World Charity Day: Excitement as Chief Emuoboh Gbagi Showers Compassion on the Needy

In commemoration of World Charity Day, some patients at the General Hospital Otu-Jeremi, in Ughelli South Local Government of Delta State, have had their hospital bills paid off, in a heartwarming display of generosity and kindness.

The donor, Chief Emuoboh Gbagi underscored the need for well-meaning Nigerians to develop the habit of giving back to the society at all times.

The renowned entrepreneur, businessman, and philanthropist emphasised that the philanthropic gesture is not politically motivated, but rather a consistent vision to give back to the community.

The United Nations sets aside September 5 yearly as the International Day of Charity, to show charity and love to another, especially to the needy.

Chief Emuoboh Gbagi's kindness touched the lives of over 10 patients at Otu-Jeremi General Hospital on Charity Day, as he generously covered the cost of their medical treatment by paying off their outstanding bills.

Patients struggling with various health conditions, some awaiting surgery but delayed due to financial constraints, were overjoyed as Chief Gbagi surprised them by settling their outstanding hospital bills, bringing an end to their prolonged hospital stay.

Speaking, the donor, Chief Emuoboh Gbagi said putting a smile on the faces of the needy is an act that should be regular, adding that Government cannot do it alone.

He appealed to Nigerians to love one another at all times, reminding all that it is the most important command from God.

"Nigerians who have the means should show acts of generosity to the less privileged and other vulnerable individuals at all times.

"Acts of giving embody our dedication to embracing the fundamental human values of empathy and unity, which define our shared humanity and connect us all," he said.

Overjoyed patients thanked the donor with heartfelt prayers, seeking divine blessings for him and his loved ones in gratitude for his kindness.

One of them, Okubor Tega, who undertook breast surgery thanked Chief Emuoboh Gbagi, for his acts of generosity. According to her, she felt relieved that a huge burden had been lifted from her.

Another patient, a middle aged woman with chronic leg ulcer, who simply gave her name as Ejiro said: "God bless you (Chief Emuoboh Gbagi) for what you did for us. May God lift you higher and higher in Jesus name. I wanted to go and borrow money before to treat myself. But thank you for doing this."

A tricycle operator who proudly displayed a tribute poster to the late Chief Kenneth Gbagi, father of Chief Emuoboh Gbagi, on his vehicle, received an unexpected surprise - a cash gift - as part of the charitable act.

Cherryl Media Mourns Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi @ 62


When the news of the passing unto glory of Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi came to us at Cherryl Media, it was like April fool, unbelievable but calls and messages kept coming until we painfully confirmed.

Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, a deserved Governor Delta State never had.We came in contact with Gbagi through his relation, Zik Gbemre in the year 2022 in the course of our job, Gbagi found us relevant and useful. Gradually the business relationship metamorphosed into engagement in being part of his media team in his political ambition .

We shuttle between Lagos and Oginibo his village. From there we moved to all nooks and crannies of Delta state, I could remember traveling with him and our media to the creek to visit Tompolo and other prominent traditional rulers.

We took pictures and he will sell his programs and why he wants to govern delta state. Gbagi was a great industrialist and a super politician. He used his God given talents and wealth to

transform his community, the only Minister that was not found wanted by the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) because he has character and blemishless.

He won many awards both local and international. His love for his people and community need not be over emphasized, no wonder Gbagi is always at home every fortnight attending to issues at home and community.

We at Cherryl Media is asking the Angels of God to receive him in paradise while our condolences goes to his wife, and family he left behind asking God to give them the fortitude to bear the huge loss.

Notably, Gbagi was a fearless lion, his name commands respect from all good people and fear to the wicked or evil people, many will not forget him in a hurry but always be remembered.

Sad As Former Education Minister, Gbagi Dies @62

The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), in the last election in Delta State, Olorogun Barr Kenneth Omemavwa Gbagi, FNIM OON, is dead.


Gbagi, a former minister of Education and an industrialist died at the age of 62.


The Renowned Criminologist and senior lawyer died on Saturday May 4th 2024.

A statement signed by his eldest son, Chief Emuoboh Gbagi on behalf of the Gbagi family, said: “It is with profound sadness but gratitude to God, that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, husband, and brother, Olorogun (Barr.) Kenneth Omemavwa Gbagi, FNIM, OON; Former Minister of Education, who departed this life on the 4th of May 2024 at the age of 62.

“We take comfort in the fond memories of his life, his achievements, and the impact he made on the lives of countless individuals and communities.

“We kindly request your thoughts and prayers for our family during this challenging time of loss.

“May his soul rest in perfect peace”, the statement added.

Robinson Mall Fire Incident: Gbagi Sympathises With Victims, Donates Cash Support…Details

A prominent investor and owner of Delta’s biggest shopping mall, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi on Thursday 21st, March 2024, visited traders and shop owners at the popular Robinson Gbagi shopping mall in Deco Road, Warri South Local Govt Area of Delta State to empathize with tenants whose shops were gutted by fire recently.

Gbagi whose visit was celebrated on arrival at the most populated shopping center in the state, noted that his purpose of visiting is to ascertain the cause and level of damage and offer assistance to ameliorate their loss.

Gbagi, the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the March 18, 2023 election in the State, was accomplished by the deputy governorship candidate, Chief Mrs. Rosemary Oshilim, and a host of others. First of all, he thanked God that no life was lost during the inferno and consoled the victims.

Fortunately, Gbagi donated the sum of N500,000 to the most affected person whose shop was burnt, as an immediate intervention to cushion the effect of the inferno.

He therefore directed the Chairman of the shopping mall, Comrade Daniel Akintoye to expedite action to change the roofs of all the buildings at the mall with new ones and as well restore stable electricity to all.

Mr. and Mrs. Wisdom Ekuruemu were filled with joy as they did not expect the gesture. Receiving the cash gifts, Wisdom Ekuruemu was filled with tears of joy that he could not express fully his words of appreciation but thanked Gbagi for the timely intervention.

Mr. Wisdom, while narrating the situation, said; “I was out of town when I heard that my shop was on fire and I received several calls from different persons, including a Hausa man who is a tricycle operator called to inform me that my shop was on fire, there was nothing I could do”.

Speaking at the mall, Gbagi said, “I came to console you. I know how you are feeling, you cannot burn your shop deliberately, I am happy that a lot of people have built their houses and shops while doing business here, yet they are comfortable remaining here in Deco Road plaza for the good fortunes”

“Anyone who wanted to loot that day must have been so disappointed over the proactive and quick measures we deployed, fire service was on the ground to put off the fire while security operatives were available to prevent looting.

No casualties and no fatalities were recorded. We are grateful to God about that.”

Earlier, the chairman of the mall, Comrade Daniel Akintoye thanked Gbagi and his entourage for coming to empathize with them, stating that thousands of youths earn their living by doing business at the mall, “Robinson Plaza is the shell and Chevron of Delta youths”.

Earlier before Gbagi arrived at the plaza, some of the traders were afraid that Gbagi was coming to blame and evict them from the mall as a result of the fire outbreak. However, upon his arrival he changed the narrative for good, doling out cash for the most affected victim to get back to business.

It was gathered that four shops were affected and only one suffered severe damage.

OKUAMA/OKOLOBA CRISIS: Gbagi Frowns At Killing Of Security Personnels, Others, Sues For Thorough Investigation…Details

PRESS STATEMENT

Governorship candidate on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), in the March 18th 2023, election in Delta State, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi FNIM OON, has condemned in the highest term, the heinous killings of 16 military personnel and other civilians in Okuama community in Ughelli south local government area of the State.

He warned that such massacre and burning of houses could be a trigger to inter-religious conflicts and ethnic war if not discreetly handled.

The security expert, called on the Federal Government to as a matter of urgency, carry out a holistic investigation into the act, with a view to unravelling those behind it and bringing them quickly to face the full wrath of law to serve as a deterrent to others while calling for professionalism on the part of the soldiers in handling matters of such.

In a statement on Sunday March 17th 2024, by his Chief Press Secretary, Kenneth Orusi, the former Minister of Education (State), who described the callous attack on innocent soldiers and other lives as shocking and reprehensible, said the act was alien to the State.

The renowned criminologist cm senior lawyer, said: “whilst I bring my condolence to the Chief of Defence Staff with the ungodly news with the killing of 16 soldiers by members of our society and State.

“My position is that I condemn in the highest term the killing of anybody not to talk of innocent soldiers that are sacrificing their lives to protect and ensure peaceful coexistence in agitating communities.

“Never has it happened since the Civil War for officers and soldiers in this large number killed anywhere in the country.

“The act itself been one that is barbaric, my position is clear. We support the Nigerian army to unearth the perpetrators and bring them to book.

“The killing of any human being is a crime before humanity and God. So, we totally condemn this and support a full scale investigation to bring to book this act.

“The identity of those behind this killing must be brought to book and ruthlessly dealt with while condoling their families.

“Pointing accusing fingers on any member of a community with such a heinous crime needs thorough and careful searching. To kill 16 officers is not a joke and such barbaric act happening in Ughelli south to say the least is condemnable as we are not known for violence, it is not part of us as a people”.

He highly solicited for the support of their loved ones and prayed for the repose of the souls of the gallant great men.

He however put the federal and State governments to task to find a lasting solution to the lingering crisis that has left many dead.

Meanwhile, the renowned philanthropist, has called on the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in collaboration with their state counterpart and the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development to immediately send relief materials to affected victims and settle medical bills of those hospitalized.

It would be recall that indigenes and other residents of Okuama community in Ughelli south local government area of the State are currently living in fear as Okoloba community in Bomadi local government area, has been on a steady attack without government and police intervention as no fewer than eight persons were abducted.

The incidents persists unabated including molestation and constant threat to their lives with gunboats and sporadic shooting into Okuama community on daily basis, resulting in the abduction and subsequent killing of four Indigenes of Okuama namely: Igho Meshach, Okiemute David, Power Awusa and the driver of the speedboat whose identity is yet unknown.

It would be recall that a press statement signed by the Acting Director, Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau on Saturday March 16th 2024, said: “the troops of 181 Amphibious Batallion, Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State While on peace mission to OkUAMA community were surrounded by some community youths and killed on Thursday, 14 March, 2024. The unfortunate incident occurred when the troops responded to a distress call after the communal crisis between the Okuama and Okoloba communities both in Delta State”.

Gbagi Expresses Disappointment Over Supreme Court judgement

Governorship candidate under the auspices of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), in the March 18th race in Delta State, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi FNIM, OON, has expressed shock with the judgement of the Supreme Court which affirmed Sheriff Oborevwori, as winner of the gubernatorial election, as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Gbagi, a former Minister of State for Education, expressed its position in a statement he personally signed on Friday 19th 2024, in reaction to the court judgment on the appeal petition he filed.

The largest private investor in the State said that Deltans and indeed majority of Nigerians were alarmed, disappointed and gravely concerned with the reasoning of the Supreme Court.

Hear him: "Fellow Deltans, today the 19th day of January 2024, marks the darkest day in the history of the people of Delta state".

He believed the judgement was against the express provisions of the Constitution, the Electoral Act and the Guideline and Regulation issued by INEC under which the election was conducted.

He said: "The Supreme Court of Nigeria being the last hope of the people, have decided the more than obvious embarrassing and fraudulent situation in Delta State in what the public of Nigeria and particularly Deltans have woken up to see this day".

The renowned criminologist said that the general darkness across the State upon the delivery of the judgment was an ominous sign of a ghostly situation which portend consequences because of the disappointment embedded in the judgment.

"I, as Kenneth O. Gbagi FMIN, OON have taken this first stage that has ended with the judgement of the Supreme Court today on behalf of Deltans and the good people of Nigeria.

While congratulating Sheriff Oborevwori over the validation of his election victory by the Supreme Court, the former chairman of the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, said: "I will do a deep consultation with my political folks and will come up with a far reaching decision more again in the interest of the great people of Delta State.

"I enjoin all my teeming supporters to take a deep breathe and get ready as we have just begun", he added.

DELTA: Again, GKO Property Ltd. Steps In To End Unemployment, Constructs Multi Billion Shopping Mall…See Details

GKO Property Limited, owners of all major malls in Delta State and a conglomerate reputed as the single largest private sector employer of labour in the State, has commenced the construction of another new shopping complex with 3, 500 shops to bridge the unemployment gap that has bedeviled the State.

They equally acknowledged that the former chairman of the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, has so much love and believe in the State, a drive that has now made him to open up the State with investment with genuine wealth not stolen from the people neither ill-gotten political wealth.

The Shopping Mall, is to gulp a whooping sum of N166.4 billion and would revamp the economy of the locality and the State in general when completed as work has started in ernest.

Gbagi Gives Hope To Deltans This New Year…Details

The gubernatorial candidate under the auspices of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), in the March 18th election in Delta State, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi FNIM, OON has urged Nigerians to see the New Year, 2024, as an opportunity to brace up for a better country.

Gbagi said this in his New Year message to Nigerians, particularly Deltans, contained in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Kenneth Orusi, on Sunday December 31st 2023.

He further urged the people to hope for a better country and State, urging them to have a renewed hope and positive mindset in the new year.

The former Minister of State for Education, who felicitated with Deltans and all Nigerians as they stepped into 2024, charged them to show gratitude to God for the grace granted them and their families in 2023.

The largest private investor in the State, said the New Year, is the beginning of a new journey, a new chapter, a fresh opportunity to start and recover from the losses of 2023.

He said “going forward, we should retool our disposition to imbibe new ways and embrace new traditions.

“Cultures that would correct the faultiness in our State and nation and promote peace, guarantee security, and hope to all our people”.

According to him, Delta State and Nigeria must prioritize such habits that entrench accountability, justice, and peace in its systems.

Olorogun Gbagi, stated further that no matter the present realities today, “whether good, bad or ugly, sweet, sour or bitter, we must continue to hope and strive for greater honour and glory for ourselves, our nation and the State in this New Year and beyond”.

The security and entrepreneurial expert also commended all Deltans and Nigerians for their patriotism and courage amidst daunting challenges.
