Residents of Barangay Mapurao gathered in large numbers at the Barangay Hall Gymnasium from December 21 to 23 for the Intergenerational Community Socialization Program, a three-day activity designed to bring together youth, adults, and senior citizens in a shared celebration of unity and cooperation. Guided by the theme “Cultivating Community and Bridging Generations,” the event highlighted the importance of strengthening relationships across different age groups within the community.

The program was led by the SK Officials, headed by SK Chairwoman Athena Mae Santiago-Torida, whose leadership played a vital role in ensuring the success of the activity. She was joined by one of the event organizers, Sir Jayson Eustaquio, a teacher from Mapurao Integrated Learning School (MILS). Their collaborative efforts ensured that the program’s objectives were effectively achieved, with a strong focus on youth development, leadership, and community engagement.
The event aimed to promote cooperation among generations while providing a platform for youth engagement, sportsmanship, and inclusive community interaction.

Sports competitions were among the major highlights of the program. A basketball tournament for boys drew enthusiastic participation and strong community support, showcasing teamwork, discipline, and competitive spirit among the young athletes. At the conclusion of the tournament, Team Roland emerged as the champion, earning recognition for their skill, determination, and strong teamwork. The games fostered camaraderie and encouraged active lifestyles among the youth of Mapurao.
In the girls’ volleyball competition, Team Rhianne emerged as the champion after demonstrating exceptional skill, coordination, and determination throughout the matches. Their victory was met with loud cheers, reflecting the community’s strong support for women in sports and youth empowerment.

Modern recreational activities also took center stage with the Mobile Legends tournament, which attracted numerous young participants and spectators. Team Dino Squad claimed the championship title, impressing the audience with their strategic gameplay and teamwork.

Adding excitement to the celebration, the SK officials organized raffle draws and parlor games that engaged participants of all ages. These activities created a joyful atmosphere and encouraged interaction among children, youth, and elders, reinforcing the program’s intergenerational focus.
The event was further strengthened by the active involvement of the Supreme Student Learning Government (SSLG), led by President Jastine Carl Fontillas. Their participation highlighted the importance of student leadership and collaboration in community-based initiatives.

Significant contributions also came from the Technical Working Group (TWG) facilitators—Cristopher Torida, Princes Torida, Charles Dave Gabbac, Ezekiel Lingan, Alessandra Cabiles, and Chris Angelo Pimentel, and Elvie Jade Reynon—whose dedication ensured the smooth implementation of all activities.

Residents of Barangay Mapurao expressed their appreciation for the program, noting its positive impact on community unity and youth development. The strong turnout and active participation reflected the barangay’s collective commitment to fostering harmony and cooperation.

Overall, the Intergenerational Community Socialization Program concluded as a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on the people of Mapurao. Through shared activities, effective leadership, and strong community spirit, the event truly fulfilled its mission of cultivating unity and bridging generations.

This event was filled with Joy, Learnings, Laughter and Community Spirit- through this initiative, Sangguniang Kabataan continues it commitment to empowering the youth and supporting their educational journey.

Thank you MILS family headed by the School Principal Ma'am Jesty G. Reynon for always extending their boundless support and guidance to us, at maraming salamat din po sa mga magulang, guardians at sa aming mga kapwa kabataan na nakidalo at nakiisa.

Ang 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐤 𝐞𝐬𝐤𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 ay hindi namin mairaraos kung hindi dahil sa inyong kooperasyon at taos pusong suporta. Nawa'y ang aming munting proyekto ay nakadagdag ng tulong sa ating mga mag-aaral.

Here's to the successful celebration of Mapurao's Sk night and Awarding ceremony, with a Theme:"Uniting as family with discipline, teamwork and excellence".

The event was attended by numerous individuals including our Brgy. officials headed by our honorable Brgy. Captain Edgar Fontillas, the sk officials headed by Honorable Athena Santiago, to the whole community of Brgy. Mapurao, and visitors from other barangays.

To our visitors from the Municipality of Allacapan headed by our esteemed Mayor, Honorable Harry Florida , we thank you for attending our said event. Your presence and message had contributed a lot to building the strength and passion among all others. To the Veranda Band together with the Bon Jovi ng Cagayan, we thank you for making the event fun and lively.

We would like also to acknowledge and congratulate the Team Dayo for winning the exhibition. Both team showed an excellent performance in playing basketball. You are an inspiration to all individuals who also aspires to become one. And to all the winners and nonwinners, awardees and non-awardees, still Congratulations to all of you.
