Women’s Mental Health Conference:Bloom Again!
Understanding the Mind, Body, and Hormonal Journey
Higher Ground Community Development Nepal (HGCDN) successfully organized the Women’s Mental Health Conference in collaboration with MBSMF, IN Nepal, and Lalitpur Metropolitan City Wards 13 and 4.
The conference provided a meaningful platform to raise awareness about women’s mental health, explore the connection between the mind, body, and hormonal changes, and encourage open and honest conversations about women’s emotional and psychological well-being.
Our distinguished speakers, Dr. Namrata Pradhan, Psychiatrist, and Ms. Chetana Lokshum, Psychologist and Counselor, shared valuable insights into women’s mental health, holistic well-being, and the importance of understanding and caring for ourselves throughout different stages of life.
Dr. Jyoti Rhyamaji highlighted the importance of breast cancer awareness, early detection, accurate diagnosis, and appropriate treatment. Deputy Mayor Manjali Shakya and Mrs. Saru Joshi Thapa inspired participants by sharing their personal journeys and life experiences.
We were especially moved by Mrs. Dolly Gurung Yakthumba, who courageously shared her journey as a cancer survivor, offering a powerful message of hope, strength, and resilience. Our panelists, Ms. Vidhyakar Ghale, Ms. Sony Poudel Tamang, and Ms. Sarina Maharjan, enriched the conversation by sharing valuable lessons drawn from their own experiences and perspectives.
Beyond the presentations and discussions, the conference was a reminder that women need safe spaces where they can speak openly, be heard without judgment, and receive understanding and support. By bringing these conversations into the open, we hope to challenge stigma, strengthen awareness, and encourage women to prioritize their mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
Higher Ground Nepal remains committed to working toward a society where every woman feels heard, understood, supported, and empowered to care for her whole self.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our collaborating partners, distinguished speakers, panelists, participants, and everyone who contributed their time, wisdom, and support to make this conference meaningful and impactful.
Together, let’s break the stigma, start the conversation, and make women’s mental health a priority.
