67 HEARTY CHEERS TO MY BOSS, HIS EXCELLENCY SENATOR DOUYE DIRI, EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF BAYELSA STATE

On behalf of my family, the management and staff of the Bayelsa State Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, I warmly congratulate my boss, Your Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State and leader of the SHARED Prosperity Administration, on this special occasion of your 67th birthday.

This is another opportunity for the peace-loving people of Bayelsa and indeed all admirers of your exemplary leadership to celebrate a statesman, a man whose life has been defined by selfless service, courage, and an unwavering commitment to the progress of our dear state.

Through your visionary leadership, Bayelsa State has witnessed a remarkable transformation across critical sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, sports development, power generation, security, and economic diversification. The recent inauguration of the Bayelsa Independent Power Plant Gas Turbine Project stands as yet another testament to your administration's determination to providing sustainable energy solutions and lay a solid foundation for industrial growth and economic prosperity.

Your Excellency, of particular significance is your pioneering commitment to the development of the blue economy sector. Recognising Bayelsa's strategic location as Nigeria's foremost maritime state, your administration demonstrated unusual foresight by establishing the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, the first dedicated Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy by any sub-national government in Nigeria.

This bold and historic initiative has positioned Bayelsa as a national leader in the emerging blue economy sector and has attracted widespread recognition and commendation from stakeholders within and outside the country.

Through your support and policy direction, the state has continued to advance initiatives in sustainable fisheries, maritime transportation, coastal development, aquaculture, environmental stewardship, investment promotion, and the exploration of vast opportunities within the blue economy value chain. These efforts have earned Bayelsa several prestigious awards and recognitions, further reinforcing the state's reputation as a model for innovative governance and sustainable economic development.

These laudable achievements have not come by accident. They are products of your visionary leadership, strategic policies, and steadfast commitment to building a prosperous and globally competitive Bayelsa State. Your ability to see beyond the challenges of today and chart a clear course for the future remains one of the defining hallmarks of this administration.

As you celebrate this significant milestone of 67 years, I join millions of Bayelsans to thank Almighty God for your life, wisdom, strength, and impactful service to humanity. It is my prayer that God grant you many more years in good health, divine protection, renewed strength, and greater wisdom as you continue to steer the affairs of our beloved state towards greater heights.

Today, I had the privilege of engaging stakeholders across Bayelsa State on building an inclusive and sustainable blue economy ecosystem that will expand livelihoods, attract investment and strengthen our coastal communities.

The discussions focused on validating our grassroots cluster framework and generating practical solutions; from fish processing hubs to marine enterprise development, while addressing key challenges such as climate change.

I am particularly encouraged by the depth of contributions from participants, both physically present and virtually connected. Together we will build an all-inclusive marine and blue economy sector.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of being present at the Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha Memorial Banquet Hall, Yenagoa, as our great party, the APC, successfully conducted the presidential primaries across Bayelsa State. I witnessed firsthand the peaceful and transparent collation process that produced President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, with 277,192 votes across the eight local government areas.

The result shows our collective commitment and confidence to the Renewed Hope Agenda. This exercise has once again demonstrated the strength of our party and the resolve of our members to deliver victory and progress for Bayelsa and Nigeria at large.

Today, I had the privilege of joining other stakeholders and members of the Ward 1 APC in Yenagoa LGA as we actively participated in the ongoing APC Presidential primaries at the ward level.

The voting exercise was conducted in a peaceful and transparent manner. At the conclusion of the process, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, emerged as the people’s preferred candidate in our ward, reaffirming the collective will and confidence of our members in his leadership.

I sincerely appreciate the members and stakeholders of YELGA Ward 1 APC for their peaceful disposition and support throughout the primaries. Your dedication and discipline remain the strength of our great party.

Today, party faithfuls and stakeholders of Ward 1 APC in Yenagoa LGA gathered in a calm and peaceful atmosphere to conduct our party primary for the YELGA Constituency 1 House of Assembly. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), alongside security agencies, was present to monitor and ensure transparency throughout the process.

Our members overwhelmingly reaffirmed their trust in Hon. Chief Ayibanegiyefa Egba, who secured 653 votes to continue her mandate in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.

On behalf of Ward 1 APC, I extend heartfelt appreciation to our members, stakeholders, INEC officials and security agencies for their commitment to a credible and peaceful process.

The Ward 1 APC in Yenagoa LGA, has once again successfully conducted our party primary for the Central Senatorial District. The exercise was peaceful, transparent and closely supervised by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) alongside security agencies.

Our members demonstrated unity and orderliness with a shared commitment to strengthening democracy and advancing the progress of our party.

Yesterday, as Leader of Ward 1 APC in Yenagoa LGA, I oversaw the successful conduct of our party primary for the Yenagoa/Kolokuma/Opokuma Federal Constituency. The exercise was peaceful, transparent and monitored by INEC officials and security agents.

Our members reaffirmed their confidence in Hon. Oforji Abonsoizibe Oboku, who secured 453 votes to continue his mandate in the Federal House of Representatives.

I commend our party faithful for their discipline and unity. Together, we will keep building a stronger APC in Bayelsa and advancing progress for our people.
