Same fence, same gate, same roofline - just the people who change when a property is Category Two Heritage Protected.

We recently had a lovely pair staying, visiting from Suffolk in England. Angela Bradford brought her sketch book with her and did a couple of quick drafts to remember their stay by. She was kind enough to show me some of her work, captured here is Banksia Cottage and the view from the balcony deck looking at the cottages across the street. Such a treat!

👑 Sad to hear of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s reign drawing to a close. What an inspirational woman.

Pull the handle and flush the pan immediately after using; by order of the Akaroa Borough Council - still good advice! 🚽
This historic poster is displayed in Banksia Cottage’s bathroom, in a conspicuous position 🧻🧻🧻

Treasure found while digging in the garden at Banksia Cottage!! - this warped green glass bottle, and a PECK'S vintage jar from circa 1930-1950’s. This would originally have contained meat or fish paste for sandwiches. Both are in excellent condition given they’ve been buried for so many years!
