Yeti Airlines – Serious Concern About Delay & Ground Service STUPIDITY
I was travelling on Yeti Airlines flight YT 921 from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur, scheduled for 10:00 AM on 30 September. My boarding pass shows the same flight details.
The flight was delayed by almost two hours. During the delay, passengers were transported by bus and then kept waiting inside the bus for around 25–30 minutes in very hot conditions. This was already an uncomfortable experience after such a long delay.
What made the experience even more disappointing was the attitude of the staff member checking boarding before we proceeded to the aircraft.
I politely asked him, “Sir, if you are keeping us in the bus for this long, wouldn’t it be better to keep passengers waiting inside the terminal instead?”
His response was extremely unprofessional and dismissive: “Just go to the plane. The plane is not on your schedule; it will be on ours.”
I understand that flight operations can face delays and that safety and operational requirements may require schedule changes. But passengers’ time, comfort and dignity also matter. If the airline has already delayed passengers for nearly two hours, the minimum expectation is respectful communication and proper passenger handling.
As someone who works in the hospitality and service industry, I found this attitude particularly disappointing. A delay can happen; poor communication and lack of hospitality should not be part of the service.
Yeti Airlines itself states that its customer-care service aims to be attentive to passengers’ needs and provide a good travel experience.
