OBONG UNWANA NSIT ATAI EARNED.

I am deeply humbled and honoured to have been conferred with the traditional title of OBONG UNWANA NSIT ATAI by our revered Paramount Ruler, HRM Edidem (Prophet) Peter Okon Effiong, during his coronation ceremony on May 30, 2026.

I sincerely thank His Royal Majesty, the Nsit Atai Traditional Rulers Council and the entire people of Nsit Atai for finding me worthy of this distinguished honour.

Although official engagements outside the country prevented me from attending the ceremony in person, I am grateful that my brother was present to receive the honour on my behalf. His presence made it possible for me to share in this memorable occasion despite the distance.

To be named OBONG UNWANA NSIT ATAI is a privilege that I do not take for granted. To me, this title is not merely an honour but a call to greater service and a reminder that positions of privilege find their highest purpose in uplifting others, promoting peace, fostering unity and contributing meaningfully to the development of our communities.

Even though my official duties have taken me beyond our shores, my heart has always remained with my people. This is why I make every effort to be available to my brothers and sisters whenever my official engagements permit. I remain committed to identifying with our people and contributing, in every way possible, to the continued progress and development of our dear local government area.

As I accept this honour, I pledge to uphold the values and responsibilities it represents and to continue keeping the light of service, peace and development burning for the benefit of present and future generations.

I thank you once again for this remarkable recognition. May God bless Nsit Atai, Akwa Ibom State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

I am pleased to have led the Nigerian High Commission team in India in facilitating a major milestone in our nation’s industrial and economic advancement.

Nigeria has recorded a significant breakthrough with the signing of a $1 billion Memorandum of Understanding between the Federal Government of Nigeria and Rashmi Metaliks Group. The agreement was formally executed by the Honourable Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, following a strategic visit to the company’s steel plant in Kolkata.

The visit provided an opportunity to engage directly with the company’s leadership and to observe their large scale operations and advanced technological capacity. This partnership is expected to play a vital role in revitalising Nigeria’s steel sector, creating employment opportunities, and reducing the nation’s dependence on imported steel, thereby conserving foreign exchange.

I appreciate the warm reception and commitment demonstrated by the leadership of Rashmi Metaliks Group, particularly its Vice Chairman and CEO, Sunil Kumar Patwari, who has reaffirmed the company’s readiness to deliver on this investment with the necessary support from the Nigerian government.

This achievement reflects the strength of Nigeria India relations and reinforces our commitment to deepening strategic partnerships that support Nigeria’s transition into a value driven industrial economy.
