ACT Nepal -Affected Community by TB Nepal

We are pleased to share the successful completion of the ACT Nepal Steering Committee Workshop, ACT Nepal -Affected Community by TB Nepal held from 22–23 November. The workshop brought together TB survivors to strengthen a unified and community-led TB response in Nepal.

The two-day workshop included several key sessions:

🔹 Community Engagement in TB Response
Participants discussed the importance of meaningful community leadership, the role of TB-affected populations, and the need for structured engagement in local and national planning processes.

🔹 WHO Session on Community Engagement in the National Strategic Plan (NSP)
WHO representatives highlighted the global and national frameworks for community participation, emphasizing how communities are recognized as core partners in the NSP and how their engagement strengthens equity, accountability, and program impact.

🔹 CCM Nepal Session on Community Participation for GC8
The Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) facilitated discussions on strengthening community voices in Global Fund Grant Cycle 8 (GC8). The session focused on representation, engagement in decision-making, and ensuring that affected communities’ priorities are reflected in the funding request.

This workshop marks an important step in advancing community systems strengthening and ensuring that TB-affected communities remain at the center of Nepal’s TB response.

Formation of the Steering Committee of ACT Nepal!

We are thrilled to announce the official formation of the Steering Committee of ACT Nepal (Affected Community by TB in Nepal) on 8th June 2025 in Kathmandu. This landmark achievement is a significant stride toward empowering TB survivors to take the lead in advocacy, awareness, and community engagement.

The Steering Committee comprises passionate individuals who have overcome the challenges of TB and are now committed to using their experiences to bring about meaningful change. Together, they will work to:
✅ Advocate for the rights of those affected by TB.
✅ Influence policies and decision-making processes.
✅ Educate communities on TB prevention, treatment, and support.

This initiative underscores the power of community-led leadership and the resilience of TB survivors. It is a testament to the belief that those closest to the challenges are also closest to the solutions.

We look forward to witnessing the impact of this dedicated committee as they work to ensure no one affected by TB is left behind.

"Multi-stakeholder Meeting and Panel Discussion On TB CRG "
On December 24th, a vibrant community gathered in Kathmandu, passionately dedicated to advancing TB awareness, community rights, and gender sensitivity. NTCC representatives, TB focal persons, and delegates from all seven Provincial Health Directorates, alongside CCM Nepal and DHO Kathmandu, joined hands in fostering a collaborative and dedicated environment.

The richness of our discussions was elevated by the invaluable presence of esteemed organizations such as WHO, Save the Children, FHI 360, AHF, NATA, TB Nepal, Jantra, BNMT, Herd International, MRC Nepal, BWSN, Sparsha Nepal, and more. Their collective expertise and unwavering commitment inspire us to continually strive for progress in our shared mission.

Trishuli Plus to shared pivotal recommendations stemming from in-depth assessment on TB community rights and gender dynamics. This effort seamlessly aligns with the UNHLM on TB Political Declaration which was presented by WHO, signifying a crucial moment in our shared commitment to transforming TB responses globally.
