Report on GRIT’s Visit to the Chief Medical Director, Diete Koki Memorial Hospital
Date: 18th March 2026

The Gender Response Initiative Team (GRIT) paid a courtesy and advocacy visit to the Chief Medical Director of Diete Koki Memorial Hospital to explore areas of collaboration and partnership in addressing Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).

Key Outcomes of the Meeting:

The hospital management agreed to collaborate with GRIT by engaging counsellors to speak with survivors after medical care, emphasizing the importance of reporting SGBV cases.

Sensitisation sessions targeting women will be conducted regularly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays within the hospital.

GRIT contact numbers will be prominently displayed within the hospital to enable staff and survivors to easily reach out for support and referrals.

The hospital will make available data on suspected SGBV cases to support evidence-based planning and intervention by GRIT.

The meeting concluded with a group photograph to commemorate the engagement.
