2027: The Nigerian Political Hiccups: Atiku Abubakar Has Paid His Dues.

Fellow Nigerians, compatriots, brothers and sisters, our great nation stands today at a crossroads — a defining point in history where our courage and our choices will determine the destiny of generations to come.

We are living through trying times. Our economy is gasping for breath. Prices are rising beyond the reach of the common man. Insecurity has crept into our villages, our farms, and even our homes. Many have lost faith in government; others have given up on leadership. Yet, in the midst of this uncertainty, one man stands — steady, tested, and unbroken — a leader who has weathered the fiercest storms and never abandoned the cause of Nigeria’s unity, democracy, and progress.

That man is Atiku Abubakar, the Waziri Adamawa, the Former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and now the Leader of the ADC Coalition Alliance Nigeria.

Atiku Abubakar is not a stranger to service, sacrifice, or struggle. His entire political life has been dedicated to one mission to build a Nigeria that works for every Nigerian. From the trenches of democratic activism to the corridors of governance, Atiku has paid his dues fully, completely, and honorably.

When others fled from the heat of politics, he stood firm for democracy. When the powerful tried to silence the will of the people, he raised his voice for justice. When regional divisions threatened to tear this country apart, he built bridges of unity North to South, East to West, rich to poor, Christian to Muslim. Atiku has always believed that Nigeria is one family diverse, but destined to stand together.

And now, under the ADC Coalition Alliance, Atiku once again answers the call of history. The Alliance is not just a political platform it is a people’s movement, a coalition of visionaries, reformers, and patriots who believe that Nigeria must rise again. It is a force of renewal built on integrity, inclusion, and the courage to do what is right.

Fellow Nigerians, the time for excuses is over. The time for real leadership is now. And that leadership lies in the capable hands of Atiku Abubakar a man who understands our challenges, feels our pains, and has the capacity and experience to turn things around.

Atiku knows the farmer in Adamawa who cannot take his crops to market because of bad roads and insecurity. He knows the youth in Lagos and Kano searching endlessly for jobs that never come. He knows the mother in Enugu struggling to feed her children amidst inflation. He knows because he listens he has walked among the people, not above them.

Under his vision, Nigeria will rise again with policies that create jobs, empower small businesses, revive industries, and secure our communities. His dream is a Nigeria where every child, regardless of tribe or tongue, can go to school; where every young person can dream boldly and achieve; where our elders can live in dignity and peace.

Atiku’s belief in democracy is not theoretical it is practical, it is lived, and it is tested. He has stood against dictatorships. He has built political bridges when others burned them. He has worked with leaders across the world to promote good governance, peace, and development. That is the kind of experience Nigeria needs in this hour of national testing.

The ADC Coalition Alliance is more than an alliance it is the rebirth of a vision. It brings together men and women from all political backgrounds who share a common goal: to rescue Nigeria from the shackles of bad governance, corruption, and mismanagement. With Atiku at the helm, the ADC Alliance is ready to restore the lost hope of millions of Nigerians who still believe in a better tomorrow.

Let us be clear: Nigeria cannot afford another lost decade. We cannot continue on a path where our youths are jobless, our currency worthless, and our future uncertain. We need a stabilizing hand, a listening heart, and a reform-minded leader. We need Atiku Abubakar a man who has paid his dues, earned his stripes, and proven his love for this nation beyond politics.

Today, we call on every Nigerian from the north to the south, from the east to the west to rise above division and rally behind this great mission. Let us come together as one people, one voice, one movement for change under the ADC Coalition Alliance.

Atiku is not just a candidate he is a cause. A cause for hope. A cause for renewal. A cause for unity and progress.

So, let the message ring from the mountains of Taraba to the creeks of the Niger Delta; from the streets of Kano to the plains of Adamawa; from the markets of Onitsha to the heart of Abuja Nigeria shall rise again!

Let us march with courage and conviction, because the future we dream of is possible. Let us speak with one voice, because our unity is our greatest strength. Let us vote with faith, because we believe in a Nigeria that works for all.

Atiku Abubakar has paid his dues and now, he stands ready to lead a new dawn of hope, peace, and prosperity.

Together under the ADC Coalition Alliance, we shall rebuild this nation stronger, fairer, and better than ever before.

Long live Atiku Abubakar!
Long live the ADC Coalition Alliance!
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!

My Response to the Former Vice President’s Statement on ADC Leadership in Adamawa State
With due respect to the former Vice President, I wish to state that the recent congratulatory message on the inauguration of Hon. Sadiq Dasin as ADC Chairman in Adamawa State does not reflect the true situation within the party.
Unlike Engineer Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso of Kano a true political architect known for fairness, vision, and discipline the current development in Adamawa ADC lacks proper coordination and consensus among genuine stakeholders.
The inauguration of Kumsiri, conducted on Sunday, stands as the more authentic and legitimate process, unlike the mere celebrations of empty titles and illegally issued positions. The creation of this so called chairmanship appears influenced by a former governor who seems desperate for political control especially envying the recent funds allocated to governors across the 36 states of the federation.
It is now evident that these crises are being deliberately orchestrated by the same former governor from the Northern Zone, believing that by assigning the chairmanship to the Central Zone, he could secure a ticket for himself from the North for the remainder of his political ambitions.
For clarity, the ADC in Adamawa must rise above manipulation and return to the path of fairness, truth, and genuine leadership.

ADC inaugurates Saidu Komsiri leads the new executive, backed by N130M to restore order and mobilise members

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) made a significant move on Sunday with the inauguration of a 44-man caretaker executive by the party's Zonal Working Committee (ZWC), boldly challenging the authority of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and North East National Vice Chairman, Engr. Babachir David Lawal. The event, which saw Mallam Saidu Komsiri take the helm as chairman, took place just 24 hours after Lawal had established a separate committee led by Hon. Sadiq Dasin. This development reinforces a critical power struggle between two influential factions within the state party structure.

The ZWC did not hold back in its accusations against Lawal, claiming he acted unilaterally and inappropriately, making "uncoordinated and unethical" decisions without any consultation or approval from the zonal organs. Umar Bello Jada, the Assistant National Organising Secretary and North East Zonal Organising Secretary of the ADC, articulated the ZWC's discontent, pointing out that Lawal ignored the committee designated to reconcile aggrieved members, instead opting to send his findings straight to the National Working Committee (NWC). His unilateral actions, including the appointment of the Dasin-led committee, were deemed "null, void, and of no effect" due to the lack of formal dissolution of the previous executive in accordance with the party’s constitution.

With the formal dissolution of the former three-man executive led by Yohanna Shehu, the ZWC has swiftly put the Komsiri-led committee in place to restore order and legitimacy within the party.

In a striking show of unity and support, senior stakeholders rallied behind the new faction, contributing over N100 million in cash as a take-off grant. Notable donors included:
- Sen. Aishatu Binani: N40 million
- Rabiu Abubakar: N30 million
- Umar Bello Jada: N25 million
- Sen. Ahmed Barata: N20 million
- Abdullahi Musa Speaker: N15 million

In his acceptance speech, the new caretaker chairman, Mallam Saidu Komsiri, expressed gratitude to National Chairman Senator David Mark and National Leader Atiku Abubakar for fostering an environment conducive to internal democracy.

"This isn’t just an assignment; it’s a crucial opportunity at a time when our party has encountered turbulence and dictatorial tendencies," Komsiri affirmed. He committed to upholding the ADC Constitution, reconciling disappointed members, and launching a vigorous membership mobilisation effort across the state’s 4,104 polling units, 226 wards, and 21 local government areas.

Moreover, the ZWC announced the establishment of two new influential bodies: Hon. Ibrahim Bappa Waziri as Chairman of the Adamawa Elders Forum and Sen. Ahmed Barata as the Convener/Coordinator of the Grassroots Stakeholders Forum. Additionally, Alhaji Mijinyawa Umaru Kugama has been ratified as the Director-General of Mobilisation for Atiku’s 2027 primary elections.

This internal schism has set the stage for a protracted legal and political battle for the ADC's direction in Adamawa, further intensifying as the party continues to attract numerous high-profile politicians from the state.

Binani, Barata, Jada, Baba 10 missing as Babachir inaugurates new ADC exco in Adamawa.

Binani, Barata, Jada, Baba 10 missing as Babachir inaugurates new ADC exco in Adamawa

‎Prominent members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) including Sen Aishatu Binani, Sen Ahmed Barata, Prince Ibrahim Mustapha also known as Baba 10 and the North East national organizing secretary of the party Umar Bello Jada amongst other critical stakeholders were conspicuously absent as the North East national Vice chairman of the party, Babachir David Lawal, a former SGF inaugurates new state exco of the party.

‎The absence of some of the major stakeholders signals that the festering leadership crisis rocking the party is yet to be over. Security was beefed up around the Lelewal motel venue of the event that witnessed high presence of other critical stakeholders including Sen. AbdulAziz Nyako, former governor Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla Bindow, Sen. Ishaku Abbo amongst others to prevent possible breakdown of the law.

‎Adamawa State chapter of the party has since inception engulfed by internecine leadership crisis with no solution in sight.

‎Efforts by Babachir Lawal to restore calm in the past had yielded little success. His decision to constitute a four-man reconciliation committee earlier this year was intended to mend divisions within the state chapter. However, the committee’s work ended up worsening the internal crisis, prompting former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to step in and constitute a caretaker leadership under Saidu Komsiri.

‎The latest round of disagreements reportedly stems from the formation of a new Sadiq Dasin-led committee by Babachir Lawal, which many top members, including Senator Binani, openly rejected.

‎In a leaked audio clip that went viral on social media, Binani was heard lambasting the former SGF, accusing him of breaching the party’s constitution and sidelining key figures particularly Atiku Abubakar, who is widely regarded as the de facto leader of the ADC in Adamawa.

‎“It was preposterous for Babachir to form a new committee without consulting His Excellency, the former Vice President. Ordinarily, Atiku should have chaired the transition committee or at least approved its leadership. Anything short of that is a disservice to logic and order,” she said.

‎She further accused the North East vice chairman of unilateralism and of attempting to weaken Atiku’s influence in the party. Her comments not only embarrassed the ADC leadership but also exposed the underlying power struggle between the Atiku bloc, which seeks to consolidate control of the party’s machinery, and the Babachir camp, which insists on maintaining independence from what it describes as “overbearing external interference.”

‎Despite the controversy, Babachir Lawal maintained that the newly inaugurated leadership was legitimate and had followed due process. He stated that the National Working Committee (NWC) had approved the new structure, and warned that the party would not tolerate acts of indiscipline or defiance.

‎Hr noted that the new leadership is the substantive one because due diligence has been followed in line with the constitution of the party.

‎He added that the national chairman of the party Sen David Mark has assured all and sundry that ADC will be governed strictly according to constitutional provisions noting that anyone who disagrees with that has no place in this party.

‎He urged members to uphold peace and unity within the ADC. “Every politician is entitled to be insulted it is our right but it should not affect the way we behave. Let us cooperate with the new committee. The guidelines for their selection were designed by the founding fathers of the ADC before the merger, and these have been authenticated and approved by the National Working Committee. We are sure that what we are doing today is legal, approved, and will serve as the instrument to govern the party in this state,” he said.

‎In his acceptance speech, Hon. Sadiq Dasin, the newly inaugurated state chairman, described his emergence as a child of necessity, noting that his leadership came after repeated attempts to reconcile the Shehu Yohanna and Mustapha Arabi factions failed.

‎He pledged to restore unity and inclusiveness within the party, promising that women and young people would play a greater role in shaping its future direction.

‎He said 60 percent of elective positions in the coming congresses will be reserved for women and youth, in recognition of their strategic importance to success of the party.

‎He also assured that his administration would conduct transparent and credible congresses across wards and local governments in Adamawa.

Babachir’s Blunder Constitution’s Collapse: How Committee Confusion Cripples ADC In Adamawa

..When One Committee Consumes All, Democracy Dwindles and Discipline Dies...

The Periscope Global Literati

‎In the evolving drama of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State, what began as an administrative adjustment has spiraled into a constitutional crisis - a crisis critics say now threatens to consume the party’s very soul.

At the centre of the storm stands former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Engr. Babachir David Lawal, whose controversial decision to collapse the party’s three key committees into a single structure has sparked outrage, resistance and rising rebellion within the ADC fold.

A Constitution in Contortion

The ADC Constitution; described by insiders as the “compass of conscience” that guides the party’s order and equity, clearly delineates the duties of each committee.

The Caretaker Committee is meant to administer the party’s daily affairs; the Membership Mobilization, Registration and Revalidation (MMRR) Committee to manage records and recruitment; while the Transition Steering Committee supervises transitional processes and prepares the ground for congresses.

But Babachir’s decision to merge all three into one, analysts warn, amounts to a constitutional contortion, a desecration of the doctrine of internal democracy.

“It’s not reform; it’s a rebellion against the rulebook,” said one senior party figure who requested anonymity. “The ADC Constitution is not ornamental. It is binding and bending it for convenience is both politically and legally perilous.”

Power Piled in a Single Palm

Observers argue that this concentration of power is as dangerous as it is unprecedented. When one committee assumes the roles of all, checks vanish and concentration corrupts. In this monolithic model, one body becomes judge, jury and janitor, administering the secretariat, managing membership data and dictating transitional directives without oversight.

Such centralization, political scientists note, silences dissent, suffocates transparency and strangles accountability, three values once cherished by the ADC’s founding coalition.

Disturbing the Delicate Balance

The ADC’s strength, party loyalists remind, has always been its coalition character, a home where multiple blocs, movements and ideologies coexist under a banner of fairness.

By collapsing the committee structure, Babachir’s camp risks muting certain voices and magnifying others, tipping the scales of justice and trust.

The ripple effects, members fear, could prove irreparable: disenchantment, defections and the birth of rival structures. Once that balance breaks, no congress, however choreographed, can rebuild confidence until fairness is visibly restored.

Legitimacy Lost, Credibility Crumbled

Legal minds within the party are already warning that any action taken by the fused committee may be void ab initio. Appointments could be annulled, registers rejected and congresses declared invalid by the National Working Committee (NWC) or the courts.

“You cannot build legitimacy on illegality,” said an Abuja-based constitutional lawyer familiar with party law. “If due process is denied, due consequence is inevitable.”

Political Peril and Public Perception

Beyond procedure lies perception and in politics, perception is power. As disillusionment deepens, the ADC in Adamawa risks being portrayed as a party at war with its own constitution, handing opposition parties an easy narrative of chaos and control.

“The optics are terrible,” noted a northern political commentator. “How can a party promising democratic reform operate with dictatorial tendencies?”

Restoring Order and Obedience

Yet, redemption remains within reach. Analysts say the path to peace is simple but sacred: return to principle.
Each committee must reclaim its distinct role; administration to the Caretaker, mobilization to the MMRR and coordination to the Transition Steering Committee.

Most crucially, the National Working Committee must reassert its supervisory authority to prevent any state chapter from drifting into unilateralism.

For when power is shared, peace prevails; when rules are respected, reputation rises.

As the ADC in Adamawa stands at this constitutional crossroads, the choice is stark, between the discipline of democracy and the danger of despotism. The path it takes will not only determine its destiny but may also define whether the party remains a coalition of conscience or collapses into a congregation of contradictions.

4. Our Caution and Appeal

Let democracy, justice, and due process prevail in all that we do.

Caricature chairman: Sen. Binani blasts Babachir over insubordination, disrespect to Atiku.

‎Caricature chairman: Sen. Binani blasts Babachir over insubordination, disrespect to Atiku

‎An audio recording featuring Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed (Binani), the 2023 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, has surfaced online, introducing another layer of controversy into the intractable leadership crisis rocking the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State.

‎In the leaked audio, Senator Binani was heard berating former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Engr. Babachir David Lawal, for what she described as blatant disrespect and inordinate arrogance in the composition of a transition committee for the party in Adamawa State.

The leaked audio, which has gone viral across social media platforms, has deepened the internal crisis rocking the ADC, a party once perceived as a credible alternative platform that has the potentials to unseat the present government.

‎The crisis, which has split the party into multiple factions, continues to threaten its unity vis a vis success ahead of the 2027 general elections. It was alleged that at the center of the crisis is the demand by some party bigwigs to get automatic tickets which others vehemently rejected.

‎In the audio, Senator Binani accused Babachir Lawal of undermining respected political leaders within the ADC, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, governors and senators, questioning the rationale behind appointing a green horn to lead renowned political heavyweights.

‎She lamented that Babachir’s decision to appoint a politician of lesser consequence and pedigree as chairman of the Adamawa State transition committee was an affront to established political hierarchy and a breach of internal party protocol.

‎She expressed shock and dismay over the attitude noting that such action was unprecedented and unacceptable. She said such mindset represents the highest form of disrespect for accomplished leaders and astute trailblazers.

‎The leaked recording captures Binani’s frustration over what she called Babachir Lawal’s insubordination and intransigence, accusing him of acting unilaterally without consultation or authorization from the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

‎She further accused the former SGF of pursuing personal interests at the expense of party unity and integrity.

‎The latest controversy began after Engr. Babachir David Lawal, who also serves as ADC’s North-East Vice Chairman, released a list constituting the Adamawa State transition committee.

‎The committee, according to the announcement, was to serve as an advisory body to the state executive council and to work closely with the party structure in preparation for mass mobilization, membership registration, and upcoming congresses at all levels.

‎However, Binani quickly read meanings into the action and expressed vituperation over such gross misconduct saying that the decision to name a former member of the Adamawa State House of Assembly and ex-member of the House of Representatives as chairman of the committee, instead of a senior political figure such as the former vice president, was “absurd, abnormal, and disrespectful.”

‎In the audio, Binani questioned Babachir’s judgment, insisting that the former vice president, being the highest-ranking political figure from the state and one of the most experienced national leaders in the party, should have naturally chaired the committee.

‎“Ordinarily, His Excellency, the former Vice President, should have been named chairman of the transition committee to give the group direction, authority, and legitimacy. If he is unable to preside over meetings, the next ranking political office holder could act in his stead. Anything short of that is a disservice to logic and order,” she said.
