Gentle Heart Foundation A Heart for the People of Nepal – “Repairer of Broken Hearts” The GHF was founded by Arjun, a man who had himself been orphaned at the age of 11.

After fending for his two younger sisters for half a year, he was noticed by a lady who sent him to an orphanage in Kathmandu - providing them shelter, sustenance and love. From this personal experience of abandonment and desperation transformed by another's simple kindness, came the vision to start a home for children of similar circumstances. Apart from the GHC Home in Kathmandu, the GHF also provides educational scholarships to poverty-stricken children. It is also the vision of the GHF to extend their efforts to fight child exploitation and support widowed women.

The three of them are strong pillars of the Handicraft Team at the Recovery Program. They are hardworking, skilled, dedicated, and sincere in their work. Their commitment and contribution have been valuable to the team. Today, we celebrated their birthdays together. Everyone was excited to celebrate this special occasion with them and shared warm wishes for their happiness, good health, and continued success.

Kanchan (Name changed) shared," I am grateful for all the love and support I have received. This is my 10th birthday celebration here, and throughout these years, God has protected and guided me. I remember my initial days here. At first, I was not sure if I would stay here for a long time. I felt that discipline is necessary for personal growth and is an essential part of life. This is my home, and all the sisters here are like my own sisters. I am truly thankful to Sir and Gentle Heart Foundation for all the opportunities you have given me and for helping me grow into the person I am today. "

Nirupa (Name changed) shared, "I want to thank GHF for giving me the opportunity to serve here. I enjoy working here in a family-like environment. I have learned many things from all the sisters, and I have also had the opportunity to teach and share what I know with them."

Sarita (Name changed) shared," God and GHF have been with me, and because of their support, I have been able to come this far. Now, I love children and have been given the opportunity to serve as a babysitter. For me, this is my ministry, and I try to do my best in this field. I want to continue serving the children for a long time."

Today, we celebrated the birthday of Debina (name changed). She was very happy to celebrate her special day. Debina is a talented and hardworking young woman who experienced a tragic childhood. At a young age, she became pregnant and gave birth to a daughter. However, her life is now transforming in a positive and meaningful way. She is happy to be here and grateful for the new opportunities and hope she has found in her life. she shares, "I have come this far because of God’s grace and the support of Gentle Heart Foundation. I am deeply grateful for all the opportunities and support I have received. Today, I look forward to a brighter future for myself and my daughter, filled with hope and new possibilities."

Gentle Heart Foundation (GHF) was blessed to celebrate National Children’s Day 2083 with the children we serve in residential program and others places—a day filled with smiles, fellowship, gifts, laughter, cake, and precious memories.
National Children’s Day in Nepal is observed on Bhadra 29 (September 14), and this year’s national slogan, “बालापनको रक्षाः भविष्यको सुरक्षा” (Protecting Childhood: Safeguarding the Future), reminds us that protecting children today means investing in the hope and future of our nation.

For Gentle Heart Foundation, this message is more than a theme—it reflects our continuing commitment to protecting vulnerable children, nurturing their potential, restoring hope, and helping them grow in a safe, loving and dignified environment.

🎁 A DAY OF JOY, LOVE & BELONGING
The celebration brought together children in an atmosphere where they could simply be children—to laugh, sing, enjoy one another’s company and experience the happiness of being valued and remembered.

The children received beautifully wrapped gifts, shared a special cake, and enjoyed a time of fellowship together. Their smiles and excitement reminded us that sometimes a simple gift, a caring presence, and the assurance that someone remembers them can create a lasting impact in a child's heart.

🎂 Celebrating 13 Years of Hope, Growth & Dreams — Happy Birthday, Anuska ! 🎂

Today, we joyfully celebrated the 13th birthday of Anuska, a bright, talented, and determined young girl who has grown up surrounded by love, care, and hope at Gentle Heart Children’s Home (GHCH).

Anuska joined GHCH at the age of five together with her sister after her father left the family and her mother remarried. Today, she is a confident Grade 7 student, doing well in her studies and actively participating in various activities.

Reflecting on her journey, Anuska says: “I feel very blessed to be a part of GHCH because I have found a big family here who loves and cares for me, something I did not have before.”

Her words remind us of the power of love, belonging, and a safe family environment in shaping a child’s future.

Anuska dreams of joining the Army one day and serving the country. We are proud of the young woman she is becoming and pray that God continues to guide, protect, and strengthen her as she pursues her dreams.

We are deeply saddened by the devastating flash floods that have affected Nepal, causing loss of lives, destruction of homes and infrastructure, and leaving many families searching for their loved ones. GHF stands alongside the government and affected families during this difficult time, offering our support and joining hands in the efforts to bring relief, recovery, and hope to those affected. Let us stand together in prayer for Nepal. May God comfort every grieving family, protect those in danger, strengthen the rescuers, and bring hope to those who have lost so much.

JUSTICE FOR A CHILD WHO DESERVED TO LIVE

A three-year-old girl was kidnapped, sexually assaulted, and killed.
She was only a child. She had a whole life ahead of her—a life that should have been filled with love, protection, laughter, education, and hope.

Today, Gentle Heart Foundation stands with her family and with all those who are demanding justice.

This is not simply another tragic incident that should fade from public attention. A child's life matters. Every child matters. Every vulnerable person matters.

Our mission compels us to stand with children and vulnerable people who are at risk of abuse, exploitation, trafficking, and violence. Our vision is for communities where vulnerable people are protected, restored, empowered, and given the opportunity to live with dignity and hope.

Therefore, we call for:

⚖️ JUSTICE — A thorough, impartial investigation and lawful accountability for everyone responsible.

🛡️ PROTECTION — Stronger systems to protect children from kidnapping, sexual violence, exploitation, and abuse.

👮 ACCOUNTABILITY — No one who commits violence against a child should be protected by power, money, influence, or silence.

❤️ COMPASSION — Support, dignity, and care for the grieving family and others affected by this tragedy.

📢 ACTION — As a society, we must stop looking away. We must speak up, report abuse, protect children, and create safer communities.

Happy Birthday to two true Warriors !

We are happy to celebrate these two warrior's birthdays together. Both of them are example of never giving up spirit. They are leading a team in Handicraft and Jewelry department dedicatedly. It's been long and beautiful journey with them. All the sister from Recovery Program praises their patience and handicrafts creativity and teaching skills. This year Budhanilkantha Municipality conducted entrepreneurship development program where Paru ( Name changed) got an opportunity to take 30 days knitting training and Sharmila (name changed) got 60 days sewing and cutting training. Both are inspiration to all.

Paru shared, 'I am encouraged by the birthday wishes. I am not perfect, but I am learning every day. I feel like an elder sister to everyone. It has been nine years with the GHF team, and this journey has been a wonderful opportunity to learn rather than to teach, and to become more self-reliant.'

Sharmila shared, "This is the warm love of GHF. We always experience a welcoming, caring, and family-like environment here. I am continually learning new things, and GHF has given us many opportunities to grow. I am truly grateful for all the support and encouragement I have received. I have also been blessed with the opportunity to attend various training programs, which have helped me develop new skills.'

Happy Birthday Ahaan !

Our little boy from Recovery Program celebrated his first birthday today. We are overjoyed to mark this special milestone with him. Sahara (name changed), despite being a young mother, lovingly cares for her son. Although the incident deeply affected her, his smile continues to brighten her life. She is grateful to have her son, who brings her hope and strength each day.

Recovery Program is dedicated to the transformation journey of young girls and women who have suffered from traumatic sexual violence and abuse which is achieved through education, empowerment, and skill development training that helps them to reintegrate into society with dignity.

Prevention is better than cure !
We are pleased to share that fire extinguishers have been successfully installed at the GHF Recovery Program, Inn, and Children Home to enhance the safety and protection of everyone in our care. Along with the installation, staff and residents were provided with essential information on fire safety and the proper use of fire extinguishers, including: Identifying different types of fires, understanding when and how to use a fire extinguisher, Following the PASS method:
• Pull the pin
• Aim at the base of the fire
• Squeeze the handle
• Sweep from side to side
This initiative strengthens our commitment to creating a safer environment for all. Together, we can be prepared and respond effectively in case of emergencies.
