that”, but alas, five months into it and indeed, it’s been pretty intensive.
- -- - -
So, I applied and forgot about it. Months later, in the month of August, I received an email that I had been given admission:

“Dear ADENIKE COMFORT OLUMIDE-EMMANUEL

Congratulations, you have been admitted into SPPGClassof2023. Find attached your Admission letter and Scholarship contract”.
- - - - -
Several correspondences came in, in quick successions as the weeks went by. We were to have our Matriculation end of October and begin classes in the month of November with something called “Acculturation”. I needed to go find the meaning of the word…Smiles. I was given a 50% discount.
- - - - -
The School was to be on for 10 months, Tuesdays to Fridays with Mondays and Saturdays coming in, every now and then. We were to go through 24 Modules with 140 topics. We are halfway in.
So, far, we’ve had the likes of, Frank Nweke II, Aisha Yesufu, Dr. Doyin Salami, Dr. Usman Bugaje, Prof. Jibrin Ibrahim, Kah Walla, Abubakar Suleiman, Dr. Sam Adeyemi, Prof. Chidi Odinkalu, Dr. Amina Salihu, Tonye Cole, Prof. Stella Madueme, and the Ezekwesili Twins, just to mention a few take us in Class. We have Prof. Yetunde Anibaba as our dean, Mrs. Alero Ayida-Otobo as our Global C.E.O., and our Founder, Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili.
- - - - -
Of the topics we’ve had so far, remember, we would have had 140 by the time School is over in August but let me mention 5 here:

Understanding Public Leadership

History of Nigeria: Pre-independence, Independence, and Post-Independence

Managing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Political Economy in the 21st Century

Defining Criteria for Nigeria’s 21st Century
- - - - -
These classes have been enlightening, mind-boggling, and blood-pumping. In class, when talking about data, we say, “In God we trust, everyone else, come with your Data”. We don't just speak, we speak with facts and data and the facts and data about Nigeria will daze you. But, Nigeria has one good thing working for her, her Human Resources, they are intelligent and vibrant. If Nigeria can get her HR right, almost all, will be well with her.
- - - - -
Anyways, as we get set to round off in August of 2023- we will be having our Graduation Ceremony in October in Abuja…Abuja, here I come…Smiles- well, as we get set to Convocate, the application is out again for the next set of Cohorts…Cohort 4.
- - - - -
I forgot to mention this earlier but you see, I liken SPPG to Harvard Kennedy School, that is, the John F. Kennedy School of Government, the School of Public Policy and Government of Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. A School- SPPG- where if you are serious about Politics in Nigeria or you want to serve in government in one way or the other, is a School you Should Definitely ATTEND.
- - - - -
I see the SPPG in not too distant future becoming a source of capable Nigerians who have Character, are Competent, and have the Capacity required of them to talk the talk and walk the talk. People who are ready to serve their fatherland not because of nepotism and favoritism, but because they are capable and will get the job done.
- - - - -
The link is out for applications for Cohort 4. Are you ready for 10 months of grueling intelligence work, Tuesdays to Fridays, 6pm to 9pm? You said, ahhhh! That was what I said too…but, it’s for “one-10 months” in your life. By the time you are done, it will be worth it. I am not done yet, and I can definitely tell you that it was money spent in the right direction.
- - - - -
I cannot end my write-up without telling you about the amazing people I have met in Class. You see, the SPPG is also a sort of family-bounding school, so, they keep sharing us into Clusters and Groups…you know, making the larger class become smaller so that we can have a relationship among ourselves. So, I have met amazing people like, Abraham, Amarachukwu, Linda, IB, JB, Kunle, Dalhatu, Sope, Shalom, Samuel…I could go on and on. Our sessions every evening are ones I look forward to. By the time class is done each day, you think, “no class can beat this one I just had”, but by the time you are done with the class the next day, you are like, “oh my God…another breath-taking session just ended”… and on and on like that.
- - - - -
Click this link: http://thesppg.org/apply/ to register. If you have questions, please feel very free to drop them here or DM and I will definitely get back to you. The School of Politics, Policy and Governance is the School for Now. The School to Breed the New Breed of State’s Women and Men, People without Greed, ready to serve their Motherland. Are you one of us? Click the link to find out more about this awesome School.

*SERIOUSLY SPEAKING :*

I do not think people realize how important 2023 is.

Let me explain

Last year Nigeria made:

₦970.3 Billion from oil

₦1.6 Trillion from non-oil taxes [More revenue from this than oil]

₦2.8 Trillion from a cumulative of other sources.

In total the country brought in ₦5.5 Trillion in revenue

Then it gets really crazy from here.

Out of that ₦5.5 Trillion revenue, ₦4.2 Trillion was spent on servicing (repaying) debts from January to November.

So what is left after paying debts is ₦1.3 Trillion.

Which, as a matter of fact; means that what is left after repaying what we owe is not enough to run the country…

…because in the 2021 national budget, the nation needs to run on a total of ₦13.57 Trillion.

So since we just have ₦1.3 trillion left, an extra ₦12.27 trillion is needed.

Where do we get it?

Yes, you guessed right - we borrow.

In 2021 Nigeria spent ₦12.56 trillion - most of which were borrowed money spent on things that do not bring money back (salary, fuel subsidy, LOOTING, etc).

So if Nigeria was a man who makes ₦100k a month, he borrows ₦5 million every month to pay for light bill, and running of the house.

See the picture now?

Scary, isn’t it?

The excess Crude oil account (which is like our savings) is almost empty.

So not only does this man borrows like a crazy person, he has no SAVINGS for emergencies (like if his boss decides not to pay salary).

Anyways, the finance minister thinks we are doing alright. That what we have is a revenue problem - and not a debt problem & if we make more we will be alright (this is why they are taxing everything)

Of course, she could be lying.

…but she maybe right too.

The rule is we should NEVER borrow more than 40% of our GDP.

We are at 36.9%

3.2% more and all the alarm bell goes off.

Now - imagine if our revenue keeps dropping, and the debt keeps increasing. And one day - voom - 3.2% crossed!

Then we will really have a debt problem.

Since we currently borrow to pay salary, when the alarm goes off - further borrowing is a disaster:

The Government will struggle to pay salary.

(Which is scary considering that the Government is the biggest employer of labour in Nigeria)

More Taxes will be imposed to raise money, Including tax of Goods which will increase the prices you pay on Foreign rice for example.

Our currency will get futher devalued.

Which means things will get even more expensive in the market.

This is the state of the nation…YET…

…the politicians still take home fat salary.

Imagine if we get the wrong President in 2023, who will not get these things fixed.

Imagine the disaster if we push over that 3.2%

If you think politics does not affect you, then maybe you do NOT see the full picture.

Which is why i laugh at people who ignorantly say - ‘’I am not interested in politics’’

Well, guess what it? It is interested in you.

The person who becomes the President will affect the price of your bag of rice…

…your cynlinder of gas

It affects whether or not it is safe to drive from Kaduna to Abuja or fly…

…or whether you need to pay 7.2% or 20% VAT on your Facebook ads.

It affects whether you keep selling on your Instagram page or whether Instagram gets banned in the country OUT of the blues.

It affects the shipping fee you pay on your Tokunbo car.

Get the picture?

This is NOT the time to be tribalistic. Or want a President from any part of Nigeria. It is a time for THE RIGHT ONE.

You really need to get involved. In any little way you can. Even if to get PVC, try go vote. If your Vote does not count they won't be chasing people away at polling stations.

DO YOU HAVE YOUR PVC?

Nigeria has a population of 180 million people out of which 68.8 million registered and were eligible to vote during the 2015 General election. Simply put it, only 38% of our population registered with INEC as eligible voters. Meanwhile based on data from National Population Commission and National Bureau for Statistics, Nigeria has over 61% of its population eligible to register as voters.

Funny enough only 28,587,564 turnout to vote on the day of the general election, which is just 15.9% of our population.

15% determined the fate of 85% that refused to register or turn up for elections.

You are all over Facebook, twitter and WhatsApp arguing, debating, postulating and proposing good governance but you have no PVC.
You claimed you are exposed, schooled, learned, fear God and you daily pray for God to bring good governance to his people, yet you have no PVC. Faith without works is dead. If you like prophesy, cast all the demons and anoint Nigeria, if you have no PVC, you can't stand up to be counted.

Always know that bad politicians are not born but are product of people like you who don't vote.

Do you have your PVC?
Go to the nearest INEC office in your LGA to register.
