Barangay Population Report (Based on Census Data of PSA)

According to the 2024 Census conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the population of our barangay was recorded at 549 residents. This accounts for 0.03% of the total population of Leyte and 0.89% of the total population of Abuyog.

The data also shows a steady decline in population over the past years:

• 2010: 643 residents
• 2015: 637 residents (a slightly decrease for about 0.93%)
• 2020: 567 residents (a massive decrease for about 10.99%)
• 2024: 549 residents (a further decrease for about 3.28%)

Overall, from 2010 to 2024, the barangay’s population decreased by 94 residents, which is a total decline of about 14.62%.

Possible reasons may include:
1.) Migration to urban areas for work and education
2.) Declining birth rates
3.) Families relocating to other provinces
4.) Death
