𝐁𝐈𝐎𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐏𝐇𝐘: Dr. Ampode is an Associate Professor V at 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, Aborlan, Palawan. His academic and professional journey reflects a strong commitment to learning, leadership, and service in the field of animal science. His academic journey began at 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, Bukidnon, where he obtained his 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 major in 𝐀𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, specializing in Animal Nutrition, in 2013.

Motivated by a desire to deepen his expertise and contribute to agricultural development, he pursued a 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, minor in 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, at 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, completing the degree in 2016 as a scholar of the Department of Science and Technology–Accelerated Science and Technology Human Resource Development Program (DOST-ASTHRDP).

His pursuit of advanced knowledge led him to 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 in 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐊𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐚, where he completed his 𝐃𝐨𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, major in 𝐀𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲, specializing in Animal Nutrition and Feed Sciences. This international academic exposure enriched his research perspective and strengthened his capacity to conduct rigorous, data-driven feeding trials and applied livestock research.

Dr. Ampode has a strong research portfolio, with around 𝟒𝟎 scientific papers published in SCOPUS- and Web of Science–indexed journals, including Q1-ranked publications with over 300 citations, and has presented his work at international scientific conferences. His research interests focus on smart swine farming, innovative feeding technologies for high-yielding sows, and the evaluation of plant-based phytogenic feed additives as sustainable alternatives in poultry and ruminant nutrition, production, and health.

Practicum Visitation | BSAB Students in Action!

The Agribusiness Department Faculty conducted a Practicum Visitation to our BSAB Practicumers last Oct. 2-3, 2025 deployed across different enterprise fields — Marketing, Crop Production, Broiler Production, and Hog Production located in Rizal, Aborlan, Narra and Española, Palawan.

This practicum highlights the application of classroom knowledge into real agribusiness ventures, where students are challenged to plan, implement, and manage their own business enterprises.

Kudos to our future agripreneurs for turning theory into practice and showcasing the true spirit of entrepreneurial innovation in agriculture!
