WANTED INDIVIDUAL LINKED TO CAPIZ BROADCASTER SHOOTING ARRESTED

Reinforcing its commitment to protecting public safety and ensuring that criminal cases move through the proper legal process, the Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., has arrested a wanted individual allegedly linked to the shooting of a radio news anchor in Capiz.

The arrest of the suspect, identified only by the alias “Doming,” 42, was carried out at around 3:05 PM on October 30, 2026, in Barangay Poblacion, Tapaz, Capiz, through an intelligence-driven operation by police units under the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6).

The suspect, listed as the No. 2 Most Wanted Person in Tapaz, was apprehended by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 15, Roxas City, on August 12, 2026, for Attempted Murder, with bail set at ₱120,000.00.

Police records link the suspect to the shooting of a radio news anchor on June 22, 2026, at the Crossing of Costa Verde, Barangay Cagay, Roxas City. The case remains subject to judicial proceedings.

The operation was led by the Tapaz Municipal Police Station, with support from the Capiz Provincial Police Intelligence Unit, 2nd Capiz Provincial Mobile Force Company, Roxas City Police Station, Regional Intelligence Division, and Regional Special Operations Group.

Chief PNP PGen Nartatez commended the operating units for their coordinated efforts, stressing the importance of addressing cases involving violence against media practitioners.

“I commend our personnel for their efforts in pursuing this case. The safety of media practitioners matters because they play an important role in keeping the public informed. Hindi dapat balewalain ang anumang insidente na naglalagay sa kanilang kaligtasan sa alanganin. We will continue to do our part in ensuring that cases are properly addressed and due process is observed,” PGen Nartatez said.

He added that the PNP will continue to strengthen intelligence gathering and coordination among police units to ensure that individuals with outstanding warrants are accounted for and presented before the courts.

The operation reflects the PNP's Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) under its Focused Agenda, which emphasizes intelligence-led actions, effective coordination, and operational accountability. It also supports the commitment of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to maintaining peace and order while upholding the rule of law and respect for individual rights.

The arrested individual remains under the custody of Tapaz MPS pending the necessary documentation and legal proceedings.

Through these efforts, the PNP continues to uphold its responsibility to protect communities, pursue lawful accountability, and deliver Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.

₱1.7-MILLION WORTH OF CI******ES LACKING HEALTH WARNINGS SEIZED IN ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY; TWO ARRESTED

The leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), continues to reinforce the government's efforts to protect consumers and uphold regulations on to***co products following a police operation that resulted in the confiscation of ₱1.715 million worth of ci******es without the required graphic health warnings in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, on October 29, 2026.

The operation, conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Field Unit in coordination with the Ipil Municipal Police Station, led to the arrest of two individuals and the confiscation of 35 master cases of ci******es found in their possession and control.

The presence of ci******es without the prescribed health warnings raises concerns over compliance with regulations intended to inform consumers about the health risks of to***co use. Republic Act No. 10643, or the Graphic Health Warnings Law, requires to***co product packages to carry graphic and textual health warnings, while Republic Act No. 10863, or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act, provides measures to address customs violations and illicit trade.

Chief PNP PGen Nartatez underscored that protecting the public also means ensuring that products being distributed and sold comply with established laws and regulations.

“Dapat malinaw sa lahat na may mga batas tayong kailangang sundin pagdating sa pagbebenta at pagdadala ng mga produkto. Hindi lamang ito usapin ng enforcement; usapin din ito ng pagprotekta sa mga mamimili at pagtiyak na walang napapabayaan sa pagpapatupad ng batas. We will continue to work with our partner agencies to address these violations through proper and lawful action,” PGen Nartatez said.

The PNP will sustain its coordination with relevant government agencies and local authorities to address the movement and distribution of non-compliant products. The operation also reflects the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to strengthen law enforcement and safeguard the welfare of the Filipino public.

This initiative supports the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), through intelligence-led enforcement, effective coordination, and responsive police action against activities that undermine regulatory compliance.

As the PNP strengthens its role in protecting communities and upholding the law, it remains guided by its commitment to the Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.

The suspect was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the court, with no bail recommended, and is currently under the custody of Angeles City Police Station 2.

Chief PNP Nartatez emphasized that the arrest of wanted persons remains an important part of the PNP's responsibility to uphold the rule of law and ensure that cases filed before the courts are given due course.

“Kapag may warrant of arrest, tungkulin nating kumilos at tiyaking naipatutupad ito nang maayos. We want to make sure that the law takes its proper course, while ensuring that every operation respects the rights and dignity of the persons involved. This is how we build public trust—not only through results, but also through the way we carry out our duties,” PGen Nartatez said.

These operations reflect the PNP's commitment to the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) under its Focused Agenda, which emphasizes intelligence-led action, effective coordination, and accountability in police operations. This is also consistent with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s call for a more responsive and accountable police service that protects communities while upholding the rule of law.

The PNP assures the public that efforts to locate wanted persons will remain sustained, with every operation guided by due process, respect for human rights, and the principle that everyone is entitled to the protection of the law.

As the PNP strengthens maritime law enforcement and protects the country’s marine resources against illegal fishing, under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the PNP assures the public of its commitment to “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.”

PNP HEIGHTENS SECURITY, PUBLIC ASSISTANCE AS ALL SAINTS’ DAY DRAWS CROWDS

With more Filipinos visiting cemeteries and memorial parks to remember their departed loved ones, the Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief PNP, has further strengthened its nationwide security presence, with 166,365 personnel deployed as of 6:00 AM today, November 1, to help ensure a safe and orderly observance of All Saints’ Day.

The deployment includes 78,952 PNP personnel, 20,837 personnel from other government agencies and units, and 67,524 force multipliers. Of these, 29,185 personnel are assigned to cemeteries and columbaria, supported by 5,308 police assistance desks. Other personnel are positioned at places of worship, major thoroughfares, transportation hubs, tourist destinations, and checkpoints to provide security and assistance.

Chief PNP PGen Nartatez said the increased deployment reflects the PNP’s continuing assessment of public movement and the need to position personnel where their presence and assistance are most needed.

“Mas marami tayong kababayan ang bumibisita ngayon sa mga sementeryo at memorial parks, kaya mas pinalakas natin ang police presence sa mga lugar na inaasahang dadagsain ng publiko. Our personnel are there not only to maintain peace and order but also to assist families, guide motorists, and respond to people who may need help. We want every Filipino to observe Undas with peace of mind, knowing that our police officers are ready to serve wherever they are needed,” CPNP Nartatez said.

The PNP remains under Full Alert Status, with police units sustaining security, traffic management, and public assistance operations throughout the Undas period. This is in line with the directives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to strengthen public safety and maintain peace and order, and supports the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), through coordinated deployment and the effective use of personnel and resources.

The PNP also reminds the public to take necessary precautions throughout the observance. Families leaving their homes should secure doors and windows, switch off unnecessary electrical appliances, keep valuables in safe places, and inform a trusted neighbor if they will be away for an extended period.

Those visiting cemeteries are advised to keep personal belongings secure, avoid bringing unnecessary valuables, and keep children close, particularly in crowded areas. Travelers, meanwhile, are encouraged to check their vehicles before departure, plan their routes, observe traffic rules, and avoid distracted or fatigued driving. Commuters should also remain attentive to their belongings, especially in crowded terminals.

PGEN Nartatez emphasized that public cooperation is equally important in keeping communities safe.

“Ang kaligtasan ay hindi lamang responsibilidad ng kapulisan. We also need the cooperation of every family and every member of the community. Bago umalis ng bahay, siguraduhing nakasara ang mga pinto at bintana. Sa mga sementeryo, bantayan ang mga bata at personal na gamit, at sa pagbiyahe, maging maingat at sumunod sa mga batas-trapiko. Simple precautions can prevent unnecessary incidents and help make this occasion safe and meaningful for everyone,” he emphasized.

The PNP assures the public that its personnel will remain visible and accessible throughout the Undas observance, ready to provide assistance and respond to concerns. Through sustained police presence and cooperation with partner agencies and communities, the PNP remains committed to its promise of Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.

HOUSEHOLD HELPER FACES QUALIFIED THEFT COMPLAINT OVER ₱2M WORTH OF VALUABLES

A household helper was arrested in Quezon City following the reported theft of luxury watches, jewelry, and foreign currency worth approximately ₱2.007 million from her employer’s residence, as police authorities acted promptly on the complaint and pursued the recovery of the missing valuables.

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. The incident was reported after the employer discovered that a cabinet had been forcibly opened and a cash box had been tampered with. Initial investigation indicated that the suspect allegedly turned over the valuables to an unidentified individual after receiving instructions through a phone call.

The suspect is now under police custody and is facing a complaint for Qualified Theft under Article 310 of the Revised Penal Code. Police investigators are continuing their efforts to locate the missing valuables and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the possible involvement of other individuals.

Chief PNP PGen Nartatez emphasized the importance of promptly reporting suspicious circumstances and working closely with authorities to prevent further losses and help resolve cases.

“Kapag may napansin tayong kakaiba, huwag nating balewalain. Mas mabuting agad na ipagbigay-alam sa pulisya kaysa hintaying lumaki ang problema. He added that police units must remain responsive to every complaint, conduct thorough investigations, and ensure that appropriate legal processes are observed.
