Majdeldin Alnoumairy, was born in Damascus Syria in 1978. As the war escalated in Syria, Majdeldin along with his family escaped from Syria and was staying in Antakya, Turkey as a refugee along with his family, Majdeldin served people affected by Syrian crisis through International Medical Corps (IMC) as a logistic officer for around 3 three years. By profession he is a dentist, he studied prosthodontics at the University of Damascus. Recently, he was living with his family (wife and four girls). In the logistics department, he was overcommitted and dedicated, sometimes he used to work until late evening and over the weekend regardless of family and personal priorities, he put humanitarian work on top. We remember you being very responsive and prompt to any tasks that come to you. Your humbled, hence adorable face will always be floating around us. We met up on various specialty days, such as the Eid celebration, and farewell parties, and your activeness made everything possible and the sound was impressive, we recall the moments we shared together, hanging in the kitchen for Turkish /Syrian coffee, our laughter. We would like to express our sorrow and condolences to the bereaved family, may time heal their broken heart, and may the departed soul rest in peace in heaven.

We still remember your smiling face, dear Hasip, every morning standing in front of the guest house to take us to the office with such an endearing smile that filled our whole day with positive vibes. We will always recall you, over the weekend diving us to Samandag, Herbia, and the town, having Kunafa at Hataya Kunafa Corner is still floating around. Seeing your cheerful face after executed office day used to take away our tiredness from work. Your innocence and kindness will always glide in our hearts. May you rest in peace in heaven. Mr. Hasip Sozer worked for the IMC Turkey mission as a driver. He was living in Antakya with his family) a Wife and three kids). Deadly EQ had taken him from all of us.

This page serves as a living tribute to the memory of former International Medical Corps (IMC) staff in Turkey who lost their lives in the 2023 earthquakes in Turkey & Syria. The purpose of the online memorial is to remember our dear friends & colleagues and recognize their many years of service supporting persons in need. Our colleagues dedicated themselves to the provision of humanitarian assistance throughout the Syria crisis (and many during the COVID-19 pandemic), only to tragically pass away in the 2023 disaster, most together with their families. We wish to commemorate them and honor their great contribution to humanity. We will dearly miss their presence, and their passing is also a significant loss for the humanitarian sector and the communities they supported. We invite other colleagues to share their messages, memories, and photos in remembrance of those we lost.

Loss of life brings pain that only subsides with time. Though words cannot bring you all back, they perhaps help us process the pain we experience.
