SIMULATION EXERCISE
Malinao, Albay โ The Malinao Municipal Police Station under the supervision of PCPT IVYN E VILLANUEVA, OIC, successfully conducted a Simulation Exercise (SIMEX) on flashflood incident response as part of its continuing commitment to strengthen disaster preparedness and emergency response capabilities within the municipality.
The activity was conducted in coordination with various partner agencies including the Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), and Barangay Balza. The joint exercise demonstrated inter-agency cooperation and coordination during disaster response operations, particularly in situations involving flashflood emergencies.
The simulation exercise included evacuation procedures, rescue and retrieval operations, emergency communication, traffic management, and response coordination among participating agencies. The activity aimed to assess the readiness, efficiency, and responsiveness of responders in handling possible flashflood incidents and other related emergencies.
The Malinao Municipal Police Station emphasized that conducting simulation exercises is vital in enhancing public safety and minimizing risks during disasters. Through realistic drills and practical scenarios, responders are able to improve teamwork, identify operational gaps, and strengthen disaster management strategies to better protect lives and property.
Moreover, the activity also served to increase public awareness and encourage community participation in disaster preparedness initiatives. Authorities stressed that preparedness, cooperation, and quick response are essential in mitigating the impact of natural calamities, especially in flood-prone areas.
The Malinao PNP and participating agencies remain committed to sustaining proactive disaster risk reduction and management programs in order to build a safer, more resilient, and disaster-ready community.
