𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

As part of the Department of Health’s initiative PROJECT GIN-AWA (Gearing Innovations Towards Nurturing Holistic Approach on Wellness for All Abreños), the Rural Health Unit of Pidigan conducted a Mental Health Discussion with the high school students of Saint Mary High School – Pidigan. The session aimed to raise awareness on the importance of mental health, equip the youth with knowledge on how to better manage stress and emotions, and encourage them to prioritize their overall well-being.

Immediately after the discussion, a Peer Support Group was initiated by SK Federation President Bryce Ivan Cabanilla. This activity provided a safe and welcoming space for students to engage in open conversations, listen to one another’s experiences, and build stronger peer connections that promote compassion, empathy, and resilience.

Through these efforts, PROJECT GIN-AWA continues to embody its vision of gearing innovations towards a holistic approach to wellness. The collaboration between the DOH, RHU Pidigan, and the SK Federation highlights the collective responsibility of institutions and leaders in fostering not only physical health but also emotional and mental well-being among the youth.

The beat, energy, and passion came alive as the Sangguniang Kabataan of Pidigan hosted its first-ever Dance Class as the culminating activity of the month-long celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan 2025 with the theme:
“Local Youth Actions for the Sustainable Development Goals and Beyond.”

The event gathered not only the youth of Pidigan but also enthusiastic participants from different municipalities of Abra, all united by their love for dance. With the guidance of Dance Master Kelly Fuentes of Re-Up Pidigan Dance Company, participants learned, grooved, and expressed themselves through movement while promoting creativity, fitness, and camaraderie.

Thank you to all the participants and supporters who made this final program a success. Truly, the youth of Pidigan continue to shine — from sports, arts, and culture, to leadership and beyond!

Energy, enthusiasm, and unity filled the streets of Pidigan as the Sangguniang Kabataan of Pidigan held its very first Fun Run as part of the celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan 2025 with the theme:
“Local Youth Actions for the Sustainable Development Goals and Beyond.”

Participants from different barangays came together not only to run for fitness and fun, but also to show the strength of youth in promoting health, camaraderie, and community spirit.

Congratulations to all who joined and finished the run — you are proof that the youth of Pidigan are active, engaged, and ready to take the lead in building a better tomorrow.

The Sangguniang Kabataan of Pidigan successfully held the 1st SK Pidigan Mobile Legends Tournament, which gathered 15 teams from different barangays to compete in a showcase of skill, strategy, and teamwork.

After a series of exciting and competitive matches, the following emerged as winners:
🥇 Champion – Barangay Pamutic
🥈 2nd Place – Barangay Garreta
🥉 3rd Place – Barangay Poblacion East

We extend our warmest congratulations to all the participating teams for their dedication and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. This event highlights the commitment of SK Pidigan to provide meaningful activities for the youth, creating avenues not only for recreation but also for camaraderie and unity.

The youth of Pidigan once again proved their creativity, brilliance, and talent during the 1st SK Pidigan Poster Making Contest and Quiz Bee, held as part of the Linggo ng Kabataan 2025 celebration with the theme:
“Local Youth Actions for the Sustainable Development Goals and Beyond.”

In the Poster Making Contest, a total of 14 participants from different barangays showcased their artistic skills, each presenting their vision of how young people can contribute to a more sustainable and progressive future. After a tough round of judging, the winners emerged:
🥇 Mc Harley Palino – Brgy. Naguiryan
🥈 Mariane Papagayo – Brgy. Poblacion West
🥉 Bryan Catian – Brgy. Poblacion East

Meanwhile, the Quiz Bee was fiercely contested by 15 teams with 3 participants each, testing their knowledge, wit, and teamwork. After an exciting battle of minds, the top placers were:

The court came alive with power, passion, and determination as the Sangguniang Kabataan of Pidigan proudly hosted the 1st SK Pidigan Volleyball Men’s Tournament. A total of 8 strong teams from different places came together to battle it out, each one showcasing their skills, teamwork, and fighting spirit in pursuit of the championship.

Every match was filled with thrilling rallies, powerful spikes, and unyielding defense, reflecting the dedication and sportsmanship of all participating teams. The energy of the players and the support of the crowd made the tournament an unforgettable highlight of this year’s celebration.

After a series of hard-fought games, it was Great Heights Learning Center that rose to the top, claiming the honor of being the tournament champion!

Guiding us on this journey is none other than Dance Master of the Re-Up Pidigan Dance Crew, Kelly! Known for his dynamic style and passion for the art of dance, he’s ready to share his expertise and inspire participants to move with confidence, passion, and unity.

This Dance Class is more than just steps and routines—it’s a chance to connect, to celebrate, and to show that the youth of Pidigan know how to make every moment count. Let’s move as one and make this another highlight of Linggo ng Kabataan .
