Tourism Month in the Philippines is celebrated every September, emphasizing the significance of tourism in promoting cultural exchange and economic growth. In 2024, the theme "Tourism and Peace" aligns with the global observance of World Tourism Day on September 27.

The celebration aims to highlight tourism's role as a catalyst for peace and understanding among nations and cultures. Various activities will be organized nationwide, focusing on how tourism can foster reconciliation and promote a culture of peace. The Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) will lead these initiatives, encouraging local and international travel to support the tourism sector's recovery.

Alaminos City National High School, in particular the TVL Tourism of Senior High School Department and its students, participate in the Tourism Month 2024 celebration as we showcase best practices of the hospitality industry and encourage sustainable tourism in our community to improve our students' awareness and enrich their knowledge and abilities in various aspects of tourism and peace.

✈️ TVL Tourism participated in the Division SHS Showcase Expo 2024, which took place on February 20, 2024, at Alaminos City National High School.

The importance of skills expositions for TVL (Tourism) students lies within the context of preparing them for the competitive and rapidly evolving global tourism industry. Through skills exhibitions, students can showcase their abilities, develop confidence, and enhance their employability.

Skills exhibitions play a vital role in equipping TVL students with the necessary skills and experiences to succeed in the ever-changing tourism landscape. They foster a sense of pride in students' achievements while simultaneously promoting the value of continuous learning throughout their careers.

This exhibition also showcases the abilities and aptitudes of the TVL learners from the several specializations they studied during the first quarter of the academic year, in line with the competencies.

The Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) is one of the flagship training programs of the Department of Tourism (DOT), which aims to provide all front liners in the tourism and hospitality industry with a benchmark on how to render excellent service to tourists the Filipino way and make it our “brand”.

The Department of Tourism Region 1, in partnership with Alaminos City National High School, conducted a Filipino Brand of Service Excellence workshop for TVL learners of Senior High School. The workshop aimed to instill Filipino values and service excellence in the learners, and to equip them with tools to understand and engage customers effectively.

The workshop was well-received by the TVL learners, who actively participated in the discussions and activities. The learners appreciated the opportunity to learn about Filipino values and service excellence, and they were eager to apply the techniques and approaches they learned in their future endeavors. The Department of Tourism plans to continue supporting similar workshops in the future to foster a new generation of service excellence advocates in the tourism industry.
