- We will be discussing about the ongoing concerns and concepts about dentistry in our community and among ourselves
- clearing doubts we have about any treatment and about dentistry.
- Focusing overall and promotion of better oral health care among ourselves and increasing awareness about hygiene and diseases related to it.

As part of the White November Campaign (Lung Cancer Awareness Month), the Leo District Council 325-G, MD 325-Nepal's Dental Screening and Oral Hygiene Awareness Committee is spreading vital awareness on the lesser-known connection between the two!

🦷 How is Oral Health linked to Lung Cancer? 🫁

* Chronic Inflammation: Periodontal (gum) disease involves chronic inflammation(swelling), which can affect overall body health.
* Bacteria in the Bloodstream: Oral bacteria can enter the bloodstream, travel to the lungs, and cause or worsen existing lung conditions or contribute to cancer development.
* Carcinogenic Metabolites: Certain oral bacteria produce metabolites that may play a role in the development of cancerous cells in the lungs.
* Increased Risk: Individuals with severe periodontal disease or tooth loss have been shown to have a higher risk of developing lung cancer.
