Ambassador H.E. U Thant Sin receives H.E. Mr. Park Jae-kyung, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nepal

H.E. U Thant Sin, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Nepal received H.E. Mr. Park Jae-kyung, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nepal at Myanmar Embassy on 30 September 2026 at 1030 hrs.
During the meeting, the Myanmar Ambassador briefed him on the recent developments in Myanmar, and both sides candidly exchanged views on matters pertaining to the further strengthening of existing bilateral relations between Myanmar and the Republic of Korea, as well as the prospects for enhancing cooperation with the host country, Nepal.

Ambassador U Thant Sin receives Mr. Dhan Prasad Pandit, former Nepal Ambassador to Israel

H.E. U Thant Sin, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Nepal received Mr. Dhan Prasad Pandit, former Nepal Ambassador to Israel at Myanmar Embassy on 14 September 2026 at 1030 hrs.
During the meeting, Mr. Dhan Prasad Pandit shared insights gained during his diplomatic career, and they candidly exchanged views on the possibilities of promoting cooperation ‌across the various sectors for further strengthening the friendship between Myanmar and Nepal in the future.

H.E. U Thant Sin, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Nepal received Director of Training and Education Ms. R**t Kafle and Admin Manager Ms. Saraswoti Khadgi of Innova World School at Myanmar Embassy on 10 September 2026 at 1430 hrs.
During the meeting, Ms. R**t Kafle introduced the educational activities of Innova World School, which is the first pre-school in Nepal inspired by Finnish Pedagogy. Both sides exchanged views on the potential for welcoming Myanmar students to the school in the future and enhancing the activities relating to women empowerment.

Ambassador U Thant Sin attends Regular Weekly Meeting of Rotary Club of Himalayan Golfers as Guest Speaker

At the invitation of the Rotary Club of Himalayan Golfers, H.E. U Thant Sin, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Nepal, attended the regular weekly meeting of the Club as the Guest Speaker at 0800 hours on 9 September 2026 at Hotel Tibet in Kathmandu.
During the meeting, the Ambassador delivered remarks on recent developments in Myanmar and bilateral relations between Myanmar and Nepal. Furthermore, the Ambassador cordially discussed with President and members of the Club on the enhancement of cooperation in the political, economic and cultural relations between Myanmar and Nepal, the invitation for golf enthusiasts from Myanmar to Nepal, as well as the possibility of sending a volunteer medical team from Nepal to Myanmar to provide eye care treatments.

Ambassador U Thant Sin receives President Mr. R.K. Shakya of Lumbini Peace Award

H.E. U Thant Sin, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Nepal received Mr. R.K. Shakya, President of Lumbini Peace Award and team members at Myanmar Embassy on 4 September 2026 at 1030 hrs.
During the meeting, Mr. R.K. Shakya briefed the peace campaign activities and program undertaken by the Lumbini Peace Award. The discussions also focused on the proposal to nominate former United Nations Secretary-General U Thant for the Lumbini Peace Award, in recognition of his significant role and dedicated efforts in establishing the Lumbini Sacred Garden as a significant symbol of the enduring friendship between Myanmar and Nepal.

Myanmar Ambassador to Nepal signs the Condolence Book

H.E. U Thant Sin, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Nepal, signed the Condolence Book opened at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal at 1400 hours on 1 September 2026, expressing deepest condolences and sympathies for the tragic loss of lives and properties and the extensive damage to homes, roads, bridges, hydropower facilities, and other critical infrastructure caused by the recent flash floods and landslides in Rasuwa and other areas of Nepal that occurred on 26 August 2026.

Ambassador H.E. U Thant Sin receives President of the Nepal–Myanmar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NMCCI)

H.E. U Thant Sin, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Nepal received Mr. Shiva Kumar Agrawal, President of the Nepal–Myanmar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NMCCI) at Myanmar Embassy on 25 August 2026 at 1115 hrs.
During the meeting, Mr. Shiva Kumar Agrawal elaborated on the proposal to invite a Myanmar business delegation to Kathmandu in December 2026 and organize a Nepal–Myanmar Trade Expo and Food Festival. Furthermore, the two sides discussed the proposed visit of an NMCCI delegation led by the President in early 2027, during which the delegation is expected to meet with relevant officials in Myanmar and hold discussions to further enhance bilateral trade between Myanmar and Nepal.
