LYON CONDOLES WITH VICTIMS OF BAYELSA BOAT MISHAP, PRAYED AGAINST REOCCURRENCE.

It was with a rude shock that I received the sad news of the boat mishap involving MV Divine Favour—an Okpoama-bound wooden boat carrying scores of passengers and goods—which happened along the Okoroma axis of the Nembe-Brass waterways in Bayelsa State.

From available reports, many lives, both old and young, and valuable goods have been lost and I can imagine the attendant pain this unfortunate calamity is causing.

My deep condolences go to all victims and the entire good people of Okpoama Kingdom, Brass Local Government Area and Bayelsa State who have been affected by the incident.

I commend all well-meaning individuals and authorities supporting the rescue and recovery efforts that have been ongoing since the boat capsized on Thursday.

May God comfort us in this trying moment of our existence and prevent a similar occurrence in the future.

~ Chief David Lyon.
