In celebration of the Season of Creation 2024 and in honor of the Feast of St. Francis of Asisi, the patron of Social Action, the Commission on Social Action Staff and Bishop's House workers united for a tree-planting activity in Nong-Nong, Butuan City. This event symbolizes the shared commitment to caring for the environment, fostering resilience against climate change, and nurturing a sustainable future for all. Together, we continue to be stewards of God's creation.

Today, the Ecology Recollection with Rev. Fr. Rolie Ritchie D. Gomez, MSC, led a powerful reflection on the role of stewards of creation. 🙏💚

Joined by the Social Action Staff, Pre College of St. Peter Seminary, Pre Deacons, Rev. Fr. Stephen Brongcano, SAC Director, and Rev. Fr. Cryslyr Kenny J. Gildo, Diocese of Butuan Assistant Finance Officer, the commitment to nurture and protect the planet for future generations was reaffirmed. Together, there is strength in the mission to care for our common home! 🌍🌱

Despite the heavy rain, the San Roque Integrated Farmers Association (SaRIFA) proudly inaugurated their Banana and Vegetable Consolidation Center at Sitio San Roque, Tungao, Butuan City! 🌧️💪 The center's blessing was officiated by Rev. Fr. Gilbert S. Billena, the REVIVE UP 2 Project Coordinator, with the presence of Rev. Fr. Stephen Brongcano, Social Action Director, and other Social Action Staff.

A heartfelt thank you to our SaRIFA partner families! Your support and hard work have made this milestone possible. Your commitment is the backbone of this success. Let's stay dedicated and united for the betterment of our community. Together, we'll achieve even greater things! 🌱🌟

LOOK: The Commission on Social Action, along with its partner stakeholders and the BLGU of Tungao, Butuan City, on their second day of training for the 𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑼𝒑𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒚 𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑹𝒊𝒔𝒌 𝑹𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 (𝑩𝑫𝑹𝑹𝑴) 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒏. 🌍✨

Our dedicated barangay officials, local leaders, and purok leaders from each sitio engaged in a hands-on workshop. Together, they mapped out vulnerable areas and identified safe places such as evacuation zones. The active participation and collaboration among the participants were truly inspiring, showcasing their commitment to enhancing community safety and resilience. 💪🏼🗺️

🌟 Strengthening Community Resilience: Revisitation and Updating of the BDRRM Plan! 🌟

LOOK: The Commission on Social Action, in collaboration with its partner stakeholders of the project Revive UP-2, the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) of Tungao, Butuan City, has commenced the 1st day of training in the 𝙍𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙐𝙥𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙮 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙍𝙞𝙨𝙠 𝙍𝙚𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 (𝘽𝘿𝙍𝙍𝙈) 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣. Led firsthand by Rev. Fr. Gilbert S. Billena and the Revive UP-2 project team. This vital training session brought together barangay officials, local leaders, and purok leaders from each sitio to focus on Disaster Risk Reduction Management and Climate Change Adaptation. 🌍💡

Participants engaged in identifying frequently occurring hazards, vulnerable areas, and potential high-risk elements within their communities. By equipping our community leaders with updated knowledge and strategies, we are ensuring better preparedness and resilience in the face of disasters.

LOOK: The Sampinit, Malapong Buenavista Integrated Farmer's Association (SAMBIFA), a people's organization facilitated by the Diocese of Butuan through SAC-JP Butuan City, proudly conducted its ribbon-cutting and store opening ceremony. The event was led and blessed by Rev. Fr. Stephen M. Brongcano, alongside SAC-JP staff and SAMBIFA members. 🌾✨

This milestone marks the beginning of a new chapter for our local farmers. Through unwavering dedication and hard work, SAMBIFA's efforts have started to bear fruit. The opening of the SAMBIFA Store is set to significantly benefit the local farming community, providing them with a platform to showcase their products and enhance their livelihoods.

Through this workshop, our partner families delved into vital topics such as disaster capacitation, risk assessment, and understanding vulnerabilities during hazardous events. Making preparations and plans for their households, assigning roles of the different members of their families💡💪

By equipping ourselves with knowledge and strategies, we're not just preparing for challenges – we're embracing them with resilience and strength. Together, we're building a community that can weather any storm! ⛈️🌱

This unique project scheme embodies the spirit of paying it forward. Revive-Up 2 project provides initial provisions such as capacitation trainings and tangible materials to our partners, and as their products grow, sustain, and develop, they share the benefits with neighboring families who are also in need. This way, the entire community thrives together!

At the conclusion of the Farmer's Day 2024 event, awards were presented to the speakers, and gifts were given to the Revive-Up 2 organizations—TADIFA, SARIFA, and SAMBIFA—providing them with supplies for the future operations of their respective businesses. Followed by a Holy Mass, and was primarily celebrated by Most Reverend Cosme Damian R. Almedilla, D.D. Everyone went home peacefully and joyfully, with smiles on their faces.🌾🌱
