STORM SURGE WARNING | According to DOST-PAGASA, as of 8:00 am today, November 3, a high risk of life-threatening storm surge may occur in the next 48 hours. There is a possibility of inundation from rising sea water along with high waves in the low-lying coastal communities in the five provinces of the region.

The coastal communities in the provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras and Iloilo may experience one to two meters high sea water rise with minimal to moderate damage and disruptions to all marine-related activities.

The state weather bureau advised to cancel all marine activities and move to higher grounds away from the coast and storm surge-prone areas.

The public is likewise advised to monitor the latest Tropical Cyclone bulletins and Storm Surge warnings from DOST-PAGASA.

Based on the latest tropical cyclone bulletin of DOST-PAGASA, as of 8:00 am today, November 3, all provinces of Western Visayas remain under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 as Severe Tropical Storm continues to move west southwestward and is now nearing typhoon category.

This signal warning signifies strong winds with speed ranging from 39 to 61 kilometers per hour (km/h) that may cause minimal to minor threat to life and property.
