BRIGADA ESKWELA 2026 | Distribution of LGU Financial Assistance to Schools

As part of its continuing commitment to quality education, the Local Government Unit of Malinao, through the Local School Board, distributed financial assistance to 25 elementary schools and 3 secondary schools in the municipality during its meeting held on May 28, 2026.

The financial assistance aims to support the implementation of Brigada Eskwela 2026, helping schools prepare their facilities and learning environment in time for the opening of classes.

This initiative underscores the unwavering support of the LGU of Malinao, under the leadership of Mayor Sheryl Capus Bilo, in partnership with the Department of Education and school stakeholders, in ensuring that learners are provided with a safe, clean, and conducive environment for learning.

Together, we continue to strengthen our commitment to education and the future of every Malinaonon learner.

SIMULATION EXERCISE
Malinao, Albay — The Malinao Municipal Police Station under the supervision of PCPT IVYN E VILLANUEVA, OIC, successfully conducted a Simulation Exercise (SIMEX) on flashflood incident response as part of its continuing commitment to strengthen disaster preparedness and emergency response capabilities within the municipality.
The activity was conducted in coordination with various partner agencies including the Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), and Barangay Balza. The joint exercise demonstrated inter-agency cooperation and coordination during disaster response operations, particularly in situations involving flashflood emergencies.
The simulation exercise included evacuation procedures, rescue and retrieval operations, emergency communication, traffic management, and response coordination among participating agencies. The activity aimed to assess the readiness, efficiency, and responsiveness of responders in handling possible flashflood incidents and other related emergencies.
The Malinao Municipal Police Station emphasized that conducting simulation exercises is vital in enhancing public safety and minimizing risks during disasters. Through realistic drills and practical scenarios, responders are able to improve teamwork, identify operational gaps, and strengthen disaster management strategies to better protect lives and property.
Moreover, the activity also served to increase public awareness and encourage community participation in disaster preparedness initiatives. Authorities stressed that preparedness, cooperation, and quick response are essential in mitigating the impact of natural calamities, especially in flood-prone areas.
The Malinao PNP and participating agencies remain committed to sustaining proactive disaster risk reduction and management programs in order to build a safer, more resilient, and disaster-ready community.

The Public Employment Service Office of Malinao conducted a coordination meeting with our BESOs together with PESO Manager Andrie Philip C. Albaniel and TUPAD Program Focal Mark Joas C. Angulo for the implementation of the TUPAD AbacaBayanihan Program in Malinao.

Anchored on the vision of Mayor Sheryl P. Capus-Bilo to create sustainable and community-based employment opportunities this initiative highlights the importance of strengthening the abaca industry as Malinao holds one of the largest abaca land areas in Albay.

Participating barangays include Bagatangki, Bulang, Soa, Sugcad, Malolos, Matalipni, Ogob, Diaro, Tagoytoy and Tanawan — communities with strong potential in abaca production and livelihood development.

Through strengthened coordination and collaboration, the program aims to support our abaca farming communities, generate livelihood opportunities and further promote agricultural development in the municipality.

Representing Mayor 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘂𝘀-𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗼, Vice Mayor 𝗔𝗯𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗼 graced the Grand Opening of 𝗢!𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗲 Malinao and joined the ceremonial ribbon-cutting together with the store manager, regional representatives, and O!Save officials today at Bagumbayan, Malinao, Albay, beside the Shell Gasoline Station.

The opening of O!Save Malinao marks another positive step in strengthening local commerce and providing residents with accessible and affordable shopping options. The event was attended by company officials, employees, guests, and members of the community who witnessed this significant milestone.

The Local Government Unit of Malinao extends its congratulations to the management and staff of O!Save Malinao and wishes them continued success as they begin serving the people of Malinao.
